I wonder, how to turn Vsync off in our O3D? I want to check it's performance especially when running ppsspp.
AFAIK, it should be implement on kernel. Any ideas?

Rogers Magic 32A. Currenly Running MarsDroid 1.8D. Switched from CursorDroid an hour ago.
I have been benchmarking ROMs and I found out that no 1.6 ROM has compatible graphics acceleration. I get 3.2 fps with NeoCore on MarsDroid.
CursorSense works faaast probably because of the original HTC drivers that well made for Android 1.5.
Correct me if I am wrong, but there is NO way we(community) will get full hardware graphics acceleration unless we use official ROMS or their modifications?
Also: I have not run these test with Cyan(back with old SPL), but Iam sure that its the same on 32A.
Thanks in advance.
mars droid uses RAM HACK so no GPU accelertion there, Cursor doesnt so u get it
I thought RAM Hack was only for 32B???
I think it should be mentioned in the Rom description whether it supports hardware graphics acceleration . Just flashed 1.5. I guess I have to wait for official update. Staying with cursor till then.
I saw in a google + thread that android, since 1.5 version was software rendered, would our little GPU be able to render some launchers? If yes, i'm looking for a method to enable it, I think our phones would be a lot smoother and less laggy (I overclocked a little time ago but i didn't saw any difference)
JPQ Firmware rooted firmware
VOODOO
G3MOD Kernel NON-OC
MIUI Theme
most people say our little g3 doesnt have a GPU :'(
well youll have to edit the elg.cfg to enable HW redering though
Thanks, Well I'm going to give it a try, but our little SG3 has a smll FIMG 3DSE GPU, maybe Tom3q OpenFIMG will help us to have better smoothness then
GPU Rendering is one of the reason of the importance to get Android 4.0 working on our G3, because GPU is used for smooth animation and very smooth luncher .
I'm running CM9 arcee SK3, and like all the other ICS roms, it doesn't have video acceleration. What I'm wondering is, what changed between Gingerbread and ICS that broke this?
Also, given that the Xoom is also Tegra 2 and it has an official ICS rom, is there any way that could be used to bring acceleration to the G2x?

so, in gingerbread (and all versions of android before it) all video was done by software. this makes it slow ALOT slower than with hardware acceleration. i wont get too intense with the reasons, but basically it lets the GPU do like 100 calculations at once (hardware) instead of 1 at a time (software).
This means that it is MUCH less CPU and GPU intensive to render video. So the developers of Ice Cream Sandwitch (Google, not rom devs here) decided to make it mandatory so that it could be heavily integrated into the phone. (making things like 1080p video recording MUCH easier with a higher framerate).
They also made all of the UI rendering need Hardware Acceleration. now, im fairly sure the developers got HA for the UI working on this phone by doing the equivalent of writing their own drivers (no small feat). however Hardware Acceleration for video still does not have these drivers. (and we probably wont be able to dev them up, being as Video Encoding/Decoding is much more complex then just rendering a UI).
Now as for the Xoom, while it is Tegra, it's a different version of the chip, and because of this nothing useful can be shared between the 2.
Now, if you want video encoding to be done the old way, there are apps from the market that do it, i know MX video player is one that has a software rendering option and i think there is at least 1 video recorder that does it by software. Either way, until we get hardware support, there are options.
TL;DR: Its not broke, its just new, and we dont have the drivers for this new 'feature'.
Yeah, it's not to fun. I cant wait till we have it going! Just bought an extended battery!

Thanks, Klathmon, everything makes a lot more sense now.

Hi all, I installed chainfire 3.3 on my phone and I'm am able to select MSAA 4x but there's no option for anything higher. There's supposed to be options all the way up to 16x and apparently the I9300 guys get the 16x option. I've heard that if your phones gpu isn't good enough it won't allow you to go past 4x but so far I've seen that happen to the droidx guys. Surely the adreno gpu in our phones is far superior to the gpu in the droidx. I dunno if this is just an incompatibility thing with ICS or lack of support for the adreno gpu or what. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone else besides me even using chainfire 3d anymore? Thanks.
Hi!
I'm looking for a kernel that supports both CPU+GPU overclock.
I almost have already visited most of the kernel, but did not find GPU overclocking, do not nobody care about this issue?
In addition to Zeus Kernel 4.0, he did not support my machine is N8000, so I do not mind losing 3G capabilities, because I do not have to, but after trying it did not find GPU overclock control.
So people know about GPU overclocking in N8000 do?
Software I already have, I only need the kernel.
Thanks!
