I just got my nieces Samsung Galaxy Trend (S7560) after repairing her iPhone4 which is apparently the exact same phone as the Ace 2 + (S7560M). It is however very different from the Ace 2, Ace + and Ace. The Roms etc. are incompatible (obviously since the hardware is different). It's a mess trying to find the stuff for the Trend/Ace2+ since I have to enter the Ace/Ace2 thread which is completely useless.
Galaxy Ace SoC: S5830 - 800 MHz ARM 11 - MSM7227 chipset
Galaxy Ace Duos SoC: 832 MHz (no more info on GSM-arena)
Galaxy Ace Plus SoC: S7500 - 1 GHz Cortex-A5 - MSM7227A chipset (extra stuff)
Galaxy Ace 2 SoC: i8160 - Dual Core, NovaThor U8500, Mali-400 GPU
Galaxy Ace 2+ and Trend SoC: S7560/S7560M - 1GHz - MSM7227A, Adreno 200 (Enhanced)
Galaxy Ace 3 SoC (comes in two versions, 3G and LTE): Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 (3G) / Dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait (LTE). Broadcom BCM21664 (3G) / Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400 (LTE) (ie. 3G-version and 4G-version(LTE)), Broadcom VideoCore IV (3G) / Adreno 305 (LTE)
There are more such as Ace II Duo.
They are not compatible with each other (firmwares, recoveries, kernels etc.) and my suggestion is to simply make threads like:
Ace S5830
Ace Plus S7500
Ace Duos S6802
Ace 2 I8160
Ace 2x S7560/7560M
Ace 3
..just like the difference between the high-end Samsungs like Galaxy S, S+, S2, S3, S4 etc. to make it easier. Could make a master thread simply called Samsung Galaxy Ace (all models) and under that a sub forum for each model.
Just my 5 cents for all of us that own Galaxy Aces that aren't Ace 1.
Thanks,
Scyphe

Okay, change confusing to time confusing and messy to find info about a particular phone that just happens to have Ace after Galaxy in the name. Afaik there's basically 1-2 threads that are about S7560/S7560M. It's simply difficult to find the latest information about my particular phone since Trend isn't even a listed phone in the "Type To Find Your Device...".
Now there's a Trend Plus just released and an owner of one of those won't find anything about it unless they know the actual model number (I don't know it's model number. Then there's the Galaxy Trend GT-S7392 where the name is exactly the same except for the model-number which on my phone is Galaxy Trend GT-S7560.
Yes, Samsung is releasing soooo many phones these days, even with the same names but with differences in hardware and supported firmware etc.
The Ace thread is still focused on the older Ace (GT-S5830) and Ace 2 (GT-I8160) while the Ace II x/Trend and newer Ace-models are flooding out the gates of Korean or Chinese factories as we speak being cheapish bundle-phones.
I just want a little more user-friendliness for all the various Ace-users that have totally different phones.
It is easy to say that. You think that we like to have your (ace 2x - trend - whatever ) posts in ace 2 section and that we like share forum with old ace ? Phone that have only 1 thing in common - name ! Ace 2 is at least 4 times better than ace 1 in every segment. Come on, ace 2 is not legacy and more not low activity device. We almost splited maybe 2 mths ago but new devdb system made that impossible so we are waiting for devdb system improvement to be able to move devdb threads. Then ace 2 can get own separated forum. You ace 2x - trend users can fight for spliting from us because you dont have devdb threads. Try asking moderators maybe you get at least get 1 sub-sub forum like ace 2 have 3 ( development, qa and general )

In case it was aimed at my post:
Well, I agree with every single word you wrote and that was my whole point. The Ace 2 has a 800MHz dual core CPU, the Trend / Ace 2 x have a single core 1GHz MSM7627A/MSM7227A chipset (depending on where you look for info) with "Adreno 200 enhanced". We can't use your ROMs and you can't use our ROMs.
Please
I have a Samsung Galaxy Trend s7560 , which have android 4.0.4...I think that this phone trend/ace II x needs a separate thread like other samsung phones !!
1. Its called a forum

The samsung galaxy ace 2 VS the samsung galaxy w.
These two very similar phones are driving me insane, I can't choose between them, so I could really do with some help.
Part of it comes down to lower power duelcore vs more powerful single core.
But there is also NFC capability, and how all this effects the battery?
Is powering two cores worse for the battery than powering one huge one? ram is also a concern, average vs better than? is trading processor for ram ok, how will that effect the experience?
The prices I can get them for ace 2 £220 (this price does not include unlocking it) http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/choose-tariff/SAMSUNG_GALAXY_ACE_2/PPAY/NEW
galaxy w £230 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-I8150-Galaxy-Free-Smartphone/dp/tech-data/B005HBKGXS Help me android community, you're my only hope.

