http://www.glassechidna.com.au/products/heimdall/ if odin isn't working use heimdall. All you do is unzip the odin file and place the individual files into the proper place. You have to use the drivers heimdall comes with.

Just a bit of friendly handy helpful information. There is no need to keep opening new threads for your questions. Use the thread you already have (only one) when you ask a new question it will get bumped to the top for everyone to see.

So I'm following lumins guide for heimdall one click kj6 and every time it gets stuck at uploading the kernel modem or factoryfs. I can't do anything with my phone but look at the alternative download mode screen and I've never had these problems with heimdall before

So I'm wondering if there is an easy way to root from the phone? Or any way for that matter. I'm on a cappy with stock 2.3.5 and wow it sucks. Its my wife's phone as I soft bricked my phone trying to flash helly bean over firefly 3.0. I'm guessing I didn't have the gb bootloaders. Though with this phone I do have them and should be able to easily flash helly bean with no problems once its rooted and I flash the proper kernal.

I always go to 4-2ndtwin's helpful links in his signature and use either Odin or Heimdall to install a kernel that will allow you to flash roms. Then you can just boot into recovery and flash.
I think there is a mobile odin on the market.
Ill look for mobile Odin.

Odin requires root. Is there a way to root from the phone?

No, you dont need root to use odin. Make sure you read up and find instructions. Flash a kernel with root and apply via CWM and there you go.

Mobile Odin does require Root.
And nope, no way to Root just from phone.
But there is no need to get Root if u r just gonna flash a Rom anyway. U will however need to use Odin or Heimdall to flash a kernel with the CWM Recovery baked in. (i recommend KK4 Corn Kernel v7.0A ). Once u have flashed that kernel, just use button combo to reboot into cwm and then install ur Rom of choice that u should have already copied on ur phone. Success

I was wondering if it's possible to use both triangle away and flash stock firmware all from my tablet?
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
Yes, Both programs support the Note 10.1
Just download the firmware to your device. Flash with Mobile Odin which should also be able to root the device for you. Then run Triangle-away if needed. Although using Mobile Odin should not raise your flash count if I remember correctly.
Worked out great thanks
