I'm looking to buy a new phone sometime in the near future, but thought I would get some feedback from you all here. I have a HTC Droid Eris now which I hate, and been having problems with flashing ROMS and a bunch of other things. Anyways, to the point.
I'm looking at a few different one's right now.
1) Thunderbolt
2)Motorola Droid Bionic
3)Samsung Galaxy S2
?) LG Revolution
Just would like feedback from you all please.
Thanks for all your time and comments.
By far galaxy s 2 is the all around best. What provider?

It will be Verizon.
Yeah, the gsII blows the other phones away. If money isn't much of an issue and you can wait a couple (?) months, then definitely go for the gsII.
Yup. Word around the blogsphere is that US will be getting 1.4 ghz gs2's. Bionic might be nice if it comes out soon. Revolution isn't so great. And thunderbolt has awful battery life.

If u want to try to stay with HTC, then the Sensation rocks big time!
Phone
Thanks all. I think I can wait a few months and maybe thrown the cash out, maybe an work a deal for a new 2 year agreement for the G S2. Anyone have an idea as to when it's coming out and the $$$?
If your decision are stuck with Verizon on caming July new plan hhmmm. LG revolution is best

You think so? i don't have battery issues with my bolt as long as I plug it in on my way to work, while at the office, on my way home, overnight.....
If I don't go for the galaxy s2, which would be the next best phone to get with verizon?
Samsung's great -- as long as you don't have to use KIES (which is only good for firmware updates IMO -- at least, that's the only thing I use it for); I'm happy with every Samsung device I own (smartphone, tablet, television, a few other things)
Gonna be several HOT new phones by years endl.
I keep reading about several new phones due this year. Most promise to beat anything we have now. I love my Eris running GSB 3.6. Only thing slow about it is loading web pages, other than that it is a great little phone.
I'm still up in the air on which phone to get if any suggestions after the Samsung G2
Hey guys & gls
I'm Sprint premium customer. now time to change my EVO 4g which one is best from EVO 3D or Motorola photon ?
I know a both phones have dual core . Please I need help to decided
Thank you in advance

if you want to pay get the galaxy s2
Samsung galaxy s2 is great.
i would go for s2 on phone with dual core processor or thunderbolt if you live in 4g zone
++ Samsung Galaxy S2 ... it's lovely.
So far I'm using Galaxy S, and I'm loving this machine, if I had money, I've defenitivly buy SGS2.
I think it will between the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Motorola Droid Bionic, but need to get better reviews and comparisons when they both are out.
Well I just realized that it's time for me to upgrade the phone. Will likely give this one to the gf who's moving over to AT&T. So if there's one phone on AT&T I should upgrade to which one would you guys and gals suggest?

I was considering it, but does it make sense to get it if I already have an 7-inch HTC Flyer?
Sent from GrandAdmiral's phone using Tapatalk.
Personally, see no reason you should spend your upgrade at this time.
Ask yourself;
Is the phone still running Android? Or is the upgrade to android better then you have now?
Is the phone capable of doing anything further than you are capable of doing with it now?
What does upgrading provide you that you currently can not get/do?
If you can answer these questions with a yes and truely you get "upgraded" then using the upgrade is awesome.
But I just looked at the phones availble. You aren't really getting much of an upgrade and you'll likely spend 100+ on it.
I'd wait.
Just my two cents.
Personally I see no reason why you are posting this on the forum. There are other threads like this already and this forum is not even the place for questions like this. Can you not go to ATT.com or your local store and see the few phones available or read one of the other threads just like this.

Because it's a forum (the general at that) and being an Inspire owner, I thought it would be nice to get the opinion of other Inspire owners who might be in a similar position.
Sorry you disapprove. Kindly ignore this thread, or if you're that offended, click the report button.