Thanks for reading this far!
I've personally had the galaxy w/exhibit ii and loved it. It was fast and zippy and the screen was amazing. I think it came with a single core 1.0 GHz processor and 512 mb of RAM, so it was pretty fast specs wise. There is also a sizable amount of development for it as well. Also $200 for a phone this powerful was well worth it.
I don't know much about the galaxy ace 2, but I can personally vouched for the galaxy w.
Ace2 better than w

I think Samsung galaxy w better, because the CPU Clock is 1,4 GHz and Ace 2 is only 800MHz. These both is NOT UPGRADEABLE TO ICS .

Hello guys, so I recently sold my Atrix 4G and have been on the dilemma on which phone to get... I am currently looking at these 2 models:
Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (i727) | (Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon - Dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion - Adreno 220)
Galaxy S2 (i777) | (Exynos C210 - Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 - Mali-400MP)
From what I have read seems like the i777 features the best performance CPU/GPU compared to the i727 but I would like to know by what margin, will it be noticeable? (Performance is very important for my occasional gaming).
Also I like my phones to be backed by the community with lots of rom's to choose from (CM10 is a must for me) and from the 2 I'd like to know which is the most future proof and offers the biggest developer crowd? NFC Support is a must!
Other opinions are welcome!
Also on a side note should I just fork the extra bucks and get a Gnex? I like the community support offered for it but the camera and lack of external Sd-Card just doest cut it for me. Also how does the CPU/GPU of this one compares to the skyrocket?
Thanks!

1. The Exynos dual SCREAMS, especially when compared to the Snapdragon S3. If the Skyrocket had a Snapdragon S4, then you'd have a decision, but trust me, after owning the Sprint GSII and the Evo 3D (Exynos and Snapdragon S3, respectively, I can tell you that for gaming and everyday performance, hands down the Exynos is the winner in every category. The Adreno GPU in the S3 is terrible for any high-end gaming (Grand Theft Auto 3, Dead Trigger, etc). I myself game heavily on my phone, and I'll tell you straight up, the Exynos dual very powerful and still very viable.
2. The Galaxy S II i777 has NFC, though no Secure Element. What does that mean? It means you can't use Google Wallet, but you can do pretty much anything else, like Android Beam and NFC Tag interaction.
3. The i777 is identical to the i9100P (i9100 with NFC), except for the button layout. You'll get much more support than with the Skyrocket.

It's an older phone. That's how I'll summarize it. The chipset is fast but not fast enough to play the latest and greatest smoothly.

Hello!
I have purchased a Samsung Galaxy Core i8262 (dual sim) and to be honest I'm really happy with this smartphone because it is Dual Sim and lag free (or if you prefer, it has the same perfomance with a Galaxy S2 GT-i9100)
However, I am in a dilemma. I'm thinking of replacing it with Samsung Galaxy Grand because it has slightly better features.
The pros are these:
8.0 MP Camera and [email protected] video recording against 5.0 MP Camera and [email protected] Video recording
1 inch bigger screen
1.2ghz Cortex A9 vs A5 (same GHZ)
And the only con I have found is the 30euro price difference.
1) Should I replace my Samsung Galaxy Core with a Grand?
2) What have you heard about Core and Grand? which is better?
Thanks for your time

Yes. Galaxy core is a par phone. But it does lag once all the messaging apps are installed.

Hi everyone,
My girlfriend is interested on these phones and asked me which of them is better for gaming/general performance.
Looking at both phones, I see:
Galaxy Grand I9082:
- Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9
- Broadcom VideoCore IV
Galaxy Win I8550
- Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A5
- Adreno 203
I've been reading lots of reviews on both phones and even direct comparisons.
People look at both phones and say: "It's a quad core, so Win is better", but from experience I can tell this isn't always true... In the end it all comes to the processor architecture.
However, in this case, many and many people who reviews these phone say that Galaxy Win has a better processor.
So the question is: Which one has really the best performance?
Also, which GPU is better?
Thank you in advance!
Any help, please?

Why not Grand 2?
Because of the price range, it's a lot more expensive than what she wants to spend on a smartphone...
