[Q]Cannot flash Non-CM Roms(Status 7 error) - HTC Pico (Explorer)

I am a noob at flashing ROMs and but I had installed CM 9 and 10 without any problems. But recently I tried to install MiUi v5 and ProvisionMod but both are not installing. I got an error saying symlinks failed and Installation Aborted (Status 7) error. I thought that I burned my nand so I tried cute_prince nand recovery procedure. I searched XDA for countless hours but am unable to find a solution. Please Help!
Note: I can install all CM based ROMs and Sense based ROMs.

AFAIK status 7 occurs with corrupted zip/unfinished downloads etc
Have you tried mounting system sd card etc in mounts and storage
If all else fail check the recovery log - it should give an idea of whats wrong

extract zip file somwhere in your pc
go to system/app and delete some unimportant apk LIKE music.apk,latinime.apk,browser.apk...(do this with caution!)
rezip and flash

Problems trying to flash the CM7 Nightly build via CWM

I am about to give up trying to flash CM7 so here is my problem
When i select install from zip and choose the zip file, I get this message
-- Installing /sdcard/cm_galaxysmtd_full-181.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature

Now I am running Darky Rom 10.2.2 with Crysis Sensation theme and the funny thing is I am able to i am able to flash the10.2.2 zip file and the Sensation theme but nothing else..
I even was able to flash MIUI which I was using for a few days before I eventually got this same error when i went to reflash it
Anyone here have a solution to this problem because I am starting to give up
Any help would be much appreciated
Disable signature verification, and see if that works. Most likely a problem with your ROM, SD Card, or some magical obstruction making the phone not read the SD Card properly.

I disabled signature verification but still did not work...I can say it is probably a problem with my rom or sd card yet its odd that I can flash Darky Rom to 10.2.2, the key layout and a theme but nothing else...I am so confused lol
I flashed CWM recovery via Rom Manager which I read that I shouldn't of done...But I heard that I can flash back to stock then reroot my device...Any thruth to this? I just want to flash Cyanogen mod to my device, is that too much to ask lol
It's not a zip within a zip is it?

No it isn't
I know it has something to do with flashing CWM via Rom Manager because I wasn't able to flash any roms after I did that

are you kidding me?
i really wanna know why can't people read before asking?
you don't need clockworkmod to flash 4.2.2
and you can't, if it actually started, you'll actually brick it
do your own searching job in the whole s2 plus forum
there are so many complete guides around the whole forum and nobody reads and keep asking questions which answers have been provided already.
just as @KINGbabasula said
"if everyone is 'just asking', then the whole forum will be filled with useless and meaningless questions"
Ok first of all you dont need to be such nervous about it -.- ... Im a newbie and dont understand very well the process . Can you please post a link of it it will be appriciated . I will delete the post then evetybody will live in peace

erm,you have the wrong concept:
first of all,the method you use is for custom rom or any modded rom with zip file.
but what u have there is official firmware, which meant for flashing with odin(some sort of samsung's flashing program)
1)exact the file u downloaded until you got .tar.md5 in the end of the file name.
2)download odin 3.04
3)select ''I9105XXUBMH4_I91050XEBMH....tar.md5'' in the ''pda''
4) click ''start'' once u connected your phone in download mode(power+vol up+home button)
something like the photo i attached
Nothing happened

Brian was right, you flash 4.1.2 again, try to separate firmware and don't get confuse. This is the link
http://live.samsung-updates.com/details/13204/Galaxy_S_2_Plus/GT-I9105/SER/I9105XXUBMH4.html
Yep you have to know what is a firmware and what is a custom rom. Or you'll risk bricking your phone in your further flashing

I have Fastboot access to the phone when connected via USB to my Windows 7 laptop.
I am using recovery versions 5.0.2.0 for my Google Nexus One phone.
Flashing ROM: CM 10.2 Rom for the N1
How can I solve this issue, need your help. Thanks in advance. :cyclops:
Other things I've tried: Flashing the rom from boot.img from the zipped file via fastload
I also checked for assert command in the script file but there aren't any.

Hi,
Which version is recommended, the highest that is compatible. According to the ROM manager page of clockworkmod, this is the only one available for the nexus one.

you would have to get a ported (non offical: should work just as fine as offical but there could be some other added stuff.) version since you want Cm 10.2 5.x.x.x should work but just to be on the safe side you should try getting 6.0.4.5. should only have to download a zip of whatever you find and flash it in your current recovery.