Yeah no need to be rude.
To expand further on the Gnote though, I'd say it will be an extremely worthwhile upgrade. Screen size alone will make the device seem like a true "upgrade". Check out some video reviews of the device.
Or better yet, here's a good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBhEiiMd3qU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Great battery life (2500 mah)
720p display on a huge screen
S-pen ( which I hear works tons better than the HTC flyer stylus)
Lte
Just a few reasons why the device is so great.

Yeah... I'd wait until WMC to see what is coming down the pipeline. Maybe there will be something that comes out in the summer or early fall that you'd want more.

I would love to see if the Edge makes it way to AT&T, but time may not be on my side. Gf wants to move over from Sprint to AT&T no later than March. I really live my Inspire, but I've rather get me a new phone than to give it to an Android rookie.

my thoughts exactly, that phone should be a beast.
I would wait for the Galaxy S III.
See 2 problems with the One X. First, no micro sd slot. Better plan on limiting what you put on the phone. Second, battery is embedded. No way to pull or easily replace it. Bad battery means replacing the phone. Also, how do you deal with a bootloop?
hey guys
i have the opportunity to change my 2months old galaxy nexus against a brand new htc one s without paying something.
would you buy the one s over the galaxy nexus or are you happy with your one s
the galaxy nexus is a great phone. The one s is also a great phone..
if you can get the one s and it wont cost you a penny. do it
i got my one s for free too, Otherwise i probably would have stuck with my old phone (sensation)
but hey you got nothing to lose
I'm also in the same boat. If i still like the One S After checking it out a T-mobile store (im a bit worried about the screen). I am confident ill find someone willing to swap for a galaxy nexus
+1 for being in the same boat. The only thing holding me back is a few reviews I have read made mention of the sub-average reception on the HTC One S.
The reception issue was addressed by T-Mobile and a fix or correction to the software will be made to the handsets before the customers receive their phones. But I'm just recycling information. I take reviews with a grain of salt as far what people have to say about screen and such. Everyone has an opinion and compares said A to Said B. Check the phone out, if you like it get it. If not there are many other phones out there. Enjoy technology!
Cheers.

Hey guys, Just letting you all know I will be ditching the One S tomorrow... I've got the Galaxy Note.
I know your thinking ''WTF?!?!?!'' But i had so many issues with the One S (signal related) it was driving me mad, I was offered the S3 (at a hefty price) or the Note, for free, So I took it.
When I first saw the Note I thought ''OMG Thats Hideous, Its waaaay too big'' But the more I saw it, the more I liked it !
My other contract is up soon so I will get the SGS3 then.
So thanks to every one who helped me since day one, I will be moving on to the Note forums as of tomorrow
I will still keep my Help Thread updated as much as possible, And will continue to help as and when I can.
Take care & good bye

Ill still be around, Just not as much, Gotta get my head around the Note forums, Its a mess and theres a lot of serious issues, Including simple HardBrick by just full wipe in CWM..
This thread probably wont stay open long, But watch this space Il forever help you guys ! its the least i can do
I'm also considering to leave if I can except I just can't agree to pay the same price for a Galaxy Nexus that have much lower specs everywhere except with the screen and software side... (It's my only choice on my carrier (screw the Razr will ya?))
You are really lucky to have other choices like a Note.
I can't believe that HTC didn't offer a fix for the low signal... Oh, and there still no way to use Skype which I will really need starting next week...

4.3 qHD screen vs 4.8 HD screen don't count as a change?
.3mp vs 2.0mp front camera isn't useful too?
NFC, No-NFC? TouchWiz, Sense? LTE, No-LTE...
The GSIII and the One XL have little to differenciate, but we are talking about the One S here.
There's a huge difference but its value depends on the user and options.

