Hi everyone, I've read that some people have been having trouble with unlock codes for their HTC One X. Recently, I experienced the same issue as I had a One X but I was on T-Mobile.
I found a code seller on eBay did the *#06# and got my IMEI, received the code and it did not work. Tried this multiple times, with multiple vendors and they all sent the same code.
But, I found out what was wrong. With all the popping the SIM tray in and out I realized that their was an IMEI written on the SIM tray, but it did not match with the IMEI on the phone. So, with nothing else to lose, I entered the IMEI number on the SIM tray, received the unlock code, and to my surprise, my phone was SIM unlocked!
If anyone is having trouble unlocking, try checking to see if the IMEI on the SIM tray is different from the IMEI on the phone, it worked for me!
I have the same problem with my htc one x but the sim tray is blank

Is it not detected? You may go to telco and have a check.
I don't know why no one else thanked you.
This is awesome advice and worked for me.

Hi,
I recently unlocked a Vario III. It was successful in the sense I could insert a new SIM card without it barring me from starting the phone, I do end up getting an error when inserting the new SIM, "Phone Not Allowed MM#6". Does anyone know what that means? I inserted a T-Mobile SIM and while it doesn't give me the error, it doesn't connect to the T-Mobile network either.
I'm mostly curious to know if this is a defect in the phone, network, or the unlocking procedure.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Wow........digging in the graveyard.
Have you check with your carrier to make sure that the sim you are trying to use is enabled for the network and not locked . The sim unlocker, unlocks your phone to use any sim. It does not unlock a locked sim card.
Have you ran the sim unlocker?

I'm in Bolivia. I have a samsung galaxy s, I unlocked with SUperOneClick (for rooting) and sgs tool to unlock it. Then after using a local carrier for about two weeks my phone got the mm#6 error. I was looking for solutions, and then my brother realized that I have to register the phone with the line (IMEI with line). Here in Bolivia exists a law that block phones if they are not registered at someones name and Id. So with nothing to lose, I called assitance of the carrier and register the IMEI I found in the Android menu (About phone>status>IMEI) with the GSM chip/line I have. Wait for 20 minutes and voilá! phone got signal and it's working now. I hope still working from now and on. SO IF YOU HAVE THIS TROUBLE CALL YOUR CARRIER AND REGISTER YOUR PHONE'S IMEI WITH THE LINE YOU ARE USING, IT'S SIMPLE. YOU CAN TRY THAT BEFORE GETTING INTO SOFTWARE STUFF.
HOPE THIS HELP SOMEBODY.
GOOD LUCK!
Any idea what I can do to get rid of this?
I have unlocked bootloader, installed recovery and rooted the device, still this crap pops up after inserting a different SIM card.
when bought seller claimed the phone was locked under Vodafone, but it is my understanding that Vodafone doesn't really blocked phones, besides I have unlocked the whole thing, if I install a custom ROM this would solve it all right?
Nvm try paying for a sim unlock code cellunlocker.net has it for 8 bucks well thats the quote i got

She tried all 00000000 (8 Zeros) but it didn't work, I'm starting to be concerned now as all the other measures haven't worked.
Even http://www.cellunlocker.net/htc-unlock.php
is reporting do not order if phone comes under Vodafone (Spain) which is the case.
I'm wondering if installing a custom ROM after a full reset could clear the issue!?
PUK Code
have you tried using a different sim card? As far as i can tell it looks like you have been locked out of that sim card. The only way to fix this is to get the PUK code from your service provider and enter it in. The default sim card code (the 4 digit one) is 1234 or 0000.

PUK as well as PIN is a combination of 4 numbers which she has.
She is being asked to enter the SIM Network Unlock PIN which is a combination of 8 numbers
As for a different SIM card she will try tomorrow.

if the phone is locked under vodafone then u need to get a unlock code from vodafone or buy a unlock code from some website(if ur trying to use it for another network). thats probably why u keep getting that message.

hi guyz.. need help badly... what do you think is the problem? I tried "Quadrant" app and all was nice and I had 5000+ score however during the 3d test where a planet was rotating, the planet stretches intermittently during that phase.. I dont know what was being tested at that time but I think it will give a clue.
Note: I also encountered this strange stretching/flickering effect on lane splitter, where's my water and train conductor 2. I also saw random/intermittent text stretching on google map application... please help...
so i got the code to unlock the sim using the one from the back of the phone, since when i enter the code the phone dialer it says invalid mmi code. inserted a tmobile sim card put it doesnt recognize it on my phone and wont ask for an unlock code. wondering if there are any work arounds or anything i can do if i flash or root it. thanx in advanced:good:
I'm curious about the same thing. I got an unlock code, but when I put a t-mobile sim card in, nothing happens. Don't even think it's being read.
I even went as far as doing htc dev unlock / s-off / root, but still nothing.
Entering *#06# in my dialer also does nothing. It just says the call has been lost.
Hi,
Does anybody know if HTC One SV (Cricket) technically can be used with any other GSM carriers?

