That's pretty cool. If people weren't stuck on cable TV here in the US I bet it would be popular here too. It would be nice to pick up local digital broadcasts on the go. If TV stations were smart, they'd push this idea here. It could invigorate a renewed interest in over-the-air broadcasting. Someone here must have this idea besides me... they might need to overcome the need for the antenna, though. It's so 80's looking, and people care about that kinda crap. But, hey, tout it as 'the future of retro' and then it's cool again.

I doubt it. It looks to have something like a converter box built in, requiring an antenna. But who knows? Anything is possible by our devs, it seems.
what's app you run it on ? can run on su760 without 3G or wifi .. or not ?
For American and Japanese market, the TV-enabled LG phone (or any Android smartphones) would pull in ATSC digital TV radio, instead of plain analog radio. So Analog demodulator in SU-760 and P920 is useless in those country, unless it have QAM or ATSC decoding compatiblity.

There is antenna built in, as far as I know - took my P920 apart. But the TV decoder is useless in most country because it only receives Analog TV radio. Unless the RF chipset is listed to be ATSC / QAM compatible, it's kinda more trouble than it would be worth. But who knows? Android is full of surprises.

Hi guys first post in here getting upgrade soon was looking at the 3d looks good share it really like a quick good phone or just a gimmick other options desire hd HTC sensation se arc or play

If you don't think 3D is something you are going to use there is only really one choice phone and that's the Galaxy S2, I certainly wouldn't get the Sensation or arc over that phone its far far better in every way.
Having had a Sensation for a week and sent it back as I thought it was poor, had the GS2 which was mint phone but I sold it as I wanted a 3D phone and very happy with it, can't say how long I will use it mind might get the Iphone 5 when its out .
I like gaming on the phone but not sure what the battery drain is like also like watching movies are you able to just press the 3d button and it will change any movie to 3d or does it have to be shot in 3d

But is it any better than the O3D itself doing the conversion?
I tried a few video files and they have to be a good resolution for the 2D to 3D to work on the O3D itself. However it does work really really well.
So I have a phone and a gaming console.... Why don't they talk to each other?

Perhaps he wants free online and a better multimedia console. Perhaps he is intelligent and realizes the added cost of the PS3 is more worth it because you end up paying more for x box live and you get more in a PS3. Perhaps he likes to customize his device instead of being anal about how smooth the settings menu is. Perhaps it takes more to fulfill him than a bunch of tiles thought up by a microsoft employee's small child.

Not without knowing the pinning. CANNOT be done without opening the G2x and solder the pins with wire. But again knowing what pins to solder where. This has been asked and answered many times in the past.
Why would they put the chip in and not connect it?

lol, that was my reaction: "because they can"
It's likely something dumb like they can't get licensing in the US to allow it to function because it produces too much EMI and it's cheaper to just stick it there than rewrite the installation process (of course there is the factor of it needing o be soldered in which does fit). If you really want to know, try asking LG. And if you, post the conversation here.

Let me be a bit clearer: There is NO hardware in the phone to make it work. A ROM or any piece of software won't magically make the missing hardware appear.

Guys and Gals of XDA, I think I've found the Holy Grail for the Xperia Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.awindinc.sphone2tv&hl=en
A little app called MirrorOP Sender. Fully functional Android display mirror to PC and it runs fairly well.
Just played the first level of Super Mario Bros with only 1 death...Streamed from my Play to my PC connected to my TV through HDMI
All you need is the MirrorOP Receiver for the PC and you're good to go:
http://www.mirrorop.com/product_Windows_Receiver.html
The sender app is only a trial but it's worth a test. I'm not sure if the framerate is connected to how good your internet connection is. My internet isn't that good and it displays fine (portrait and landscape) but from some American speedtests I've seen maybe some of the Americans in here might have better results
Going to give ago. If works, extremely good find
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Not bad, not bad at all! Excellent find!
Just found out you can also do it the opposite way as well if you get the MirrorOP receiver for your Play and Sender for PC

Not worth paying for yet as just to slow for games. Can test out first as the apps are free for demo time. But this does have lots of potential in the long run. Still early days yet but if see how good splashtop is, this app good just be as good and fast with some more work done to it.

You'll have the option to select the TV's make and model from a list and it will auto tune the frequency for you. It will work with all kinds of TV's smart, dumb, HD, 4:3, etc... Can't wait for this one!
Hopefully cable providers will take advantage of this and offer apps that can control the cable box as well.
