I can get few days out of 1 charge using it about 3 hours a day (on full brightness) well last me 1 whole week on 1 charge! and standby is even better I left it on for 3 days not using it and only lost 5% of charge!
The issue:
I can not seem to find away to root the tablet so if anyone can help me on how to root Intel Atom Z2580 that will be awesome!
I tried this method http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/android-hacking-tweaking/root-teclast-p89mini-e2w6-5135.html but adb will not let me root my tablet. everytime i try to write cd sdcard/root it says "no such file or directory" so just to check I only did cd sdcard and same thing "no such file or directory" so it is not even reading my sdcard.
Also if anyone has any questions in regards to the tablet let me know and I can try answer it for you .
Thanks!

Have you copied the folder ROOT from PC to TABLET using USB? Connect tablet using USB and open in file explorer of PC and copy the folder ROOT.

Hi,
I brought P89 as well, can you guide me step by step how to root the table.
Thank you.
Is it worth for buying?
What is your opinion? (pros and cons)
Thanks
Can I find anywhere any custom roms for this tab? Generally P89 mini is great but on original ROM we couldn't move apps from internal 16GB to our sd cards, I have 32GB microsd card and I want to move some apps there and I can't :/ And there are some similar drawbacks And I think this device is enough powerfull to work on android "kitkat", but officially we have only "jelly bean" What do you think guys, it's possible to find something interesting or not?
One up for luki_92_92
now Asus zenfone with intel z2580 are Updated with kitkat.
What about p89mini ?

Sorry for long time but I haven't seen your post. Yes, Teclast P89mini and his clons (in Poland we have for example GoClever Insignia 785PRO, i have this tab and devices are compatible because I've used soft from teclast) have update for 4.4.2 Kit Kat from some time
Teclast P89
please make sure you copy the files to your main tablet memory after connected to a pc and no to an external sc card
ls command will sow you the way (is the same as dir command in dos).

