I understand you take good care of your phone, so do i. However if you want have it untouched, don\t touch it
Don't forget, it is just an object and you bought it to use it, right?
Kind regards and i also think it can be buffed out

I kinda just ignore it, mine has minor scratches that are perceptible only when you meticulously find it

Hey Guys,
A friend of mine has a tiny scratch on his screen (looks kinda annoying when surfing on the web).
Do you guys have any experience with Screen Polishers or something.
Does toothpaste works for example?
Thanks in advance.

Afaik polishes are meant to be used on plastic screens...i.doubt they can do anything good to glass ones. Your friend is better off slappin a screen protector on his desire to hide the scratch for what it's worth, avoiding future ones aswell, imho

Do those screenprotectors hide a scratch because its in the middle of the screen. and you see it when scrolling website (with white background) looks kinda annoying (i have seen the scratch now).
thanks in advance
A screen protector won't hide the scratch it'll just cover it.
That xerapol stuff looks quite good, it does say it will remove scratches from glass, and it says it'll remove scratches from a motorbike windshield, so it could be worth a shot.
It depends on whether it's a scratch or a chip, big difference, if it's a scratch give the xerapol a try
If it's a chip then it's quite a bit worse. I chipped my old iPhone screen, and it was HORRIBLE.

Heart rate sensor easy to scratch?

Is anyone else's heart rate sensor all scratched up? I removed the plastic when I got the phone on the first day and after a few weeks its pretty scratched up for some reason.
Yeah, I noticed that as well on multiple S6s I looked at. In fact, some are already very scratched from the factory as soon as you take the protective film off (if you can get it off haha).
Same here, as soon as i removed the protective film of the HR ive immediatelly found a hidden scratch beneath it, what the heck man, its a 650€ phone i deserve pristine condition on such a high price point.

You use fingernails or some kind of adhesive tape when removed the protective film?

fingernails but ofc with care, the scratch is on the other side of the removal process so if it were my fingernails it would be on the right side rather than left side scratch.

Same here, yes. It's not Gorilla glass but only plastic so yeah, normal I'd say and it won't affect functionality in any way yet it's annoying.
It is indeed very annoying i cant believe they went cheap on us with such a stupid thing that could have made it a perfect phone... its stupid. I hope that the OIS is not there and rather part of the camera sensor ?

Dropped My Xperia Z3. :(

I've only owned the Z3 for several weeks and it's already been dropped. Not that it was my fault, it slipped out my trouser pocket straight onto the floor, the pocket was too small.
There are very slight scuffs on the top strip of the phone, beside the 3.5mm audio jack. This is the only minor damage.
Aside from replacing the top strip, what can I do to polish or remove the marks? They are extremely light and I do not want to ruin the phone.
What methods are there of removing these marks without having to paint/spray the phone?
Thanks guys.

If it's ok for you, easiest would be to apply a skin. I've seen full body skins from Slickwraps.
That way you cannot do any additional damage.
Not ideal, but..
I'd get a casemate. It's minimal, but protects the edges and makes it more grippy.

Is there a plastic piece installed factory over the camera?

I can't tell.... and if there isn't I don't want to pick at it and scratch it.
Nope
I just did the exact thing. eBay has the part it's easy to fix I did it. Just don't get the acrylic one. And ask before buying even if the picture looks like the OEM glass one make sure! Unless you want the acrylic one it's less prone to cracking but will scratch.

I did actually get the acrylic one, as it is less likely to break again

Simply being in my pocket. You'll see on the forums this is happening to a lot of people. The consensus is that LG phoned it in on the camera glass quality.

Yeh, I noticed all the glass problems, am I lucky or what, no problem for me with any problem mention in this forum about the glass built or any other stuff, and I had my G5 from day 1 after exchange it once, but I can remember the reason why I exchanged it.:fingers-crossed:
Just looking back at my camera len, I do have a deep scratch, but lucky I have a PET lens protector on, so it's only the protector that is scratched, at least I do have 3 spare one left.

