Several people got the brick bug of /data. Caused by a faulty CWM version. I've tried many different Odin packages, but this seems to be the one that works
I looked in the AriesVE.ops file and it said "userdata" instead of "data", that's why the previous packages I made probably didn't work for resettings data.
Here is the new unbrick TAR:

Use an USB port of the backside of your computer, it's faster most of the time. And it may take over an hour to complete. but don't worry, it's better then sending it to samsung.
and charge your phone before doing this, when the power of the battery is fully drained it will only stay on at the usb power, causing an extremely slow flash.
(someone that i helped with odin sometime flashed a complete stock rom without the battery and it took almost 24 hours!!!)

I Downloaded and installed your rom from HERE using rom manager, And I'm not sure what I did wrong but when I turn on my phone it goes to Phone Logo screen (first screen) then all black with a corrupted blue lines at the bottom about half an inch long. Then, a couple seconds later it goes to a full corrupted screen. then it just does everything repeatedly.
Sorry I can't take screen shots since my phone doesn't work. But any idea of what I might of done wrong?
My phone is already rooted and CwM was already installed. Not sure if the installation process was messed up or not. And I can't get my phone into the CwM recovery to fix this problem.

There are a bunch of threads and a sticky! (2nd topic in the Dev Forum) that state Rom Manager does not work with this phone. That is what you did wrong.
you should have flashed the rom in CWM, but since the damage is done, you will have to get the phone in download mode and use ODIN to flash a new rom and start over again.
Hopefully, you can still get in DL mode by holding both volume buttons at the same time and inserting the USB cable.
use FB's starter pack post for the files you need for ODIN, and don't use Rom Manager anymore!

That's another download mode screen. The previous screen you described sounds like you didn't have the right boot loaders in place. Check out The KJ6 Heimdall One-Click Collection. Select any of the three of those you want to use, and follow Bhundven's instructions (really easy). All you need to have installed previously is Java.
Let us know how it goes.

CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES (1: counts)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
firmare upgrade encountered an issue.

and now my phone only boots to this message

I am using ODIN 1.85 and it seams like it can read my phone but gets stuck on <ID:0/004>Setup Connection...
I was following this instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398

Hey guys, I dont have the exact problem, but i do think my skyrocket i727 is also soft bricked. Ive been researching allot since i dont know too much, and i dont wanna risk my phone dying on me. Any help will be greatly appreciated. While at work (currently deployed, so i can't go into an AT&T store) i used my friends charger to charge my phone. Ok, i put it were all the sockets are, that i always use and have not had any issues with. And it didnt charge, so i plugged it into my friends laptop. I see on my phone the blinking battery, and continue to use my gtalk. Had to step out to work, disconnected the charger and continued on with my day. A few hours later i took my phone out and noticed it kept on vibrating while the screen was black. Took the battery off put it back and nothing. Then took the battery out for like 2 3 hours, and again nothing. It will jus go to the 1st samsung logo, then to the second and go black, then vibrates every other second. I'm going crazy because i dont have a memory card and am soo terrified of losing my pictures and videos. I have read and have had the guys i work with help me, and one friend downloaded the Odis program, but before i use it, i just want to make sure theres nothing else I can do. Again ive read the steps, understand them, but will it delete my pictures?? I apoligize for the length of my thread, just trying to give as much detail as possible. I have never tried to modify my phone, so its still in its original form. Please help. Thank you in advance. Have agreat day

Ya you need to figure out what has happened. Are you sure you have Odin setup correctly? you have the file in the right Box (PDA I think). Every other box unchecked except auto reboot..?

Hi guys.
Was wondering if anyone could help me out with my phone. I'd been running the Unnamed rom for a while then last week the phone started acting up on me. Now I'm trying to return it back to stock and for some reason I'm getting a claiming interface error. It says device connected on Heimdall, and the connection is able to initialize but it keeps failing on the interface part.
Any help would be truly appreciated.
I suggest you try another USB port or even another computer if you can.

the original cable from the phone sucks its too short and thin mine broke 2 months after i bought a motorola droid one and broke like 3 or 4 monts after bought an lg one but all it does is charge the phone no data no flashing no nothing same with a cable from the gas station but the best cable ive used is the mytouchbranded on its been 5 months its the best one yet you should try it mine was from my old mytouch 3g slide:laugh:
I installed CM10 on my skyrocket and then was trying to flash a new ktoonsez kernel and when rebooted, the phone wouldnt turn on. When i connect to the computer, a window pops keeps popping up asking to format the E drive. 1st i didnt want to format, but ultimately i clicked on format and then the window appeared that windows cannot format e drive.
It appears that something went wrong with the software on the internal memory while flashing and it got corrupted. Now is there a way to format it and install the stock software again?

Pull the battery out and let it sit for awhile then try again?? Do you have a link to the kernel you flashed?

I got the kernel from XDA and used the Touchwiz jellybean version from this link:

You used a kernel meant for the s3. You're surely hard bricked. Best bet is either warranty or mobiletechvideos.com jtag repair. That'll set you back $50.
That's what I thought too, I've never seen that kernel for the skyrocket... +1 on the hard brick and jtag

Hey s3, s2, skyrocket there all the same, aren't they.
God promised men that he'd put beautiful women in all corners of the world. Then he laughed and laughed and made the world round
In that they are made by Samsung, Android OS and are phones then I would say yes they are all three the same. Humor