I dont like that there was no Android Market installed when i got it, only "AppCenter" which just has around 1000-2000 apps and many of them are not so good,
Is it possible to get Android Market on my tablet and if so, can anyone here tell me how ?
Thanx
Can anyone here help me to get Android Market on my tablet ?
ditto
tryin to ask the same question for the same reason just OS1.6
Install Applanet. Same as Android Market, almost same apps, commercial ones are cracked, all free are in... Works almost the same as Android Market.
get it here: http : // applanet . net
I'm thinking of getting a Transformer and dock, and want to use it to backup photos from a fast compact flash card (via a card reader) to an external 2.5 inch hard drive.
I'm pretty sure this will work, but wondered what sort of transfer speeds I would get. Using a computer I can get about 23 MBytes per second from a SanDisk Extreme IV card (about 1 photo a second ).
If it is quick enough, it will save me having to take a computer on holiday with me.
Could somebody (or lots of people) run a test or two and post up some results please ? A comparison with equivalent tests performed with a pc would also be useful to gauge relative performance.
Regards,
M
Can anyone help with this ?
Just a quick test to see how fast the transfers can go ?
Thanks in advance,
Matthew
Hi Guys.
What I was thinking is blooming genius, but I need an Android and electricial engineer to look over it to se if the theory is sound.
What I want to ask is could android support a JBOD array through it's Microsd (theorectically)?
My plan is basically to get a PhotoFast GM-5500 (see below) and use it's array and controllers as a base remove the casing and USB port and then either:
1 - Create a microsd interface so that it plugs into the current microsd sd slot
2 - solder it onto the micro USB pins to it's always connected.
Anyone interested in the practically of this, I was thinking of doing it to a Desire and then getting the back cover for a battery extender (see below) to create the space to house the array.
Mostly impossible because the OS, and the processor doesent know how to understand memory larger then 32Gb.
I've seen that the Samsung Galaxy Tab comes in a 64GB flavor with additional 32gb MicroSD slot. Is it just honeycomb that can support it or are you saying its a physical limitation imposed by the SOC?
In windows, or on Linux - what limites the HW expansions?
If you have a HD movie like 6Gb and you want it to be on a FAT16 partition it's imposlible. So if you have an 64Gb of RAM on a PC do you use it all??
It's about 0 and 1
I'm not sure what point you are trying to make...
Firstly, I'm talking about Android as this is the Android hacking forum.
Secondly I never mentioned HD files, this is irrelavent to my quesiton.
Thirdly, I didn't talk about file systems, however I will now, I was thinking 90% FAT32 ( Easily supported) and the rest EXT3 for system and apps.
Fourthly, I never mentioned RAM, I'm on about Storage.
I've tried to find a tear down of a 64GB Galaxy tab to see if they are using an SSD or flash memory ( i know they're mostly the same).
The galaxy proves it's possible to store more, I'm just wondering how the devil they did it and can it be replicated on the cheap?
Ok, m8 how will you tell the mother board, and the processor to alocate that extra storage, and how to write partition on it? It's not the OS itself, it's the whole thing.
Dont you think that Android development didn't think of that? To lets say put a small SSHD (solid state hard disk) to Android performance with dual core processors, and stuff
If tou think of extra lagre OS - then take a PC and run a Linux distro or a Windows.
For that mater buy an new Azbox STB with Android on it
This is what i was wondering, if it's only honeycomb that's able to do it then updating will soon be possible .
If we say theoretically we have Honeycomb on it, and the cards are partitioned correctly ( using gParted before being installed in the phone).
I know it's not possible to start swapping major components out of the phone.
I'm thinking of an SD array as it's already got the firmware to address SD, an SSD would require some serious OS tweaks.
I think we're getting a bit off topic of my original question, which was would/could Android support JBoD array?
Ok - there is no difference is there an 64Gb, 160Gb of an external storage - is it an SD, or an SSD, or a floppy. The point is that OS+CPU+MB of any now available phone is able to understand addressing 0-es and 1-es to extra storage.
It's like with old PC mother boards with old BIOS-es, HDD then couldn't be reckognised if larger then 30Gb.
So are you saying its possible?
Lets simplify it a bit, will android support a JBOD (Just a bunch of Disks) array?
Yes or no.
Forget the size of the storage, is really irrelavant to what I'm asking.
From simple to complicated.
Android OS - Yes (rewriten to match CPU and MB)
Android Hardware - NO
Android completly new level of development - Yes.
Bump.
Any ideas if this is possible?

Its much better just to dual boot ubuntu by yourself insted of using wubi. Uninstall wubi first
just shrink one of your partitions down about 20 - 200 gb, depending on how big you want you ubuntu part to be. then make a live cd or usb with the iso and boot up from that. from there its pretty straight forward, just tick install alongside system.
also, you will probably get more help on the ubuntu forums

Have you tried checking out System Settings -> Hardware -> Additional Drivers?
Hi all, I do not know where to write sorry.
I made a video that speaks a thousand words:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNeXQZAAqQs
My device is not really an Android TV, but almost. !!
And a video projector DLP handset with Android 4.4.4 on board a really nice contraption !!!
Model: MediaLy LED Beamer DLP 3D-K100 HD
Taken on amazon.de, in Italy it costs more!
How come I realized that lacks the pull-down notifications, but this could be the will of the manufacturer to make it less intrusive and lightest Android while watching movies.
THE SERIOUS PROBLEM however is un'laltro.
You can not download anything from the browser or programs like Kodi on "SD Card".
In the settings it is to be present but not seen as free and occupied space has. Furthermore, the item "install memory" appears to be selectable, but nothing happens if I click.
I tried it with "Aptoide" and he manages to download files by putting them in the "/Storage/.Aptoide/APK" position. Even if I try to write on with a "Solid Explorer" works!
So this makes me think it might be related to the fact that the system is not able to understand the available space and then refuses writing.
And also that the will of the manufacturer or is defective?
If it were the will what I'm doing with 4Gb SD Card unusable?