Yeah I thought the same thing before I pulled the phone out of my pocket, nothing out of the ordinary had happened, and it was mysteriously broken. It's going to be like a recall if it gets really bad...
It doesn't take much pressure to brake it but it doesn't just do it on its own. This isn't the 6p being too tight around the glass and it breaking from expansion @kchannel9 just lift off what's left of your glass and peel it off no need to open the phone up. Just make sure no glass is left in it when you put the new one on. It should come with adhesive. And don't touch the lens! Cover it up if it breaks all the way it out or tape over it if it is just cracked to protect the camera! I might get the acrylic one to put over my glass replacement one now that I see how fragile it is.

It's simple to replace. Mine cracked and I ordered 2 off eBay. I had to replace it for a warranty exchange. Just use tweezers to get under the glass in the crack and peel it out. Insert the new adhesive sticker, then lay the new glass down. Takes about 5-10 minutes.

Just replaced mine, was easy. The acrylic one I got from eBay/China works fine, though there are visible lines in the acrylic, it did not seem to effect the pictures taken. If I find with more testing that it does, I will get the glass again instead, and also add a glass protector as well. But for now seems fine.
Ok nevermind, after taking some pictures in full sun it is apparent that the acrylic adds a ghostly fuzziness to the images where there once was impressively sharp clarity. Going to order the glass version and a tempered glass protector for that piece as well. Really annoying, you'd think a $700 flagship phone wouldn't have this issue.

I think it's individual case, just unlucky, my unit is perfect.:fingers-crossed:

Question How is your Ultra holding up? Scratches etc

My ultra is now 3 months old. I have the burgundy version. Even though I’ve been particular about cleaning it there is a tiny paint chip on the camera
https://imgur.com/Yb9IkHY
small permanent case markings that look like dust particles.
https://imgur.com/hSyYaMo
tried using one of lens wipes to clean it but it didn’t come off.
I’m curious how phones are holding up for you guys.
Still pretty much same condition as when I took it out of the box, already had the case & screen protector waiting so I didn't waste any time when it was delivered.

I actually didnt notice these small dots. Looked pristine to me but when I was cleaning and saw them in direct light it was noticed. What color do you have? Can you share a photo of the bottom of the phone?

8 o’clock to the laser autofocus. Small white spec.
Any chance you can post a photo of the bottom of your phone?
Attached.
Leave rhe plastic film on the phone if using a case. Dust scratches the plastic instead.

Well I’ll be doing that next time. Already removed em
I was actually surprised how easy the screen has gotten a ton of small little scratches, suppose its my fault for hating screen protectors and cases, finally started using Whitestonedome screen protectors and currently using the latercase.
Surprisingly the back of my phone still looks brand new
Mine is good so far. It comes out of the case every other day and it and the case get a wipe down with a damp cloth. Then dried with a microfiber cloth before going back in the case.
If you leave the phone in the case for long periods of time, abrasive particles will get in between the phone and case and the damage begins.
Mine is doing great. I treat it like my car; I use it as designed, clean it occasionally, and do a little maintenance every so often.

I would say no. If you think of this single spot on top, it was most likely a one dust particle.

They actually look like dust particles on mine too. They might seem less pronounced given your colour though. Mine wont wipe off completely.
I have the Black one and no scratches toll now (using without case) but camera has small Spot... The white one with no paint on the shell from my friend ist perfekt till now... Think next time i go for white
Put an Otterbox on the device right away but not a screen protector. The screen is extremely prone to micro scratches which can only be seen when screen is off, or with very low backlight and dark image (I've had the device a month an already some prominent micro scratches) . Awaiting screen protectors in the mail. This is a bummer as previous versions of gorilla glass stood up better to micro scratches (never had nearly the micro scratches on my S20 which I ran for 2 years without screen protection) . Pay off I guess for having better shatter protection.
Iv been running case with a naked screen ever since I realized that every protector ive tried affects either swipe typing and more so Spen responsiveness. Thank God tmobile allows you to add insurance to phones they offer regardless if it's bought from them or 3rd parties. The phone is just way to smooth for any obstructions for me.
no scratches
