I have the maxx hd and the vibrating feature is constantly going out on me. If i shake the phone it comes back but only briefly. Replacing the phone doesn't really help because after a while it starts agian. Does anyone know of a way to get this fixed? Verizon and motorola are clueless.
Thanks

for no obvious reason my completely STOCK razr hd melted down while i was showing someone how one would boot into recovery even though mine had no recovery i got the android exclamation then powered down from there once powered down it began to heat up drastically to the point of me watching the inside of the audio jack melt then me not being able to even hold it.obviously the phone is ruined and i feel pretty discouraged considering i had only had the phone about 3 months does anyone have any idea why this wouldve happened ? also does anyone have any old android they would want to trade for a melted down razr hd cause i need a phone maybe a 1st generation atrix or something similiar seeing as how i also have the lapdock. surely someone needs a replacement screen ..thx in advance..jsn
Hello,
Yesterday at lunch I dropped my droid Razr HD on the floor, and broke the screen and digitizer outright.
The screen is unusable, however the phone appears to be working. I can get text messages and see the LED blink.
I am going to verizon today to purchase a new one, be it under warranty or not, because I need my phone for work.
Right now I am keeping the phone on the charger so verizon can transfer whatever they can.
My question is, is there any way I can copy over or "clone" the phone over to the new one?
As if nothing ever happened?
I am rooted, however the screen is unusable. I intend to buy the exact same phone.
I don't want to use anything overly complex if I don't need to. I just want my new phone to look like my old one.
Any help/tips/advice is really appreciated. I need my phone back ASAP.
I will have a stock Droid Razr HD along with my broken one today around 8:00 est.
Thanks in advance!

Use philz, you can use the keys & the screen shots from the main thread to judge you presses. That is if your boot is open.
If you are locked-boot. You are done.
You could also try and replace the screen on the phone yourself?

Digitizer is broken as well.
Screen (LCD + Digitizer) is available on eBay/Amazon for about $100/120 and is very easy to replace it

I've had my Maxx since the release and went through last winter without this problem. Now when the device is out in temps below 40 F the bottom third of the screen turns a yellowish-purple and flickers non-stop. Makes the phone very difficult to use. Obviously I'm out of warranty but I'm curious if anyone else experiences this and if it is a sign that the digitizer is going bad or some other issue? I've tried adjusting the brightness settings and turned off active notifications but that doesn't help. Any thoughts about this issue would be appreciated, I am hoping to keep using this phone for awhile since I have it unlocked and rooted and it meets all my needs.
I would contact Motorola anyway. My wife's RAZR m lost the imei (don't ask) she was out of warranty also. Moto steppes up and gave us a refurbished unit. Even the same color blue. Can't hurt to try.

Sounds like a bad battery to me..
I have a droid ultra with busted lcd and a droid maxx that i re entry purchased that had a cool done mode error.
Wanted to ask if I can get the ultras board installed into the maxx.
Or if there is anyway to fix that cool down mode error that stayed when the maxx was once dropped.
Thanks
Anyone
Yes you can swap the boards, the thermal Issuse no clue, but know you will lose that 32gb storage

Yeah my maxx had between having the same problems. I get the cool down message sometimes, but must of the time or just shuts down.
I have reflashed different firmware in RSD lite and with mfastboot, factory reset and tried everything I can think of. I eventually got another phone (HTC one m8) and set my maxx aside to tinker with when I had time.
The maxx does pretty well if it is plugged into the factory charger or if I do not touch it or move it at all. From everything I have been reading online it sounds like it 'may' be the battery or a poor connection to the battery. And of course the is the possibility it could be the board.
I have found replacement batteries online from 25 to 35 dollars. And I have found other maxx's and ultra's that are broken and being sold cheap for 30 to 50 dollars on swappa and eBay. Once I have some extra money I am going to try and work on it some more. Please post on here to let us know if you get your phone fixed and what you did to fix it.
