I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE, rooted running Android 4.0.2. I recently noticed (while playing Doodle Jump) that my accelerometer was slightly off. If I held the phone straight vertical (or laid it flat) the doodle would move to the left. In order to play properly I would have to lean the phone to the right to compensate. I tested this again with two different gyroscope apps. It's off by about 4 degrees (not terrible but enough to be obnoxious). I also used the in-app calibration option which fixed the problem, but only for that app. I re-calibrated my compass to no effect and did a factory reset to no effect. I don't know is this problem existed before I rooted as rooting was the first thing I did.
I'm unsure whether this is worth sending the phone back over (I can re-lock my boot loader if needed). Or if I did, would they even take it back for such a small issue? I've had the phone for about a month now. I would much prefer some sort of software fix. I understand that certain phones had global calibration options in the past. I have root access and am open to some hacking.
Any help is appreciated.
With all these smart people around here, nobody has any suggestions?

Yours wouldn't be the first with accelerometer issues.
Hello all!
i bought a Razr HD two days ago, and i have some problems focusing with flash AF Assist at short lengths..
As you can see, at 10cm from the object, the phone can focus perfectly without using the flash.
But, when i turn on the AF Assist (LED Flash), it can't focus!
The weird thing is that if i put a finger on the Flash, the phone focus perfectly at the same distance, 10cm.
It's like the sudden change of light prevents the phone from focusing, because it works perfectly if the AF Assist is on, and the object to focus is well illuminated (also, asi i said, if i put my finger on the flash, to avoid the abrupt light change)..
Any ideas?

I also have the problem, that my razr hd almost never focuses right...
the camera is horrible... i dont know if there is a way to fix this...
i also had the situation, that the cam focuses great and then: boom unfocuses again. stupid thing...
Yes.. It's sad, but.. Talked with a XT925 user, and he describes the same focusing issue on his Razr HD..
I don't know if it's a Hardware issue (mostly unfixable), or a Kernel or Library thing..
I hope the devs can see the origin of the issue!

Have the strange feeling its hardware related
dont know why, but motorolas are not the camera type of phones oO
the same here
WIll see, maybe an update to 4.2 will fix this issue.
Hi everyone,
I've recently decided to buy the OPO, so far it's been an awesome phone (coming from a Moto X 2014) but I have a question, as title says, what is this issue with the touch screen? I have no "ground" problems but I do see some kind of "stutter" when trying to scroll up and down while keeping my finger on the screen, is this related to the issue at all? If it can be fixed then it'd be awesome.
I've also read that it may be related to the weird 63 Hz refresh rate but I'm not really sure...
Any ideas? I've tried a couple kernels and played around with the settings, but to no avail..
PS: Does anyone know how to reduce the strange Android OS "battery drain"?
Hi all,
Just replaced the screen on an Lg G4 and I'm having some odd and somewhat inconsistent behaviour.
The phone is only picking up some some screen inputs, but once the touch screen is active it will detect all input until the touch "session?" is expired. This is best demonstrated in a video I recorded. https://youtu.be/wVREoSQUPtU
So it seems the digitiser is intact but refuses to recognise certain parts of the screen until the touch "session" is active.
Wondering if anyone can explain this behaviour and pinpoint if it's hardware or software related.

Update:
It seems the touch screen issues go away when the usb charger is attached. The device has been fully discharged as per the sellers instructions but despite these two fixes when the phone is running on battery the strange touch issues persist.
Still unsure what can explain this behaviour, but it seems more hardware related now that we can get it working with the charger attached.
Any advice?

Hello
I have an old Nexus 4 E960 which I used to love but unfortunately the digitizer started malfunctioning and the lower half of the touchscreen started detecting phantom touches. I kept the phone aside for 2 years but considering that all other faculties are working perfectly, it seems such a shame to just let it go to waste. Do you have any idea on how to put it to any use whatsoever? Maybe as an IP cam, maybe control it wirelessly while completely disabling touchscreen input?
I ve tried to set the boundaries of the screen to right above where the phantom touches occur but unfortunately the touches are still detected, although they dont affect anything right now. Without this fix the moment the screen is turned on it would start clicking this and that. But even though the phantom touches are not causing any effect anymore, they still trip the maximum finger limit (at least I think thats whats happening) and I'm unable to just use the phone from the top half alone as I had hoped.
Any suggestion is welcome. Right now I can't even unlock the lockscreen. Nexus 4 doesnt even support OTG so I cant disable touch completely and use a mouse to control it which would have been amazing. But I would really like to use it somehow. I mean its such a beautiful phone!
