[Q] Samsung galaxy tab2 p3100 stuck at battery logo, no response - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My rooted samsung galaxy tab 2 P3100 stuck at battery loading logo (see Image). I was restoring my nandroid backup from ClockWorkMod recovery. My device was having CyanogenMod 10.1 rom installed. When i was restoring nandroid backup, boot.img is successfully restored. But when it comes to system.img, it fails. After that bettery gets over an device get switched off. Now, when I am trying to start device on charging or without charging, it is not responding to any key press or any key combination (like Power button + Volume Up/down). the only thing it shows is battery loading ( see Image)
Hope I'll get help.. N thankss in advance.

Do you have any charge lwdr on the battery? If so unplug a thw cord from thw tablet. Then press and hold the power key. If the tablet cuts off after holding the power for what seems like an eternity. Then try holding the buttons for recovery while repeating the power button from before. I had a problem when I first ran cyanogen and had to the above method to start over. Once in recovery do a full wipe and reinstall the rom and you should be good to go. Hope this helps

Cannot boot into recovery

i have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 p3113.
i used heimdall to flash CWM into the tablet.
after what seemed like a succesful flash, my tablet rebooted. but for some reason, it would only go as far as showing the galaxy tab logo. it seems stuck there. i could not turn the unit off. i would hold the power button to force shutdown, but it always starts right back up. it seemed like i could only shut it down if it was connected to my mac while holding down the power button. i can however, boot into download mode.
after consulting google, it seems like the appropriate step was to restore the unit to stock. problem is, i can't seem to boot into recovery. i'm being told by the internet that to boot into recovery, i need to hold [power] and [volume down] until it turns on and then release [power] but keep on holding [volume down] and CWM will load. but nothing happens.
i know this is a total noob post, but i've been scouring the web for two days. i'm at my wits end. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think recovery mode accessed via volume up+power if you could not so use download mode to flash stock or so to return to normal operation

I press the power and UP ( button next to the power button) I normally hold BOTH buttons down at once and let the boot cycle process twice just to make sure i am going into recovery .....so i see the white samsung text twice i mean. It may take around 10 seconds to complete the process. Then release BOTH keys at once.
The battery needs a good charge for it to work.. Try charging over night before you try it via the mains supply.
Holding the power button and down will bring you into download mode and thats what you use for an odin/heimdall flash.
Hope that works for you
Let us know how you get on .....
Thanks. The battery of the gtab2 drained overnight, so i've got it charging back up now. Will definitely post my results when i have something.
Thank you guys. I'm able to boot into recovery now.
But unfortunately, i still need a little guidance on my original problem. And that problem being that my gtab2 will not startup. After rebooting, it gets stuck on the logo screen. It also plays a startup audio clip. But after that, it just displays the startup logo screen. It does not go into the animation screen and start.
I should also mention that when i plug my gtab2 into my computer, no drives show up.
My question now is, if i were to select [wipe data/factory reset] in CWM, would this restore my gtab2 to it's original factory state? Or would I need to flash a ROM for this? And if i need to flash a ROM, could i place a ROM on a microsd card and flash from there?
*********UPDATE*************
Everything is fine (so far).
I went poking around CWM and realized that I had put a cyanogenmod 9 update.zip in the root of the internal sd card before all this happened. So i went back to cyanogenmods wiki on how to install it on my gtab2 and followed the rest of the instructions on flashing it and VOILA!! I have my gtab2 back.
you should use ODIN instead CWM.
CWM is not designed specifically for Gtab2.

Bricked SG Tab 2 7.0

Ok. I bought this Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 from a friend for cheap because I thought I could fix it, but I'm running out of options. It's in a boot loop, but an abnormal boot loop. If it's unplugged, It will do the splash screen (Samsung) boot loop. If it's plugged in, either into the wall or into my computer via usb, it will do a battery (charging) boot loop. It's kinda weird. I used to have an Epic 4G and it happened damn near all the time, without the battery loop, but it would charge normally.
I haven't successfully gotten it to boot into Download mode.
If any of you have come across this issue, please feel free to help me out.
I also attached a picture of me attempting to put it in download mode. It reboots if I hit either VOL up or VOL down.
Thanks

Can you get into recovery? Also, have you tried unplugging the charging cable and getting into download mode with the cable unplugged?
I'm not sure how to get into recovery. With it unplugged, all I have to do hold the VOL Down physical button and ti will take me to a "are you sure you want to put the device into download mode screen". I apologize. I'm not to familiar with this device.
Edit: After I get to the screen where it asks me if i want to go into download mode, it reboots within 5-10 seconds, no matter which button I press

Hold power and Volume up (volume button closest to the power button) until the tab shuts off and reboots itself and then you can let go of both buttons. If it works, try doing a factory reset. Was this tablet rooted (or have a custom rom installed) in the past?

As far as I know it's been on Stock. My GTab ignores me holding the Power and Volume up keys at the same time and keeps the boot loop going strong.

Then I guess you can (and need) to send it in for warranty service (or replacement).

No, his device is fine.
If your device bricked, but still showing Gtab2 logo on it, it's still fine. You need to flash to stock 4.03 rom via ODIN. (Not clockworkmod)
Warranty won't work if you have flashed custom ROM before.

