Remove ads fully - General Questions and Answers

Hello there I have a question.
I have a desire s wich is rooted. And I am using adaway. Now my question. I want that the app score mobile is fully ad free. Now you can see in the image that the app isn't showing any ads anymore but the bottom part where normally the ad appears isn't gone.
I hope you understand what I mean.
Is it possible to remove the bottom part too?
Thanks in advance.

You have to root it and write into the code if you have knowledge about that .Otherwise is not possible from my side .I've done the same with you in my Sensation but no luck later

AW: Remove ads fully
My device is rooted.

LBE Security Master blocks this ad. But I dont want to use LBE Security Master I am happy with LBE Privacy Guard.

Lbe security master is basically an improved and full fearured lbe privacy guard... it s free as well. So why are u happy with a software that diosnt meet ur needs when a better one from same editor does for free? ...

Download lucky patcher, it removes all the ads and you can also export the apk file without ads and it can also do many more useful things. Just search for the apk on google.

LBE Security master is loaded with stuff I don't need like anti-virus. But I want to try a jelly bean rom so will have to use it.

If you're phone is rooted you can try AdFree: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5iaWd0aW5jYW4uYW5kcm9pZC5hZGZyZWUiXQ..
This is by far the most effective adblocking app.
I use AdAway from the Play Store, does the job for me. Any ad blocker will do though, as long as you're rooted.
Also, if the app doesn't require the Internet then you can turn the data connection off when using it. I used to do that with Angry Birds before I rooted my phone.

use adaway.. it's simple and very user friendly.. Ads also annoy me, we share the same prob.. so glad if it could help you out..
Are these apps for free? I want to remove the annoying ads as well.
The ads are there to support developer.
If you really want to remove them, the easiest way is to use your phone offline whenever you are using the add supported app

yes, I know those ads are there to support the developers.
but, if I use my tablet offline, there's not much that I can do with it since a lot of apps require data plan to run
re:
The best ad blocker is ''AD Blocker Trial'' try it all, it's free on play store and doesn't require root acsses, that's simple ya...
Use a firewall (e.g. Droidwall), set filtering to "whitelist" and only allow those applications that really must have internet access. That will not only block ads but also prevent apps from phoning home other sensitive data. Of course, you need a rooted device for this.
Try Adfree friend.. you can download in play store!
i have try it
Some roms have it built in
Find a rom that has ad blocker already in the list of extras.
play store has removed ad removing apps?
Hmm, it looks like the ad removing apps are gone from the play store (which I guess I understand from googles point of view - they probably get a few pennies for these ads also).. Is there another place to get these? Amazon app store has "ad-blocker pro", but the 3 reviews all say it doesn't work..
Is there non-store place for some of these.. We can load a rom yet with ads removed for the LG Motion 4G, but removing the ads would be good enough for me

Ah indeed.. Apparently I'm too much of a newbie to allowed to post links, but google "pcmag" and "ad-block" and I guess you'll see the article.. I do see that the apps are available on f-droid (which is an open source apps store that I can't post a link to either - google is usually your friend here)...

You can try to download and use Lucky Patcher, very usefull app. It can help you.
You can download Adblock plus from their official website because google has pulled these adblocking apps from play store or you can use the lucky patcher if you have a rooted device. Hope it helps!

For AdAway, check F-Droid. AdFree can be found at the Adfree Android Homepage.
As both work using a modified /etc/hosts file, one could also manipulate that manually. But that would be quite a hazzle :silly:
I remember there was one app that worked by disabling the ad modules themselves -- which would be much more interesting to me. I just cannot figure out which app that was. Any hints?

I echo this & i've had unwanted billing by clicking inadvertently clicking on ad's (use perfectapplock & the the time lag in which ad comes up randomly varies in a crafty manner making user click ad by mistake). But tell me does not the ad killer app's what you mention above kill the ad's (in my case I am having issues of ad blocker not working with Rom Toolbox Pro)

Was just reading thread on Adaway vs Adfree, Yes, I used to use this before I installed ROM Toolbox Pro by JRummy and currently communicating with devlp regarding non functioning of perapp ad blocker within the various apps. He is suggesting using a custom rom to see instead of stock rom. Tried reinstall, changing location of hosts, clear data, nothing worked.
Regarding LP, further to my question above I did read more about it and I rest my question. It goes a step ahead and kills wake locks apparently giving considerable battery boost.
Everybody does not have choice do with third-party aplication cause it will bring new ads to your mobile, there is one good choice if you can change policy security or you can hack your mobile like make ROM or ROTTED your mobile then change system be unread and unwrite or maake yourself firewall to erase all ads output.
I think google give their software without pay cause the ads are pay it with expansive price for development cost.
If i am wrong..... polize me cause i am newbie on android.

