Hi, I am new to the forum and have been searching for a download of ICS for the HTC desire s. The htcdev website appears to have taken the attachment down. Are there any other locations where I can take this download from?
Are there any major bugs that people have been finding now that this is quite mature?
Many thanks,
Andy

Look in the Index thread in the Dev forum, I'm sure you'll find a link in there.
As for 'bugs', yes there are loads as you would see if you searched first. It was released for developers, not for end users, which is why it was only on the HTC page.

If you have a custom recovery installed then you should flash this ROM. It was made by Skanob and it is the ICS update that HTC posted but it has bug fixes which makes it a better daily use ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859700

ICS DS v8.0
That´s my favourite Rom. Almost bugfree. If you need help you can contact me on skype: xxkaijayxx-m-etz
If you want to flash the 4.0.3 RUU from HTC make sure that USB-Debugging is activatet and that you have the HTC-Drivers

Official ICS is buggy and will give you annoying experience.
Instead of that root your device and go for custom ROMs. But before that do your own research and study by reading contents on the XDA.

Indeed! That's good news Hope it fixes most of the issues!
fixes a few issues and bugs, but still no S-OFF...
WTF HTC?!? seriously, couldnt have packaged that **** together?
either way, im preventing OTA's until #teamwin does their thing
this update will surely UNLOCK BOOTLOADER . GOOD NEWS //
This update has already partially leaked! If you search the Development sub-forum yould find the RUUs of 1.35.xxx.xx. It won't be an S-OFF update.

Your answers can be found in the thread discussing the leaked ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142417
As i understand it, HTC will not unlock bootloaders as standard, but there will be a procedure you have to follow that will allow an unlocked bootloader. I also suspect that you will have to tick a box to agree that by doing so will invalidate your warranty if the problem with your device is caused by third party software. Time will tell.
No..none of this is true...The update is a few bug fixes.
The S-Off will be on the HTC Dev tools site. That's why they're ignoring everyone because it's not going to be in an update. Everyone (basic end users) don't even know what s-off is, so why would they care about it? Get what im saying?

What thread? I'm not talking about a leaked ROM, I'm referring to an expected official update from HTC. Why would that not be for all Sensations?

The thread isn't for A leaked ROM, it's the leaked update being discussed in this thread. It is for Euro sensations only.

Hi I am trying to put my sensation back to S-on and I have been reading the guide in the development section of this forum where it states to download the stock RUU for you sensation. I have gone to the stock ruu list in the development forum but my ruu is not listed. I have restored my sensation to original back up from when I first s-off and it states 1.35.720.1 which is not listed.
the closest I have found is 1.35.707.1 or 1.35.709.1. would any of these 2 ruu work ?
any help please I really dont want to brick my phone

Either one of those two it doesnt matter. They are just slightly older versions of your original stock rom. Once you have installed the RUU an OTA update will most likely come down bringing you to the same version (or higher) to what you were previously on.
Ask in the stock ROM thread to see if Football can source it for you

Seriously, shall i write a tut on how to find stuff on Google?
Edit, if link fails, just search for this file RUU_Pyramid_hTC_Asia_India_1.45.720.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_207653_signed
I was looking through your recent RUU collection posts and couldn't find it but didn't know the file name to look for
EDIT: Link works fine, might re-up it to MultiUpload this evening
Well, it took me about 10 mins just to work out what file name to look for. For that region normally some foreign language forums pop up, but thankfully digits are the same in any language. every time I found more info I readjusted my search and eventually found file name I needed.

no you wouldn't, you would have to either find a stock rom you can flash or you would need to flash a ruu which i will post both links for you the ruu would have to be your network carrier otherwise you wouldn't get the update OTA
the ruu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506
pre-rooted stock roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183684
i hope i have explained clearly and helped

For real, all you've gotta do is keep your ears peeled. As soon as boys start claiming to have the update, do a quick Google search & download either the RUU or find a "flashable" zip. Whoever relies on push service for updates these days anymore? If you did, you'd still be on some earlier distro of Unity.
Wow, you're still on Unity? The last time that ROM was updated was September!

Unity's really cool. Easy on the battery too. I moved to Endymion (and keep shuffling ICS & MIUI ROMs) for features & the latest Sense. I one could learn contentment, Unity would be the word. But alas, who's content with the world today?

You need to supply more information I think. Get ready to eat some flame, lol
HBOOT version, ROM name, recovery version, Sense or AOSP
I know that if you have the latest HBOOT, HTC updated the touchscreen drivers so that it makes AOSP ROMs nonfunctional. There is a thread here somewhere that helps you revert your touchscreen drivers if you have S-OFF.

Wow, it's plastered all over the place about the touchscreen issue. Ever heard of the search button, or maybe READ the thread of the Rom you are installing prior to flashing wildly. 50%+ of the posts here have been answered repeatedly or addressed in the first few posts of the thread. You should ALWAYS read first!

Currently searching this exact issue for a friends daughters HTC (did an OTA with almost dead batt, corrupt ROM, no getting in to S-off, etc., so flashing a stock ROM works, but no TP), here's your link: "Invalid thread specified.