He needs to be able to get into Download Mode to use Odin. He stated that he can't. When he tried to continue into download mode by pressing volume up (vol. button closes to power button) the tablet reboots. It needs warranty service.
Experiments:
Power off the tab completely and charge completely and press power +volume up for 10 seconds then release, also try to power off and press power+ volume down for 10 seconds then release do you see any screens
If it says do you want to enter download mode or so press volume up and see if you could see (downloading) try also the same with volume down instead of up
Try to connect to computer do you see any messages indicating connections
Also try to connect to kies and try restore or recover firmware from options of kies
You said it reboots after 5 to 10 seconds so try to open odin and try to go to download mode and when you press volume up try as quickly as possible to connect tab to pc while odin is open

There's other method by using OpenRecovery (OR), by putting OR on external SdCard,
but it seems the OR for Gtab2 is not developed yet -__-

Unable to boot GT-P6200 in recovery mode

Hi
I cannot get my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (GT-P6200) to boot in recovery mode.
I tried the following:
1) Switch off the Tab.
2) Press the Power + Volume Up buttons simultaneously until I see the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus" screen, then release the Power button and keep pressing the Volume Up button. The tab then get's stuck on the Samsung screen, even if I release the Volume Up button. It stays on this screen indefinitely, only option is to reboot by keeping the power button pressed for 5 seconds.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Same problem
any help ???
On which verison thar ur on???? have u tried to wiping data in stock recovery
??
same problem I'm having with my Samsung Gt-p6200, it just boot-loops to the "samsung galaxy tab 7.0" boot loading screen and hangs.. these happened after i flashed my firmware from stock honeycomb to jellybean(the austria firmware, i think that's been posted in this forum).
here's what happened before the problem:
-I flash the stock honeycomb firmware with the jellybean one that i found here..
-after i flashed using ODIN, the new firmware works great, i was even informed that i have free 50GB worth of dropbox space,
the file was named P6200XXMC3_P6200OXAMC3_ATO
- I have used it for a day, until the battery drains and i have to charge, but when i opened it again, it already does this "boot loop" problem
- i have tried flashing CWM with ODIN(as i've read here somewhere that it might help) and do that wipe cache and factory reset thing but that didnt help solved the problem.
hope anyone could help me, im also thinking flashing it back to it's original stock firmware but I dont have a backup of that and I dont know where to get one, I've been searching the net for two days for that stock rom but all i found are the new jellybean ones and some old ones but is uploaded to hotfile which is now deleted or locked.
I hope you guys could help me out and thanks in advance!
try flashing a new , latest firmware on odin
just try it.

Hello guys! Im also having this same issue.
*Using the same firmware that was posted here in xda because i was having trouble downloading those official jellybean firmwares
*The battery got drained
then if i charge it, it will remain in a "blank slightly illuminated screen"
* after a few munutes, the tab gets really warm.
*but if i dont charge it, it will get drained again because it keeps on turning on itself back to this time to the "galaxy tab plus screen"
I cant access recovery mode.
I can access odin mode and can flash successfully with cwm or the same firmware back but the problem still persist.
I havent tried other firmwares though.
4 days passed already and i cant figure this out
Please help
So I had this happen to me yesterday, where it rebooted randomly on me, only to freeze on the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus screen. I had custom recovery (TWRP) don't know if that matters, but I was able to access it by holding Power+UpVol but keep it held. It would freeze on the same spot but since I was still holding the keys it reboots a second time and this time it would go into recovery.
I then wipes cache and dalvik, no go. Sadly did a full wipe. Still no going past the tab plus text. So I flash MF1 official 4.1.2 firmware (I was previously on 4.1.2 UK official) still no go. Put in latest 2.8 TWRP and booted into it still with some trouble as I mentioned above. Did another wipe and it then hung on blank screen or so I thought. Took a long time to boot and after a long time, and the Android is upgrading message, by some weird chance I was on the MF1 official rom but all my apps settings everything was saved.
Working 100% now and I still don't really know what the hell happened. But if this helps anyone then all the better!
My samsung p6200 is woking almost fine but i am not able to go into the download mode when i press volume down button and power the screen is at samsung logo it stays for a while and then it restarts from there, its the stock rom that's messd up i belive any help how to go into downlod mose other way would b apriciated

[Q] boots with half screen boot image and cant get to CWM recovery mode WHY?

im using a tmobile samsung galaxy reverb and i installed cwm and a new rom. all was good till i installed rom toolbox and i was using the boot animation randomizer. it worked fine the first reboot then the next one the boot image never left the screen but i can rotate my screen and see half of my home screen also go into all my apps but i cannot see the upper/left half of my screen. i held down the power and vol down button and it goes to into the warning page about istalling a custom OS instead of CWM. can anybody please help me out with this???!!!
Is I'm not mistaken.. You want to power off your device. Then press power, home, and volume up to get to recovery.. (Not sure about home). I do know that volume down sends you to "download" which is not what you want.

Try turning it off by long pressing the power button untill the screen goes off .... then follow the steps to open CWM ... press the power and volume up until Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 logo appears then stop pressing the power and keep pressing vol up and if it fails try with another turn off ... because trying to open CWM when the samsung logo is there wont work
Try to install again but if it fails again I'd try to re-download the rom... Hope you have an sd card reader cos the note WON'T be recognised by the PC....
You could also try to do a factory reset, format system, data and sd card, remove your external card before doing this so you don't accidentally loose everything there...
ok guys, fortunatly my note woke up and decided to enter in download mode...i flash the phil touch recovery and upgraded to the v8!
Many thanks to @wolvie80 who helped me
Cheers and thanks to the other guys who wrote there
