okay so these are the issues which are probably existing on Xperia e c1504/1505 stock Rom
1) phone goes into deep sleep when left idle for 10 minutes or more.. then when I unlock the phone is hell laggy.. the clock takes time to update after unlocking the screen..
>use soft locker(play store).it controls the phone from goin into deep sleep..
2)- the phone gets heated up while charging.. fingers can feel the heat while charging or after excessive usage
> im using ncase back cover (from flipkart) to control this though haven't yet figured how to stop this.
3)- after installing a lot of apps and then playing games like temple run 2/oz or any other game,the game lags initially and sometimes the game lags completely
>use entropy fixer(from play store) and fix entropy to 128 . this will minimize the lag to a larger extent.
4)- the music gets distorted when unlocking the screen on headphones when surround is switched on
>this thing as yet can only be solved by switching off headphone surround.
any other bugs can be reported/solutions discussed on this thread

I've found a better solution for problem 1 (the most annoying imo). The only thing you'll need is the SetCPU application (and obviously a rooted device) to configure the way your processor works. The solution it's quite simple, and consists in setting the cpu to performance governor while the phone screen is off, preventing it from entering deep sleep mode. I did a screenshot of my profile page on SetCPU to indicate the way i configurated my device.

I consider that solution better than using apps like Softlocker or No Sleep because these apps crashes often and they not 100% guarantee that your device won't enter deep sleep mode.
Any questions feel free to ask, sorry for poor english.

With this App you can activate the screen without using the Power Button.
Review on XDA portal
1.2 Review on XDA portal
The screen turns off and the monitoring is activated when you use the Widget to lock the screen or put the device on a horizontal surface, such as the office desk; the screen turns on automatically when you lift and tilt the device towards you.
There is also an option to lock the screen when you put your phone in your pocket; in this case the screen turns on automatically when you tilt the device forward.
It's also possible to automatically activate the monitoring when the screen turns off after the time set in system options or when you turn off the screen with the Power Button.

The application uses a little battery while monitoring because it prevents the device from going to sleep; you can then set how long it will be monitoring the movement of the device: the convenience comes at a cost!
To uninstall the app you need to disable the Device Administrator.

Very Nice App
this is nice
Tested on LG-4xHD..works great..thanks
Nica app works good on Sony Xperia E!
work nicely on Xperia S, NXA v3.2 rom
wtf! I installed it and it blocked my phone. When i pick up the phone it keeps vibrating and the screen turns on and off like crazy. I can't do anything with my phone because when i unlock it, the screen immediately turns off.
I put the phone for 10 minutes unattended and it calmed down, so i had time to stop and remove this.
HTC One X, newest stock OTA.
Nice is there a pro version ?
Love it! If I still think it's this good in a couple of days, I'll definitely be buying the PRO version. (As a longtime Nexus One owner who had two power buttons go south, I still cringe whenever I have to hit the power button on any phone.)
Tested & worked on Moto Atrix 2, its almost same as pocket mode feature on some ROM's
I'm currently using an app called Gravity Screen which seems to function much the same.
So far so good tested and working correctly on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105 (LTE). At first i was worry the screen might turn on when i put it in my pocket while walking.Well, it does not work that way. It will only turn on the screen while the phone on my hand and approach my face. Good... i like it.
i hope the next version can have screen turn off automatically while the phone put on table without motion / while in the pocket.
It works pretty good on my Sony Xperia SP Nice work...
Apart of working as it should, does anyone test the power consumption of this app?. I love the idea but afraid of my battery drain.

From the OP, I thought it was intended to function this way. It seems not, in my testing. I second the request.
I really like the idea of this app, testing it ATM (curious about battery drain).
An idea I had was the option to have an option to keep the sensors active while charging (I don't care too much about battery drain while charging and often pickup my phone during the charging).

Hi !