I get Image Update Error when updating the 6.0.4.5 version. I've chosen on for another device because there isn't any 6.0.4.5 version for Nexus One.
I checked the free available space. In the SD Card I've have plenty (more than 2GB), but /system has 0% available. This might cause the flash to fail. Is there any option to free up space before I flash the ROM?
Update: even after formatting the system directory I still get the same error, this it not the problem so it seems.

your gonna have to ask the nexus ones offical Q&A then http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-one/help if i right with this problem you have to do something specifically and differently for every device so just ask the pros on your device first.

Status 7 error comes due to system folder being full.. I m not a nexus one user and its a common problem..
Open the rom zip of your file delete some apps from system/app then flash the rom..
This will solve your status 7 error..

[Completed] Failed to install cyanogen cm-11-2014*-icong.zip . Busted my Phone.. Help Urgent!

Hi, I read lots of posts here in xda on how to install custom ROM on my HTC Salsa, lot of times i felt bad as the posts always required my phone to be S-OFF. I couldn't find a nice and easy solution for this.
However somewhere i read that it is not mandatory to have S-OFF and which is when i just started experimenting on my phone.
I did unlock the bootloader from HTC dev . But i still have S-on.
I downloaded some *i9500 custom ROM and copied it to my downloads folder in sdcard. Tried to install the zip from sdcard from my CWM Recovery and it failed always. But then i thought that it could be the problem with image which i downloaded as it is not supported. So then i found one more post for HTC Salsa and downloaded the image from the link given in there.
Here is the link of that post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2745185
Here is the link from where i downloaded the zip : http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/icong/
Here is the image which i downladed : cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
After getting into CWM Recovery i tried to install the same and at first it looked that it is going to install but in some time i get some error like
set_metadata_recursive.... error STATUS 7. INSTALLATION ABORTED.
Then i thought i was doing to wrong and as per some post .. i formatted all the /boot /system /sdcard ....partitions listed in CWM.
Now my sdcard is completely formatted .
After i copy my image there and try to install the same :
I get :
--Installing: /sdcard/cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
E: Error in .sdcard/cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
I can't even reboot to my old ROM. .. Not sure if its lost completely. .. Need help urgently.
Please help me recover or reinstall any ROM just for my phone to come back to life again.
You have posted the issue in the right forum in your initial post. That is the right place for your concern. Please be patient and wait for one of the experts to respond.

[Completed] (Nexus 5) Error 7, made multiple mistakes, "assert" fix isn't working

As I understand, my situation is fairly specific, and so I need to address a few points:
This is my first time rooting a phone- I've made several mistakes but managed, at this point, to avoid bricking my phone
I'm using a Nexus 5, and flashing the pwnphone system (Android Open Pwn Project)
I've followed all the standard steps (except one... see below) for unlocking, rooting, and using TWRP as my recovery
I've also successfully flashed AOPP once, although I made an error I couldn't fix during setup and needed to reinstall
To my stupidity, I forgot to make a Nandroid backup on both attempts
I've just used TWRP to wipe my phone's Dalvik/ART Cache, system, data, and cache, assuming I could reflash the same zip I used before
MD5 check is disabled
Zip validation is disabled
Okay, so let's get down to the heart of the issue now. My phone is sitting here, plugged into my computer, I have a command prompt running, and adb is working properly. I try to flash THE SAME ZIP file I used, just before, to start from a clean slate AOPP install, and now I'm recieving an Error: 7.
I looked up the fixes for this, and ran into a problem: I'm already using the most recent version of TWRP- and I just made an alternate AOPP.zip where I removed the asserts from /META-INF/com/google/android/update-script. I was hoping this would solve my problem, but it didn't.
Now, instead of getting an Error: 7, I'm getting an "invalid zip format" notice with very little other information.
Installing zip file '/sdcard/aoppfix.zip'
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Invalid zip file format!
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/aoppfix.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done
Click to collapse
I have no idea what to do at this point. In my earlier error, I failed to make a Nandroid backup file- and much to my dismay- I can't even find one someone has uploaded elsewhere which I could use to at least have a functioning phone to to boot into.
Can someone please help figure out what my next course of action is?
Hi and welcome to XDA Assist !
I`ve searching and I couldn`t find that rom on the Nexus 5 development forums so it`s hard to figure out what`s the problem
Your attempts to modify that script are courageous but I`m afraid that is more than a script issue
Try to flash a different rom with xda support and you`ll get more info and help , good luck !
