Hi everyone,
I need to restart custom ROM counter, I tried Triangle Away, but when I click "Reset flash counter" and "Continue", nothing happen. No reboot, nothing.
On my SGS III (I9300) I tried it on custom firmware, on stock firmware (Android 4.2.1, I9300XXEMG4, France version) and on older version 4.0.4. Rooted, permission granted, package for GT-I9300 by "Triangle Away" downloaded. I bought last version of Triangle Away from market v3.25.
Please help, how to boot to Triangle Away recovery?
Solved
Funny, 1hour after I add this post, developer of Triangle app released new version that fix this bug.
Now it's working well

After installing Triangle Away 2.60 just to check the counter, (which showed 0) my Device Status has changed from Official to Custom.
It was Official before running Triangle Away to reboot into the counter screen.
I did not commit any changes!
Note 10.1 JB 4.1.2 STOCK ROOTED
What gives?
UPDATE:
Using Triangle Away's Workaround: System modified workaround seems to have returned the Device Status back to Official.
Just a quick question, did you root with the exynos exploit then upgrade to the newest version of JB?
I found that using the exynos exploit would set my status to custom even after flashing stock rom...
nope, it was not rooted before
Please to tell me why?
Hy guys, i turn to recovey mode. how about "system status" why that always showing custom not official? any one can to tell why? thanks.
Maybe you flashed a custom rom or recovery into your device.
Hard to say given so little information.
[Q] GT-I9505 GLB XXMEA , Suddenly "Custom" from "OFF." TriangleAway does not reset..
I cf-autoroot my GT-I9505 S4 MDM...
then use triangle -away 3.0 to make the firmware as OFFICIAL and not CUSTOM.
All have been done successfully without any issues...
Since these firmware of S4 does not support moving data to SDcard, I updated my firmware using kies since my unit is lock to a certain
carrier and the latest firmware MEA (support moving of data to SDcard) is now available in KIES.
But before that i have already use the triangle away 3.0 (like i said) and the unrooting of SuperSU.
I'm tired of downloading OTA firmwares since theres no direct links to download to and they use only hotfile which is too slow for me
since not all countires have best connections and some disconnection will disrupt the download and will start again.
I know they suggest me to reflashed the original OTA XXMDM before upgrading to XXMEA for everything to be smooth later without any issues.
But I didnt do it.
What i did is what others also suggest me that Triangle away 3.0 and unrooting in superSU is enough to update.
So my option is the Kies and it accepted my Firmware update to XXMEA from XXMDM.
It succesfully updated my firmware and have no issues again in CF-autorooting it and Triangle AWAY to make it "OFFICIAL" and it goes smoothly without any issues.
BUT suddenly without knowing....
I have notice my device status becomes "Custom" again...
I do not know what happened, Maybe some apps trigger it to become like that.
Or is samsung scretly patch my s4.
I am sure my S4 XXMEA is OFFICIAL Before but now its is Custom , i havent upgraded to MF8..
I dont know if Triangle away 3.0 is compatible with this firmware MEA or MF8.
Any Suggestions why does this happened?
My plan is again to update to MF8. ANy Suggestions whats the best way?
By the way, I am a NOOB when it comes to Android, but not in IPHONE..
Anybody out there... BUMP....
Hello XDA,
This is my first post, so excuse me if I do or say something wrong. I am a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini (GT-I8190) owner and I wanted to return my phone to completely stock state. I was running rooted 4.1.2 AMD3. I did a TriangleAway to reset my flash counter and binary status, which went just fine. I plugged it in my computer and updated with KIES to 4.1.2 AMG4. Obviously I lost root access (which was done intentionally) but surprisingly enough, SuperSU was still there as a System App!! There was no uninstall option in the Android App Manager, only Uninstall updates, which I did. This removed SuperSU but my "device status" still appears as "custom" both in Download Mode and in Settings. I double checked that I didn't leave any root apps back. What should I do in order to get my phone in "official" state??? I am (in my opinion) an experienced Android User (not developer or hacker of any sorts) so I am familiar with ODIN, the only problem being that I am too nervous and anxious that something will go bad with the flashing and my phone will turn into toast...
I have attached some screenshots showing my issue.
Thank you for your time.
Hi all,
I have searched for any info on this and it seems like the "[root] Triangle Away" app may be able to reset the counter but I couldn't find anyone that tried it with the Galaxy Tab 7.7?