Bugged Window Gallery ... I mean setting wallpaper from windowed gallery

There is also visualization of most frustrating problem that makes me get info from phone too late ! Its gets "lag" and slides down , showing only wallpaper , after that long waiting everything goes back to normal ... That's in every KitKat ROM for XL ...
Please inform me if fixed !
Lag in video recording during dark in all kk roms
Probably these:
- from time to time wifi (randomly) dies (can't connect because poor connection... standing next to the hotspot) can't fix it just clearing data/ cache (flash is the only option);
- lights problem, now occurring in carbon rom (brightness, led light, flash light);
- camera aosp apk fc;
- like u said, graphic bug on lockscreen, but only when screen wakes up for the 1st time after boot;
- heard that also gps problem occurs (idk if so because I'm not using it);
- camera quality is low (but on sony camera apk i got a problem that it flashes in the dark and lags as hell [probably only mine problem])
That's all I found, for now I'm using stable deodexed 4.2.2
Too bad that it's ram/battery consumption is so high.
That bug i described happens also in home screen and status and navigation bar. To fix battery drain check fast dormancy and undervolt CPU.
My cpu clock is always the lowest... That's not it. Wifi power consumption is horrible.
4.2.2 is annoying too:
- sometimes it crash and kill my activites (eg. browser tabs, movie);
- it uses 400 mb ram without google sh*ts, facebook and other stock apps against 200mb ram on latest carbon rom...;
- battery pls; (just recharged and got 80% cause wifi)

Edit 22 - 10 - 2014

I think development will be be resumed for Xperia L with the release of Android 5.0. Developers will try to fix bugs and start fresh with Android 5.0.
I hope so

Check if the device is constantly awake at the detailed battery information if you click on the graph.
If that's the case, search xda for "wakelock" and how to get rid of it.
An easier attempt is, to think if it's a certain app you installed recently or a change you made to your system.

Thank you for your response,
I'll Go ahead and download a Wakelock Detector By someone who works here at XDA, and i'll see if it finds anything; But as of now my battery died again; So i left it dead for 15 minutes, and now i'm charging it back to 100% with no interruptions

You could also install the ota update for lollipop and see if that automatically solves your issue. (new versions are being created to be better)
Another option is to flash the lollipop stock rom and try if that solves it. (but that's a bit more advance)
I suddenly got a similar issue - not as bad as yours but a drop in battery life. I turned off scanning even when wifi is off and turned on location based wifi and my battery life went back to normal. I'd just had a Google Play Services update and have had this issue with various play services updates in the past on other devices which is why that was one of the first solutions I tried.
Might be worth a shot if you haven't already tried it :good:
There's always Greenify.
Repair it or flash another ftf file.
Same thing here. Since I've had this when I purchased it new I've not had any good battery life. My old z2 had way better battery life and stamina mode works.
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk 2
Was there any update to this matter, OP?
What brightness options are you using? (% and adaptive or not?)
Also, did you actually update it to Lollipop? Was there any problem with wakelock?
Best regards.
Network & Wake Lock
The last screenshot you posted clearly shows that the battery drain is because of your Mobile Network and a Wake Lock.
Network Signal:
As signal strength decreases, the device requires additional power resulting in battery drain.
The cost of 1 hour’s worth of calls is 150mA, assuming a strong signal
So, on a 2000mA battery, it takes 8% of total capacity (8% =150 / 2000)
This means the same 1 hour of calls could cost as much as 23% of battery life (23% = 450 / 2000)
Wake Lock:
WakeLocks are a Power Manager system Service feature, available to your applications to control the power state of the host device.
Wake Locks can be used to keep the CPU running, prevent the screen from dimming, prevent the screen from turning off, and prevent the keyboard backlight from turning off.

Any help?
That's not normal.. it sucks. Will switch to LG G4 as soon as available.
how much of that was screen time using the battery?
About 3 or 4 hours max.. but I use it time to time. Wi-Fi and sometimes mobile data on cellular network.
Don't understand why the battery drain is so fast.
Stamina mode doesn't change a thing. Almost always on manual low brightness and I have to use my power bank (external battery) when I'm away.

