install jed (english-japanese dictionary) - android - General Questions and Answers

hey guys, I want to install english-japanese dictionary. I didn't find any better that JED (if you know some tell me - OFFLINE DICTONARY(with database I suppose). I installed JED but it's required to download and install the database from internet (but I don't have internet on my phone). I searched anywhere on internet(on my pc) but I couldn't find it. Anyway I downladed them on my friend's mobile with internet, and I sent the database files to my phone via bluetooth. But now, I don't know here to put them and how to inject them (sometimes I got some freezing to the app or it doesn't detect that I copied the database at all). NOTE: not just copy, but implement and inject them... TNX IN ADVANCED !

installing certificates

can anybody help me how to install some certificates? I need one to connect to the wifi in my school.. I tried make a cab but it do not works..
Copy the certificate file to your device, open file explorer and click the file You should see message "Certificates were installed"... I think that's all, at least that's how it worked for me
It does not work for me .. I have tried it.. It says it can not open such file
Try using .cer files. If your school doesn't have those, try googling some converter from other formats to .cer
thank you a lot..it worked...don´t you know how should I use this certificate when I´am logging in to the wifi in school?
just turn on Wi-Fi and follow the instructions on screen. You will just have to choose correct encryption type, input username and password and then it will automatically use installed certificate to ensure that the connection is secure.

Hi, why do you think your own certificate will help?
GNAngent.exe is part of Google Navigator, maybe uninstalling (or reinstalling) it will solve your problems as well.
Anyway, here is a mention how to install self-signed cert: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281723
You can also try DisableCertChk utility.

Make rom file from PND?

Dear,
I am new on this forum therefore I do apologyze if I am posting at the wrong place
I have a nearly no name GPS (Magnum PND 2735) with Navigon on it.
It has Windows CE 5.0 on it (some references if it can help/ 00039-267-519-955 and X11-1532).
On the internet I found a program called MioPocket (MP, I can't post a link here, google will find it easyly for you). It allows you to get acces to the OS of your GPS and also allows to use other GPS programs (with a handy user interface).
Now I first used an older version of it with no problem. Then I installed the latest version and I had some troubles with some softwares so I decided to remove it again an reinstall it. Unfortunately it must have gone wrong; Now the GPs does not start, I have the startup screen working and then nothing starts. I suppose some drivers must have been deleted.
Now I have acces to my GPS with a USB cable to my computer. I have acces to the root of the GPS (Windows) but a lot of files are secured.
I have a friend with exactly the same GPS. He copied a maximum of files (able to copie) for me but it didn't work.
As a lot of files a locked I looked out for a rom file but did not find one. After a lot of research I found this friendly forum. I know my problem has not to do with HTC phones but the solution might be the same.
I would like to know if it would be possible (and how) to make a rom file from the OS on my friend's GPS and then how to install it to my GPS.
Is there specific software requested? Is there a procedure on how to make a rom file from a mobile device? Is it possible to make a rom file from any mobile device?
I do hope anyone can help me, I was so happy with my GPS.
First of all I thank everyone on this forum, you are all friendly and helpful.

[Q] How I install Dropbox on Andriod.

Dear People,
How do I install Dropbox on Andriod without WiFi? Can't I just upload it on the USB ? Please help I am searching like 3 hours for now and I want free games Non-Market . Hope you guys can help me
Greets,
Spooky.
Bump... I am still searching please post if its possible or not.
Is there some reason you can't download it from the market over the cell signal? I downloaded it from the market while not on WiFi, and it installs, registers, and downloads files just fine.
Also, if you are connecting via USB cable, why don't you just mount your SD card, and transfer the applications to the phone that way?
Unless someone has a stand-alone Dropbox apk, I don't know if you can install it over USB.
interested
i am having the same trouble. will try your other idea

Okay, if you have no internet access from your phone, then I'm not sure if Dropbox will help you out any. It is just a tool to share and download files on the internet.
If you can find the apps/games you want in ".apk" form, you can download the files to your computer, and use your computer to install them to your phone. The generic way to install apk's to any Android phone is with adb. It's part of the Android SDK. Do a Google search for using adb to install apk's, and you'll find plenty of instructions.
Something I ran across on the internet that you could also use is HTC Sync. It's supposedly a program that works with all HTC phones and has an "Install" function. I have a Samsung phone and have no idea how this software works or exactly what it does. I'm sure if you do a search for it, you will be able to find plenty of instructions.
Oh yeah, no matter which way you install these apps, you will need to go into Settings -> Applications and enable "Unknown Sources." This will allow you to install non-market applications (which is what you're doing).
Hi
First of all you need to be connected to Internet ...
From there you can type in this from inside your phone https://www.dropbox.com/android
Or you could go directly to Market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dropbox.android&hl=da
If you need a new account you can use this invitation Dropbox.

Luks Manager - Truecryp alternative

Hello,
I found on xda an alternative for Truecrypt. The software is available in the market, the name is Luks Manager.
I installed it (you need root), however there are some problems - the program will create a volume but can not use it.
Please if someone is interested in that kind of software (and I believe anyone storring valuable files) - test the software and tell me if it worked.
Regards

[Q] Bluestacks Date and Time modification

*NOOB HERE (to the forum)
Would like to know if anyone has any idea how i could force bluestacks (android for PC) to use my pc D&T instead of the D&T from the servers...
*I know that i can modify the date and time manually but i am attempting to preform a system modification.
(For the people who need to know: I would like to be able to change my D&T of my "device" while other programs are running...)
Side note: does anyone know what URL/server bluestacks generates its date and time from?
Reason: I could divert the URL using my local "hosts" DNS file on my PC...
Thanks for your time
J
PS: Sry for such a strange question on my first post
