i Don't think so.
It's hardcoded in either the Shield which has Tegra profile for Streaming or may be on the PC side which does the encoding job & send to Shield over the air(wi-fi).

I'll ask around, and if not, would turning up the saturation on the PC via the NVIDIA Control Panel change it on SHIELD?

Cranked up the saturation to 72% on the nvidia control panel it looks crazy on my monitor but it doesn't seem to take effect on the shield

Cool features that actually work

Thought I'd make a thread for things that do work well on the Sensation and may make people stick to this phone until the other issues are resolved.
DLNA function: I spent a few hours putting my Samsung TV on my network and I can send video, pics and music direct from my phone to my TV via Wifi from anywhere in the house and its very very good. I have a film in AVI and it steamed perfectly.
Forward SMS to email: I think this is in 2.3.3 anyway but useful when phone it unusable like at some work places.
Built in streaming: I can scan music, videos and pics from a file server and play them on the phone directly with no additional software.
Lexar 32 gig MicroSD Class 10: Definitly works fine in this phone. Check Amazon
Built in slideshow as wallpaper: I like having different background images randomly and this is good for that. Point it at a folder full of images (I have a folder full of downloaded landscapes, sea, etc., type images specifcally for this. It replaces the need for things like Wallpaper Rotator. Only snag is that it changes the images every 30 seconds or so so it maybe CPU intensive (doesn't seem to be though). I'd rather it was hourly but can't see anywhere to change it.
Please add others as you find them.
Lockscreen icons and lockscreen animations: I like having weather animations or my photos spinning around under the lock screen, looks cool. Also being able to change the lock screen icons does make that feature quite handy

Make sure you have Wi-Fi turned on
(Also ensure Media Centre on your PC is set to share music, videos etc)
Go to Gallery
At the top where it says ALBUMS, click and select Media Servers
Select your PC
Mine says Media PC: Media
then it will find the catagories of the files it can find, you just chose what you wish to play
It really is that simple!!

If your streaming server is any good it can transcode .mkv on the fly to something the phone can play.
I'll go try it with an MKV file right now...bear with me, wife has the remote
I am using Windows 7 as the media server, btw
No good with MKV. None of the players on my phone will play it natively even though my Samsung TV plays them fine from a hardrive or memory stick. On my phone I have Divxplayer (or demoplayer) and moboplayer and they wont play it on the phone itself, let along anywhere else. Need a player that supports these. I think the Desire used to play MKV with Divxplayer but I don't think it likes the Sensation resolution.
Anyone any ideas?

Thanks! That is simple! Not tried it yet, but presumably it will work with the built-in Windows Media Player server of Windows 7, and also TVersity, just like my PS3 does and can see both.
Could you please advise as to whether HDMI mirroring works, particularly in landscape mode?
Also do you have a Wiimote? The BT stack should support it but I see people asking this question feverishly as though they're concerned... I think it should work, but now everyone's casting doubts in my mind.
PS. You're a lucky bastard lol... I'm dying to get a Sensation!!

wii mote will not work because htc sense messes it up it does it for all sense devices
Rock player supports mkv also try using skifta to stream it via dlna
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Rockplayer may support MKV but it doesn't like the resolution or something because it drops out as soon as it starts to play. Actually Rockplayer plays MKV fine on my wife's Desire so it must be a resolution issue because as the Sensation is qHD

Alternate solution: If you are rooted, you can use screen cast to record your screen directly. Or use HDMI output to record on another device, which should work independent of the tablet.

I've checked a .mov video recorded on iPhone 6 but can't reproduce this issue.
Are you using latest version? One of old version has audio track selection issue.
I have updated to the latest version on Google play. You may wish to check it with a video taken by Iphone 4 then. If you cannot find one please tell me where I could upload for you a sample,

Also try HW+ decoder, it can detect audio track better than HW decoder.

Selected hw+ and now it's ok. My tablet is HP 10 android 4.1.2.
Tell me please, is there anyway to get truly full screen viewing experience? I mean whereby black bar with three white dots at the bottom will completely disappear?

I think HP 10 has software navigation buttons.
Check if following options is checked: settings > Player > Software navigation buttons.

It has and its checked. The buttons are not visible during the playback. However the issue is that I get a "black bar" of about 1 centimeter at the bottom of my screen, at the place where those buttons are.

It is issue of old Android tablet UI, typically happens on Honeycomb and ICS but your device looks like following ICS UI layout even though it is JellyBean actually. There is no workaround for it, unfortunately.

You can use an app to hide the notification bar, they require root though
I have the HP tablet that seems was developed for Indian market (and they sell it in Thailand too.) I tried a good number of rooting ways, all of them weren't successful.

Tablet's official YouTube app doesn't allow manual resolution change?

Hey all,
I got my daughter a refurb Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd gen, tate) tablet for Christmas.
I rooted it via simple adb exploit, I threw Cyanogenmod 12.1 on it days before the site shuttered and GApps 4.4.x
It has root, it has the Xposed framework, but that's besides the point.
I live in the boondocks and all we have is slow DSL. She loves her YouTube. She can stream YouTube on all devices in the house with no buffering but this tablet. This tablet is the only tablet in the house (the rest are phones) and this tablet doesn't allow her to tune down the resolution to something super pixelated but large enough resolution that there's a good readahead.
I can't figure out why it won't allow manual adjustment of resolution on this device only.
Can you help?
I've fiddled with some Xposed modules - YouTuber, YouTuber+, AppSettings. I was thinking YouTube is detecting it's a tablet and treating it as so...or something. Both YouTuber and YouTuber+ don't seem to force resolution or do anything. AppSettings allows me to adjust DPI and Screen Resolution for the app, and while I notice modifications to the app itself, the viewport for the video still is viewing at 1280x720 (when I click Stats for Nerds).
The video is always playing at 1280x720. My internet just can't support that. I want to manually select a 320p resolution and pixelate the crap out of the video but give her a non-buffering video. She would be so happy with that.
Please help. If you know of the proper settings in AppSettings for Xposed, please do suggest. I don't know what I'm doing. I seemed to try everything and again, it changed the app but the video itself stayed at 1280x720.
Thanks in advance.

Easy Projection

With Huawei video and old Panasonic excellent video and audio. No studders or skips.
Phone did get a little warm streaming a 1080 to the TV, split screening watching a 1080 on YouTube, surfing and fast charging at the same time. No skips jumps or studders. Damn this phone is powerful.

If you use Google messages you can. I bought a little USB c dock with an HDMI port and a few usb ports so I could use it like a laptop. Wonder if the house x3 works with it.

That's exactly what I am doing and Google Messages isn't showing up in the EMUI desktop mode. And like Chrome won't work windowed. And YouTube is only going to 480p for some reason. Kinda confused by the weird restrictions.
Ok... Some apps work more properly if you maximize them, close and reopen. For whatever reason this allows HD in YouTube and brings more proper TV interface on Netflix. Still haven't found way to fix Chrome to work in window.
Now having trouble with Netflix not showing video. Is this an HDCP issue maybe? No errors... Just no video other than in mirror mode.
BTW, why don't any reviews/rundowns point out the flaws of these desktop modes for media consumption. Notice prime video app won't even start on the EMUI desktop. It's not a total deal breaker... Just more of these limitations need publicized so Huawei can try to address.... Well them and google. Weird part is like NFL app won't allow mirror, but somehow gets tricked into working mostly on desktop. Yet Netflix and Prime won't work on desktop... But mirror... Just that aspect ratio of device sorta messes up optimal mirror playback.... Sorta works though.
