When flashin cwm in odin, uncheck the option to reboot after installation. When installed go directely into recovery (volume up, home button and power at same time) and install the root .zip file.
Reboot (via CWM menu). CWM on exit will ask about overwriting flash, just select no.
In your android, with a root file explorer, rename the /system/recovery-from-boot.p to /system/recovery-from-boot.p-bak
This prevents the custom recovery being overwritten on each boot of the system.
Maybe you have to re-install CWM recovery once more.
Worked for me :good:
Will try it. Thanks mate

As said above, just go to playstore and search for rom manager, by this way you won't brick your phone.

Even I'm unable to boot into recovery mode. I'm using the HTC One V.
I tried to boot into recovery mode by titanium backup, ROM manager, bootloader... But it just resets my phone.:crying:
You need to install recovery first by LGMDP or ROM Manager

use rom manager with precaution go to a good coverage area then use it
but i suggest u not to use it
as of myself it took my phone to fastboot mode twice
use terminal emulator method
but u should be rooted
download any recovery image(google it) and flash_image(google it )
place the flash_image in /system/bin and change it permissions and then place recovery.img into /sdcard/
and open terminal emulator (download frm market)
and type
su
and press allow
now type the following
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
and if i helped u press thanks
and dont use rom manager its too risky and i will say use amonra 3.0.6
insteade of cwm

Lolz.. flash a recovery simple. You are lucky that your phone atleast boots.
Dont use rom manager.. use terminal method.
rr0yy I have cwm flashed trough rom manager but many people does not recommend it, why? for me worked perfect
I heard that aroma recovery is better and you can edit files in recovery mode
what recovery do you have and it is safe to flash another recovery over cwm ?

Rom Manager used to be good.. but now it doesnt support our device.
(May be due to ICS and JB.. its been a long time i tried it on GB 'BUT' that is just a theory).
Me and many others have faced soft brick due to Rom Manager.
ClockworkMod stable ver5.0.2.x is good and recommended.
I use AmonRa 3.06 .
Yes.. you can flash any recovery over other.

what is your opinion abouth AROMA RECOVERY ???
There are many mod recoveries for P500. You have to try it yourself and see which one suits you best.
I felt.. CWM was incapable of wiping sdext and other things.
AmonRa works well.
> yep cwm is buggy, better use AmonRA or twrp now.
I think we all are going away from topic
Install amonra in the terminal emulator

CWM 5.0.2.7
I am using ROM manager to flash the CWM 5.0.2.7 into my P500. I read some said got problem but I have been using this for months in flashing my JB 4.1.2 with no issue. I do have a backup copy of AmonRa 3.06.
If you do not know how to use the terminal, Rom manager CWM 5.0.2.7 might be a good option.

You may need more info...such as stock or custom recovery, and the exact file name you are trying to flash.. someone may respond faster. Good luck.

I have stock recovery but it not allow to instal unsigned filed. I have downloaded stock rom from aftablonely786. Format my SD card . Put stock ropm file in SD Card. Loded the Stock recovery and choose wipe data/factory Reset. Got error E:failed to Mount/ system (Invalid Argument). System Mounted Fail. Then wipe cache partation. then apply update from External storage and choose stock rom zip
Try using a custom recovery like clockwork or twrp. may have better luck my friend. I have never flashed anything with a stock recovery. I didn't know it was possible though I may be wrong.

You flash recovery in download mode. Another boot mode. Just search how to boot into download mode for your device it will be another button combo after your phone is off. After you get that figured out search a custom revovery for your device. Then you should be able to flash a revovery from your pc. Ill see what I can find for you.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41434698 read into this after you figure out the download mode button combo.

To get into cwm , hold power-volume up-home keys ...
But don't hold it for too long , as it might accidentally select the reboot option on cwm and phone starts to reboot ( happened to me before )
Just try different timings in your holding ...
And if this do not seem to work, .... try reverting back to old v5...
As few others also have the same issue with v6
Hope it helps...

You have to download your stock rom and flash the recovery.img from it.
Yup, find a stock rom of you tablet and then put it on your device. Then just when it boots into recovery do a install from zip then select the stock rom that you put on the device. You could also try doing a factory reset from cwm but that probably isn't going to do anything.
