I rooted my Xperia E SS a month ago. But I did that WITHOUT unlocking the bootloader, through SRSroot. Now, my question - since the bootloader isn't unlocked, is my warranty valid?
If not, will un-rooting my phone make it valid?

U wont lost varranty. If u root phone,u can unroot it. If u unlock bootloader you can lock it back
Sent from my ST23i using xda premium
Unrooting will help. And no. locking bootloader doesnt help unless you have a DRM key backup.. You loose DRM keys after unlocking bootloader.. that is.. gracenote doesn't work.

If u wanna relock bootloader flash with stock ftf and tick the relock option in flashtool...
Moreover...u shouldn't really re lock the bootloader if u are not taking him to service center....try flashing with the stock ftf(without relock).or try hard reset.....staying in touch with some senior member of the form will be good for you.
Thank me if I helped you.

Aaaaah I see. Thx. I will tell my friend. But, I'm gonna try to relock it by myself with flashtool. If he take the phone to the service center, what will "sony's experts" do with the phone? Sorry, I'm htc user so I don't know really well about sony.

Buddy,if u go to Sony service center with unlocked bootloader, then they will void your warranty..so u will have to service it yourself or take it to Sony service center after relocking bootloader.so to avoid the mess,u try flashing with official Sony flashtool Emma.it can be used with unlocked bl too.never try to repair via options in pc companion or update it as it will brick your phone.
As I mentioned earlier it would be helpful for u guts to chat with some senior member in xda I'm not a senior member...but whatever you do do not take it to Sony service center unless you have relocked the bl....
Everything is at your own risk so think twice before doing anything...

Hey! How's it going?
Got a little problem with Xperia Tipo... The status for unlocking the Bootloader says "no", and according to Sony's Official Guide, when it says "no", there's nothing you could do to unlock it.
I'm having a hard time trying to believe that, so my question is: Is there another way to unlock it, even if it says "no"?
Thanks in advance.

when it says no, bootloader is encrypted with something (i dont know) which now its hard to understand what you need to do to decrypt it...when it says yes, bootloader is already decrypted from company (maybe they forgot to encrypt it ) and with a code which you can easily find it by copy-paste your IMEI to sony official page you can unlock it....i think in the future someone create decryption tools which is only for these bootloaders...first big thing which created now is Flash Gordon which flashing anything zips you want (except roms for now) without having a cwm or twrp recovery...(this is special thing for phones which have locked bootloaders)
i hope that you understand (if no just tell it)
sorry if i make some mistakes

Want to save current language? Use pc companion > repair my phone. Then you can make it into .ftf and root it then.

Hey buddy guess you are a beginner...
Rooting your phone does not delete anything if the method used for rooting is safe.so nothing will change after rooting.
But from then on you can do anything with system files..
So unless you delete them, nothing will be lost...
And accidentally if u mess up,u can use repair option in pc companion to fix your phone( if you are planning to use simple root tools.and not unlocking bootloader)
Ps: after rooting you will have a temptation to edit system.files

Well.. i am afraid to root my Xperia J.. What if i do something wrong? what will happen? Will i be able to fix it?
Don't panic that much....as a matter of fact I too did first time..
Just try some one click root tool
They are safer
Try unlock root or srs root..they are pretty much fast and easy..
Since you are a first timer don't think about unlocking bootloader and flashing super user

You want control and still want to play safe? Do not unlock bootloader, just use roms for locked bootloader. If anything happened, just use pc companion > repair anytime you want.
