did this work for anyone??
I tried my best to find the safest way to do this by reading but, I really just have to ask to get clarification.
I rooted a few weeks ago, using the one touch method here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644167
I just did this and that trick to be able to wifi tether and thats all.
ATT wants me to install that new update and i'm wondering 2 things, will it break my root? Or could I get rid of my root, update ATT then root that new version?

Hi everyone,
I just received an OTA update (my current version is 10.4.4.16 20120927)
I am wondering will the update break the root ?
Do we have to follow the same way to like how we update from ics to jelly bean or new method to do so ?
If it needs OTA RootKeeper, shall I make a new backup for my root or just use the backup which used by updating from ics ?
Thanks very much

I used OTA rootkeeper and temp unroot just in case. All stock apps are still there, OTA worked fine, was able to re-root again no problem.
Your question has been asked and answered about 10 times in the last week. A little effort on your part would have gotten you more information than this post.
Oh, and you are very welcome!

I did some search before I submit a new thread. What I want is just make sure I will not lose the root as worse as brick the device.
Anyway, thanks for reply again

Hey guys,
I just bought a used Galaxy S3 today and it gave me the option to update to JellyBean. I opted to defer the update because I wasn't sure if there were any advantages/disadvantages to rooting the phone from ICS or whether updating to JB and rooting would be the same thing. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance!

Take the ota. Follow the guide posted from above. Works flawless. And it wouldnt matter either way . But id just do the above guide. More simplier to me. Enjoy.

You can root the ICS with "Root Debug FS" then use "OTA Rootkeeper" to save the root. Take the OTA then use "OTA Rootkeeper" to restore then reboot and you will have full root.
Yes, JB OTA can be rooted, though it requires a few extra steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35418324
Is it possible to root the Droid Razr Maxx HD if it's not the developers edition? If so, could someone direct me to a place where I can do that? Any help would be greatly valued.

Root !
Use voodoo ota rootkeeper ... update to jellybean... restore root via voodddo root keeper !
I'll give this a try, Thank you.
Since I will lose everything, is there a way I can backup my game progress and things like that? I've looked this up and haven't found much.