As our tab is very much like a Galaxy S2, I am thinking it may work but cannot be certain.
It is not like I really care right now but I still have 11 months of warranty and was curious if this could be done.
Many thanks.
Im not sure the 7.7 has a flash counter in it at all.
My S3 did and could be reset by triangle away..
The best way to do it on devices that have a flash counter is..
use odin to flash older version of Rom.eg ICS or lower JB version but for our 7.7 its ICS..
Need to root to use triangle away and first remove any custom recovery, make sure its stock recovery.
use triangle away and after reset counter dont restart tab or phone go straight to download mode..
look at download mode and check flash counter and its samsung stock firmware.
sometime it requires a few times to acheive this and after a few restarts it will stop showing stock again..
even though its been reset.another tip is to remove sim card and any SD cards whilst doing this as some reason
SD cards can somehow trigger flash counter?
Once its looking correct in download mode restart device and do a OTA update to latest firmware..
This will reset you to a new locked boot loader and you will definatley have stock rom and 0 flash counter..
to keep it this way dont root or use custom recoverys...
mainly its for newer things like the S3 im sure the 7.7 doesnt have a "locked Bootloader" but i may be wrong..
also if it doesnt have a locked boot loader its easier to do than what i typed..
you cant update OTA with root or custom recovery or non stock rom..
hope this helps its what i found with reguards to my s3 and getting it back to stock for warrenty..
There is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 flash counter introduced for P6800 JB 4.1.2 DXMD3, so any modified ROM, kernel or recovery flashed via PC Odin will increase the counter.
I just reset mine from 58 > 0
How ??
1. Have installed my P6810 / P6800 SkyHigh kernel for JB 4.1.2 (patched for triangle away compatibility)
2. Install triangle away app v3.26
3. Reset counter
4. Reboot as requested
5. To check > open app again, or, power off and enter download mode
Your custom ROM, kernel, recovery & root remain intact
Hallo Forumianers and XDA-Freaks!
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8010 Wi-Fi only) and I got it two years ago with retail mode software on it. To get this retail s**t off, I flashed it with CWM and installed a custom rom with same functionality as the stock rom. I was happy with it until now. For some reasons I need to get original stock rom on it now (e.g. update capability by Samsung) and here my problem starts:
I downloaded N8010XXUCMA5 - Open Germany - JB 4.1.2 file, extracted the zip and flashed my N8010 with Odin 1.85 and the xxx.tar.md5 file. It worked perfectly until trying to write the boot.img data. At the very last second (actually 1 or 2 seconds before it should have been finished) the procedure failed with a red field in Odin and the word Failed in it.
Then I just tried to restart the device normal and I got the "DEAD-SCREEN" (An issue occurred while updating device... a.s.o.).
Frustrated from hours of work - I tried the same procedure three times with same result - and sleepy I decided to go back to a custom rom for now. So !! I flashed CWM on the N8010 by Odin and made a system restart.... !!!!! I couldn't believe: N8010XXUCMA5 rom started perfectly and works without any problems...
But my main problem stays: I can't use update functionality to update to newest Samsung version...
Does anybody have an idea on how to resolve this problem and just install original stock rom by Samsung? (e.g. resetting binary counter - not yet tried, etc....).
Do I have to do special procedure before installing N8010XXUCMA5 version???
Thank you all in advance for any help and/or ideas!!!
Best regards, Ingmar

Not really know what do you mean about boot.img, but I flashed my note using stock rom dozens of time without any problem, just Odin and the stock 4.1.2 rom.
I was thinking, probably the rom you downloaded was corrupted or something. I would do a factory reset from recovery mode and try flashing other version (older 4.0.2). Then do the upgrade from the settings menu instead. Probably you'll need to upgrade to 4.1.2 first then to 4.4
Resetting binary count works PERFECTLY, using triangle away (props to the dev; chainfire, purchased it immediately). You need to root your device to use it tho. And yest, GT-N80XX is supported (mine is GT N8000, Wifi-GSM).
hope that helps.
cheers
Thank you for your answer.
I tried now four different firmware versions (cma5 to cmk2) also with triangle away before (triangle away -> reset counts and status -> boot to download mode -> flash versions).
Neither of the versions work. The flashing by Odin 1.85 always fails between 20% and 99%.
Why this could hapen??? Does anybody have an idea or suggestion on how to get an official version of JB and recovery on N-8010???
Best regards,
Ingmar
