I used the modem from this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111799
And flashed it in the phone section of Odin without a problem. But I noticed that under baseband only half has changed to lp11 but the second half is still showing stock.
My 3g coverage is awesome but my 4g connection is still suffering and wondering if because of that
Any idea why?
It's this affecting my coverage?
Is there a way to fix it?
I appreciate the help.

Ever since I flashed GB I have not been able to get signal in my work (3 bars on stock froyo).
I used the stock modem in Valhalla.
Then I tried KF2....
Each time I go to mobile networks, it wont even recognize T-Mobile, only shows AT&T.
I went outside at work, searched again, and was able to register fine. I do not think it is an IMEI or hardware issue because of this.
I searched, but did not find much.... is this odd or common?
Anyone have suggestions for this?
Thanks.
I've had the AT&T thing happen before with some GB modems, but only if I am in an area with really really week signal (like inside my condo). I flashed the KD1 modem, and it does work a bit better.
With KD1, I can get 1, sometimes 2 bars if I put the phone in a certain spot on my dresser, and it won't jump to AT&T.
Nice, will try that one now. Coincidence that I had t-mo swap my sim card yesterday. I am on the phone with them now to see what they can do, if anything.
I'll give it a whirl soon.
Well, called T-Mo... they tried some things... no luck. Flashed a few modems... no luck.
Now, it is working. Maybe just an outage here.
My buddy just rooted and flashed the Eaglesblood ICS 4.0.4 rom and noticed that he no longer shows 3 or 4 g just "E", and basically it goes nowhere unless on wifi. Did he just mess up an APN setting somewhere or could there be a wrong "radio" issue here??
Baseband-ril issue i guess. I use lg o2x though.
no speed
I have EB ICS 4.0.4 and I'm on simple mobile. I get the H by my signal bar but my speeds are worth nothing. I get about 120kbps down and 150kbps up. Maybe its baseband issue. I'm running m6600a-scautnz-2.0.972t 1 jul15 201 10:00:00 mp. Anyone has an idea if it will help updating it?
Thanks in advance.

No, updating will not help.
Well... actually, it might. But you'd lose being able to call(hearing/talking)
Update.
Buddy went to major city near by , got good data speeds, only shows 2g or 3g. but gets nothing near home town. Got at least 2g at home before now nothing...radio???
BTW Im new to this, what is baseband? ril?
Slow 3g
So it's not the phone but the carrier problem then? On the other hand I'm a truck driver and have tried the speed test in three different cities now. Still it's about the same.
A Little Background. When I first got my device I used the kexec method to flash a unofficial CM mod and lost my IMEI. I manually injected it back into my phone and flashed back to stock.
Now, I constantly lose my data connection for 15-45 seconds all the time. It happens intermentantly and is driving me nuts. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
Try flashing another modem, for me when I had the G1 modem it dropped data quite a bit. But try all the ones you're not using because some modems seem to work better for other people.

Change apn from ehprd to lte and it will change you're signal from enhanced 3g to evdo rev a witch Is standard 3g....
I don't have lte near me and has tremendously helped my 3g signal to stay at the signal level my iPhone 4s is being a pure 3g phone....

Thanks for the feedback. I will search the forums for direction on how to do these things.
So when I first got my phone the APN was set to EHRPD, and I just checked (1 week later) and it's now set to LTE and I never touched it and I am running full virgin stock out of the box... is this normal? Does it auto-switch?
I hear the modem might be an issue for a little while...hopefully devs get it fixed soon.
So are people having better luck on the F2 modem or the G1?
After reading the forums in more depth I guess lots of people are having this problem.
Looking for some advice on Reception/Low signal loss
To clarify i am near a tower.
I used to have full bars no less then 3
I tried flashing different modem--no go
I tried flashing new rom---no go
I reverted to stock GB--no go
Symptoms all started after I was trying to switch over to XperiaSlim Rom. Dont think that rom had anything to do with it but I was on Audiophile before that.
My signal strength is usually over -100db now. Any friendly advice would be appreciated. I exhausted all i know at this point and Google doesn't exactly give anything that could be used for us like changing a radio.
Go to T-Mo and get a new SIM card. With the merger, the towers currently known to your old SIM card might be somewhat odd.
Thanks I'll head there today to get one but weird and merger? Im not in a MetroPCS area....but heres hoping its a Sim card issue
Edit: All of the sudden on GB ROM the reception is now back in mid -80's DB to high 90's and now receiving proper reception. I dont know how it got fixed but I'm sure it was Tmo that was borked. I'm on XperiaSlim with LB6 modem rockin JB ^_^

I have one of the original GS3's that came with the 'No Sim' error from the factory. I have since installed CM10.1 and now instead of the error the phone just reboots. It works fine on certain towers but there are some Verizon towers I get close to and I cant place a call or text without the phone rebooting. Is there a different kernel or anything that someone knows of that I can flash to help this? I am getting tired of only being able to use my phone in certain parts of town. I have ran several versions of CM10 with the same results. Currently on CM10.1 RC4. Thanks

1. Kernels don't have anything to with the radio signal the modem however does .
2. I have mentioned this to others that your location and how well designed the radio is determines how good or bad is your signal strength.
3. You can flash different modems to see if that will help and here it is:http://goo.im/devs/invisiblek/i535/modems

Thanks for the response. Was the original NO SIM issue due to the modem? Also, are there any of the modems on that list that are preferred over others?

I honestly don't know as I got this phone 4 months after its release so that issue was resolved by then. Like I said in my previous post that your location and how well built the radio is determines the overall signal strength so the modem might not help. I live in New York City so I don't experience bad signal strength in most areas in the city. In the end you have to try for yourself as someone living one area won't likely to have the same results as you.