Hi
I have the same problem I would like to know if you finally fix Invalid Sim.
I have done many thing but still showing invalid sim
Please reply
Thank you
Elias
So there is nothing we can do ?
I got my unlock SIM code
But how to use it
I put invalid SIM nothing happen!!!
i too wondered the same thing eight months ago when i wanted to go to at&t. everywhere i looked i couldnt find anything on my sv, only reviews of when it came. so i kept digging and the more i dug the deeper the mystery got. if everyone is referring to the pim code being an unlock code you are wrong. that number is used to sync your contacts with MS i will just say that the cricket one sv is well special. i now own 17 of these things and they are not all the same. i currently have 5 or 6 different variants of the cricket one sv with two different versions of sim card slots. to answer the question, there is always a way. try searching for things like.... PlayStation mobile, htc zara, htc pico, daemon8975, goldfish, intel q45, gcc 4.?.? ive tried everything except adb. honestly its not worth all the work, it might surprise you though. good luck to all

I have a polish sim card which works fine with my other Iphone, when i insert the same sim card to my nexus 5 it can't register to any carrier !
Why is that, is there any solution for this bizarre problem ?
Thanks
You tried the sim with an iphone (works) and Nexus 5 (doesn't work). Did you try the sim in a third phone?
The Nexus 5 cannot be carrier unlocked because it was never carrier locked.
I don't have a third phone. Do you think that I should flash another radio ver. on the phone?
The Nexus 5 detects the sim card? If it does detect the sim card, I think your iphone's imei is somehow tied to the sim card.
What does it mean?
And how can I resolve it?
I would really appreciate any help ?
P.s.
Apparently a different sim (vodaphone) doesn't work in this phone either.
???
Has the vodaphone sim been activated?
If both sim cards do not work in the phone and the phone can see but not connect to networks, it may be possible that the phone is blacklisted? Is the imei correct?

That's friend phone....so....
He said that the sim (which doesn't work right now) worked before. I don't know about the Vodafone sim.
How can i find out that this phone is in the blacklisted?
Thanks again,
You can check the imei here: https://swappa.com/esn
Since the vodaphone sim is not active, it is not a good test of the Nexus 5. It would be best to try an active/working sim in the N5.
1. How can I know if my phone tied to the sim card ? (you mentioned it before)
2. Do you know this website http://www.imei.info/
Thanks
I don't know that site but the swappa site will tell you if the phone is blacklisted.
The only way to tell if the sim card is tied to the iPhone;'s imei is to try the sim in another phone to see if you can connect to the carrier network. In the USA, AT&T tie their prepaid sim cards to a phone imei.
As I mentioned before the sim card worked fine with my iPhone.
But the "fishy" story here is that the Vodafone's sim card doesn't work as well.
So it might be a blacklisted issue.
Your thoughts?
Did you check the imei on the swappa site?
Note yet
I would check the imei to make sure the imei is not blacklisted and does belong to a nexus 5.
I updated my friend to do so.
Thanks
I got a Galaxy S8+ from Telus (Canada) Phone works great with Telus SIMs, phone is not black listed or anything. I am with Rogers, so I purchased a unlock code from https://www.mobileincanada.com/ , took like almost 2 weeks.
Code finally arrived. when i input the network unlock code, the phone right after asked me for a PUK. I figured Id get a PUK from both Telus and Rogers (knowing the PUK is attached to the SIM)
I entered the Rogers (Sim carrier) PUK and did not work, entered the Telus PUK (Phone carrier) and did not work ether.
SIM works fine with other phones, and the PUK is asked for with any SIM I enter.
Anyone know what might be happening? How to fix it?

PUK (Personal Unblock Key) is usually mentioned on the SIM card (The Bigger part) itself, and if you have not received it in the starter pack, You can always call up the network provider and ask for it. Also, Attempt first with just one sim in the slot to identify which one is asking for it.

PUK (Personal Unblock Key) is what i got. As mentioned , my carriers SIM card is the one asking for it... Its only the SIM from the phones carrier, telus that doesnt... every other carrier asks for it.
I have tried 3 different carriers. The PUK message appears each time. I was able to change my SIM cards PIN using the correct PUK.... The phone starts, boots up and then it tells me the SIM in not valid. Network locked I need a PUK.