I don't see it as necessary, but I do use avast! Free Mobile Security for it's anti-theft part. There are other apps that offer the same.
A german security company ran a test of some anti-virus apps, There were 172 possible hits and 10 real time hits and the results were depressing:
Antivirus Free fra Creative Apps – 0/172, 0/10
GuardX Antivirus fra QStar – 0/172, 0/10
LabMSF Antivirus beta fra LabMSF – 0/172, 0/10
Privateer Lite fra Privateer Labs – 0/172, 1/10
Bluepoint antivirus Free fra BluePoint Security – 2/172, 1/10
Kinetoo Malware Scan av CPU Media SARL – 11/172, 1/10
Zoner AntiVirus Free av ZONER – 55/172, 8/10
Mind you this was a while back and Avast, AVG and other of the larger ones was not included.
never need it , beside it drains battery
In my experience antivirus apps are just here to scare windows users into giving a company more money.
Sure some of them to have nice anti theft features however there are also plenty of very good (free) apps that do this like prey.
Just do not download random apk's from the internet and blindly install them and you will be fine
Re: Do we really need an antivirus app on android? Attention required.
Waste of money.... When i got my first device i spent 5€ for antivarious... After some days i found out that the only thing it was doing, was to blockmy carrier`s messagges.. Nothing else
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
Antdroid antivirus programs are mostly used for
1)Anti-Theft uses
2)To know any issues with settings in the phone (Faulty or unchecked settings)
3)To know which apps are using network, wifi, GPS etc through privacy advisers
4)Will block malicious websites that are suspicious.
5)Provides call/sms blockers.
6)I have seen some virus attacks for few of my friends on their android mobiles even though they had an antivirus app on them. So I don't know why it happened.
So instead of backing off from single drawback use it for several other uses it provides! (My choice Avast! For Rooted phones, it will work best)
i think it just drain battery faster and use a lot of ram..
Re: Do we really need an antivirus app on android? Attention required.
Used to stick with avast before. ( but it makes the device hell lotta Laggy when any app is installed trying to scan the crap out of it for no good ).
But it's useful with the firewall feature.
As long as its from playstore, you won't need any anti viruses .
In 4.2 i see that Google has included something that they call "verify apps" and that's supposed to check if the app is harmful or not.
And again, download stuff from trusted websites only.

LIFE!
IT'S WHAT YOU MAKE OUT OF IT!
I agree with the other posts,
You really don't need an antivirus as long as you are careful about what you download.
I was using Aavast, but it made my Tab 2 laggy and slow so I uninstalled it.
Security Suites like LBE Security would be usefull for control permissions, start up, block ads and firewall; but the best antivirus is intelligence and caution
To be honest with you, you just need to be carefull and don't install things from sources you don't trust. Having that said, I still use Avast! Mobile Security because it has an anti-theft feature which I highly appreciate.
Not necessary, just don't go around installing sketchy apps.
Re: Do we really need an antivirus app on android? Attention required.
The worst thing I have experienced in many years is airpush which is essentially no worse than spam ads and is remedied by simply uninstalling the culprit app.. Be aware and you should not need antivirus apps.

Re: Do we really need an antivirus app on android? Attention required.
Using avast for anti thefts..n got a solution, instead of uninstalling it I just froze it via greenify..n it solved the issue.only the anti theft is working in background and its using quite little memory which is ok for me as per my phones physical security is concern, but the antivirus app that was using a huge memory is frozen..
Hope this idea helps any one who is in confusion to hav or not an antivirus.
Thanx all for your valuable advice and suggests.

As long as you know what you're installing, checking the permissions, not installing non-Market apps too often, and no installing unknown apps over the internet, you should be fine without antivirus.

Is it safe to download Apps (.apk) from third party websites?

Here I want to ask a question:
If due to any reason, I am not able to download app from official Play Store, Is it safe to download Apps (.apk) from third party websites?
For example Viber is not compatible with my Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi only) device and I have downloaded it from a third party website. Is it safe to use? Please advise.

Sometimes I download apps from 4shared but you got to read before you install because sometimes it will say 'this may cost you money' so it will probably go on your bill and try not to get installers because they can be dangerous and infectous

Read permissions and be smart. Go to play store web page and see the real app permissions and compare it the the one you download. Also be smart. A wallpaper app shouldn't have access to your call logs or phone identity.
With that said not all apps on the play store are safe as well. As malicious apps are rare and often removed, tons of apps are collecting important data and storing it. Do posted above. Install afwall and block internet access to shady apps then enjoy.