I have the exact same issues, the phone was going very strong for the first 6 months (7-8 hrs SoT) and then it all went bad (3-4 hrs Max). I've tried MANY things and the issue seems to be **mainly** with Android OS and System (especially with mobile networks "staying active").
What kind of worked for me is:
Turn off "double tap to wake screen"
Delete any 3rd party alarm apps (clearly helped)
Turn off "Google Location History" in Google settings
Check for stuck sync
After doing all of this i got about +2hrs screen on time, but it all went bad again (even with them still off)... So I'm interested in your feedback and others' answers!
I'll try that. I assume Timely is a 3r party alarm apps?
Check out this pic.. battery discharging during the night and lost more than 20% by using it one hour (simple web browsing and stuff). I'm starting to hate this phone.
By the way, congrats for your 1st post

Yes I think we have the exact same problem, my phone discharges about 2-3% on airplane mode through the night. And as you said, my normal use means that I lose 10% to every 30 minutes of screen (under normal conditions).
Yes I mean Timely! it drained the battery on my phone and only showed up as a problem on Gsam and wakelock detector! i wouldn't have known otherwise, its disguised as Android OS or System!
Its very disappointing given that it was working very well before!
Stuck with the same problem.. and they boast about Xperia Z3 amazing battery life.. that device sucks. Switching to LG G4 as soon as available. Sony disappointed me, they failed me.
I use Timely to wake up because this app is well designed and I love the smart rise feature.
That said, Android says OS and screen process drains battery the most.

I think you should first try what I suggested for a day or two and see the results, should be an improvement, though I don't know how much...
I used timely for exactly the same thing, but as all google products these days, it drains the battery I'm really dissapointed with Google more than Sony, I have the same problems on all my lollipop devices (2 nexuses). Nothing Sony can do about it...
With flastool you can go back to KitKat if Lollipop doesn't perform good for you.
I have good experience with the .77 Version and still have a backup of it in twrp.
You have a very weak signal (the red color) which is draining battery.
Android OS is the Kernel.
Use better battery stats which is free here from xda.
Also check app permissions of your installed apps.
And a calibration of the battery may help.
With full auto brightness and mixed 3G/wifi browsing and listening to music via Bluetooth or headset I have 6h Display on in 2 or 3days on Lollipop.
But prerooted / debloated / tweaked Rom .690 with good signal.
I know the signal is bad and is a cause I'm my case. I was living in Germany for a few months and got around 7h over 2 days, it halved when I moved back to jordan. However it's still getting worse, noticeably since I turned off and uninstalled many things (it got better for 2 days *6hr and then went back to bad *3-4hr). But still the point is why buy a smartphone if you have to turn off everything just to get it through the day. The problem is that you get the feeling that no matter what you do with the phone it still drains (which looks like a system or app issue because it does even when I'm only using Wi-Fi or even 3/4g on full signal)...
Well there is no magic button to improve the battery life.
Yes there is, Airplane Mode.

New update, arrowOS has a function which let's you turn off the phone and if you turn it on again fast enough it doesn't asks you for the password, its also fast enough that its almost unnoticeable, for gaming it wouldn't work but for day to day use its great, and let's be honest this phone was never meant to be used gaming anyway.
I also tried rooting and using magisk to install the magisk module of touchscreen by weareravens, I did notice an improvement, but its definitely still there, I think that's it folks, annoying but unsolvable.
I highly recommend installing ArrowOS its infinitely better, you do lose a couple functions like WiFi hotspot, and google drive access from applications( although I'm 70% sure I installed Gapps wrong) and the ability to use some of the banking apps ( I may have lost this when I rooted, I didn't check before and I think I could use them if I really wanted). It may sound like a lot, but honestly those are all the critics I can give, everything else is better on ArrowOS.
I have found a solution that has worked better than any other thing, you need root acces.
