How to root N9977 correctly - General Questions and Answers

Hi everybody ,
I have a N9977 6inch screen phone, with Android 4.1.1 Build-number e1911_v77_jbaol_g88_v20_20130111
But now I want to root it, so that it can run on Android 4.2 or higher.
Is there a way to correctly root it.
b.d.w. I'm from the Netherlands.
Is there also a way that it update it self, just as a Samsung Note or Nexus phone.
I know it's allot what I'm asking.

hi EKsandcake, I am also owing a YP GB1 too, I have not rooted it yet and still waiting for the method!!
haha, just wondering. have you found any method to root it yet? superoneclick and so many others never work..do you have any experience with other android devices? or is this your first one?
Nope, i am using stock room now,
This is my first Android device. I just switched from Symbian
Have you tried searching YouTube. That's where I find alot of info on rooting. Good luck
I'm afraid we'll really have to wait until the 4.0 and the 5.0 get released in the US. Hopefully then we'll get the pros developing these devices, if they become popular enough. And Apple won't interfere with sales as they did with the galaxy tab 10 and 7 in Germany...
When rooting: have you tried rooting from a mac or a pc? I understand that there are some differences.
Hey guys, the YB G70 (5 inch version) has been rooted successfully.
You can see here for more details

The latest official update from Samsung/AT&T is Ice Cream Sandwich, not Jelly Bean. It's also not available OTA (Over The Air) because of its size; you need to download Kies (basically Samsung's version of iTunes minus the store) and it can install the update when you plug in your phone via USB. If you want Jelly Bean now, it's going to be rooted, and it's going to be quite buggy. Expect many random freezes and reboots.

Newer SGT2 10.1 model comes with bootloader protection or something? Still rootable?

I just bought my new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 2 days ago and I love it. When it comes the root part I have 3 questions related to it. Specifically is the model GT-P5110
1) Does the newer tablets comes with bootloader locking chips? It happened to me once with the iPod 2nd gen. long time ago. The newer model (or MC model had a bootloader feature that was blocking the jailbreak). Does this happening to android tablet? Just to be sure.
2) If yes on the 1st question do I have to be care with root? My tablet comes with Android 4.0.4. I didn't update it. Came with pre-installed 4.0.4. So which guide do you recommended to follow in order to root this beautiful tablet ?

I'm thinking also for the second one. I'm scared for the 1st one since it's working good for 4.0.3. I don't take any risks. Any confirmation about my choice?
Sorry for being noob. I have rooted many Android devices in the past and I need some help. As you know every root (for each device) is different.
Thank you

[Q] Rooting Galaxy S3 running official Android 4.3 JB

Hello all,
So, same as the title, I have wanted to root my Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3.
It is a factory unlocked device, and I am not bound to any contract/ISP/telco.
I have seen some posts in some blog that I can use Odin and CF-Auto-Root, but I am not sure if it will work or if it will add another brick in my house. I am also concerned on Samsung Knox and if anything unwanted happens if I root it.
Can anybody pinpoint me to a good tutorial here or anywhere?

[Q] New OS for Blu Advance 4.0

I know the phone is older but it's what I have right now. It works well and is running Jellybean 4.2.2.
Is there a new version of Android that I can upgrade this phone too? If so is there a guide? I'm a complete newb when it comes to this. I don't even know how to root the phone, I know I need to do that but that's about it.
Thanks,