hey azzledazzle,
i really appreciated the way you where getting on top of the issue with the virtual button mess, really liked your input. i counted you in for one who's pushing the issue further with HTC.
So, i find it a bit hard that you "gave up" on it but totally understandable on the other side. My One S is literally doing my head in (wife threw it at me in anger) with that perfectly unusable state its in. It sits there, playing with its screen and buttons just like its gotten its own mind but i cant make it do anything else most of the time.
So if it was like that for you, i can only repeat myself: i do understand. Still i find it a bit sad.
my opinion on the note: am working on it for my brother and i find it disappointing. Samsungs surface is stupid, KIES is like having one leg amputated, cant really go anywhere with that code, the phone hides anyones head while at it (just for the lolz of it), its too big. seriously.
And as a tablet, its too small. But as i said, my opinion
Good luck on your new adventures mister Azzle!
Hey mate,
Have fun with the Note, its been my primary device for 7 months now. Its a great phone. After a while its size becomes normal.
As for the comments above, i find it a perfect size, its like having a tab on you at all times. My only gripe is touchwiz, i do prefer sense.
Peace!

I can't say as I blame you. I getting pretty sick of my One S. Brilliant phone except it has next door to useless signal reception. It spends 3 to 4 hours a day without signal - which irritates when I know signal is good. What to replace with I dunno but this issue is likely to sicken me off HTC. Won't be the Note though as far too big for me
Galaxy nexus
Same here. After two months I am getting rid of it for Galaxy nexus $349 from the play store. We have minimal support for this device. Thanks to cm9 devs anyways.
It make no good to have powerfull phone that cannot multitask or have no completed custom ROM. And now Jelly Bean. By the time ONE S gets JB Google will announce next nexus probably this fall with KEY LIME 5.0
Better have slightly outdated hardware that prrobably will not be much noticable and have up to date software, vanilla or custom ROM with no issues.
And HTC and their delayed kernel source release. SIII released it before device was on the market. That how you get developers love.
I really wanted to love this phone, but yesterday I had a chance to exchange it for a new one in the box to see if it fixed my signal/wifi issues or get the Galaxy S3. Every smartphone I have owned has been HTC so I was nervous, but I opted for the S3 and all I can say is wow. It's an awesome phone and completely blows the One S out of the water for my needs.
I knew going into the the One S I would be making concessions on things I wanted such as an SD card slot and removable battery. Its a super sexy phone, but if you can't use it as a phone it does me no good, too many dropped/missed calls and poor wifi. I hope they do fix the signal issues for those who keep it and I'm glad some people were experiencing no problems.
HTC really needs to up their game on the next round of phones, I gave them extensive feedback online and they even called to follow up, which was nice. I told them I have owned a G1, MT3GS, G2, MT4GS and One S and enjoyed them all with the exception of the OS. I did have a seperate issue with them concerning the MT4GS and replacement parts that irritated me as well.
Best of luck to you all and thank you for all the help and resources from this forum!
Hi,
I am wondering if it is worth replacing my HTC Desire that I actually love and has loads of support and ROMs available. I'm currently running on the MildWild Oxygen ROM and it's great!
I have a budget of around 200euros which could get me a second hand HTC Sensation, potentially a Samsung Galaxy Nexus? Or for a wild card the HTC HD2 which I seem so see a lot of good things written about.
My question is,it worth it or better hold out another year, have a little more money and make a significant step up? And to what? Nexus 4 if I can get my hands on one...
Sorry, lots of questions there, but I would appreciate people's opinions on this.
Cheers

first off post your question here, its for anyone who is looking for new devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277
And imo, if you budget, is this small and you enjoy your current phone, I recommend not to get a new phone because whatever new phone you gonna get would not be that much better than your current one.
click thanks if helped
Well it really depends on your usage and needs. If your happy with how your hardware is performing than you could definitely save yourself some dollars staying around these devices you've mentioned. I know what you mean I was quite happy with my Desire HD (rooted running 4.1.1) however it cant quite keep up with todays mobile games and apps so when I broke the screen a couple weeks ago I decided it wasnt worth me fixing ( cost would be about $50) and took up my carriers offer to upgrade and got a Note II. But like I said, it truly depends on your usage and needs. Hope this helped your decision..
