[Q] can i put d2g back to stock any other way - Droid 2 Global General

okay i dont have the total history of the phone however it goes straight to bootloader , and when i was sbfing it it would say on motorola screen and for some reason i cant get into recovery i tried the standard and different button combos such as volume rockers, holding x on boot etc etc any alternative ways or any verified links you could post would be nice i tried the reflash pack followed the threads on here and still nothing any advice would be awesome.

What does it say in the boot loader? And did you try to use rsd lite to flash back to stock.

And get into the recovery by holding down power and the X button and then press the volume rockers down to get into stock recovery. Once there try a factory reset and wiping the cache.

i have a charger stock everything. for some reason it will not go pass the boot screen. and keeps restarting. battery is full. can anybody help me out? Can i do a hard reset or something?
If you haven't modded it at all, it might be a hardware issue.

It might be an app you downloaded, though, you could try reflashing the stock rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108115

how about try to boot recover mode (this will wipe all data on your phone). Hold down Volume up and home button then press and hold power button until you see recover screen (blue), select recovery and press the power button to execute. Good luck and hope it's not hardware issue.
I had the same problem yesterday , I had to reodin to stock and it worked perfectly . But Verizon is still sending me a new unit . But it will work . Goodluck

if you dont get any response from your volume buttons, you can use odin. theres a thread here that explains how to do it through odin.

I read somewhere about taking the battery out and then plugging in the phone to usb with ADB running, or was it ODIN, it should boot in to download mode, and from there you can get in to recovery, I seen it done on youtube as well, I think you might need to press the volume up button when you put the battery in, hope it helps

2. Did you follow a guide? Did you use AAHK? Did you try to use a RUU? Downgrade fro mwhat to what? Specifically, step by step, what did you do?
Alternate method

It probably has something to do with the loss of power in the middle of your process. Was this the method you used originally?

I don't know what you've tried so far, but give this a whirl...
Push and hold the "Volume Down (-) button">press the power button. Hopefully you'll boot into the Recovery Menu. If you get it, press the volume down button and when you get to the "Recovery" option his the power button.
Your bootloader has been downgraded to a froyo version and you have a gingerbread shipped phone. Your phone is incompatible with this hboot. You need to use the hack kit to flash a correct version of hboot. Or do it manually if can't get hack kit to recognise your device when it passes the main white HTC screen.

You won't be able to use hboot. You have to let it try to boot and just hang on whatever screen it does. From there your phone is recognizeable via adb or hackkit. Both can be used to flash hboot. With adb use the fastboot commands.

That is symptom of a messed bootloader. How were you trying to downgrade? if you flashed a froyo hboot or RUU and your device was shipped with GB then you need to fix the bootloader. You are warned about this.

[Q] Recovery Mode Not Working

Hi Guys , I'm new to this forum. Hope you you guys can teach me. Currently, I'm having a problem with my Galaxy Tab Plus. I wish to root and Install CWM in this device but I can't get into Download mode . And whenever i goes into Recovery Mode , it just freeze I can't move up and down.
One more thing is I can't get into recovery mode by pressing the vol up or down with power button. I have to get into Recovery mode from Backup/Reset.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
First check your Vol+/- keys are working properly by adjusting volume up and down when running normally. Could be a hardware key problem.
Power on while holding Vol+ (nearest power key). Release power when you see the splash screen, but continue to hold Vol+ until you see the Android. Cursor will be on top line of menu, so you need to use Vol- to select anything other than Reboot.
May i know what rom are you in?
You may want to flash CWM via odin first..
Then from CWM.. install the root.zip..
This is what i did yester when i restored my phone..
Hope it helps

Stuck in bootloop with broken vol button

My girlfriends phone has been running liquid smooth for a long time. Last night the battery died and when she plugged it in and turned it on it stays at the liquid smooth boot screen. It wont go any further then that. The volume up key also does not work so I don't know how to get into recovery. What should I do?

Is the volume up button broke or stuck compressed? If it is broke you could go into download mode and flash 4.1.2 so she has a working phone. If its compressed you could try the wack method to uncompress the button.

Wait you need volume up to confirm download mode never mind.

yeah, i cant get into recovery or download mode because of the vol button. I just read about usb jigs. They force it into download mode? Do you think that would work? i don't know what else could if not .

I just watched a YouTube video to see if it asks for confirmation. He used a jig marketed for the s2 on the s3 and it went straight to a flash able state (no volume confirmation). So it looks like a good option for you. I think you can buy them for under a buck and if memory serves me you can make it out of a old cable and a resistor.
