You may flash stock RUU if device's bootloader will be locked again:
In fastbot mode - you must issue command:
< fastboot oem lock >. (without those arrows- of course)
If the bootloader is still from version-2.00 xxx, just flash stock RUU..

Seriously? :banghead:
If you don't have time to go through the forums to do your research and understand what you're doing, then you don't deserve any help at all.
XDA is supposed to be a site for developers, not a one-stop helpdesk for lazy people like you.
Go and read the index thread, search, read, and eventually you will understand what you need to do.

How to go back to the stock HTC Room? "Remove the root"

Hey
Thanks to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525100
finally i rooted my HTC Desire S
and i installed this room "[Fallout Evolution V4.4.0|Sense 4.0A| ICS 4.03] [Kernel Stock 3.0.16]" from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679125
but i found it has many bugs and the browser is very laggy and sluggish so i decided to come back and run the official stock room again
so my question is how i can remove the rooting and make the phone like nothing happened to it, like the first time i bought it?
how can i install the official stock room again to get OTA updates normally again??
Sorry for my little informations in this but this is my first time to root so am not expert
thanks in advance
Search and read - this has been answered literally hundreds of times. It will all depend on your hboot, how you got S-Off etc - but the answers are already out there.
If you are capable of reading to get where you are, then you are more than capable of reading and getting back.
The first thing that you should do is to search for threads with similar question to understand the basics.
Than:
1) find your version:
fastboot getvar version-main
2) find a RUU according to the version
Look for the sticky thread "Shipped ROMs collection for Desire S"
If there is no such look for a downgrade guide
If there is a such RUU available, continue:
3) lock the bootloader
fastboot oem lock
4) use the RUU
Done.

If your problem is the functions of the rom, then maybe it's much safer for you to just try a different rom. There are lots of threads discussing best roms. Succes

[Q] Desire S will not boot after Over the air update from T-Mobile / HTC

Hi
My phone received an update last week.
The phone is not rooted. It is exactly as when bought.
Unfortunately, it now hangs at the T-Mobile splash screen and will not boot. Recovery takes me to a black screen with a phone and a red triangle.
Nothing else goes past the splash screen.
I was hoping to just flash a new ROM as I have done on other phones but it is S-ON and USB debugging is not enabled.

Mar 30 2011, 17:29:31
Since I cannot start the phone I am at a bit of a loss as to what I can do.
I have searched forums including this one but cannot find an answer for such a problem when USB debugging is off, the phone cannot boot and it's S-ON - although i can get into bootloader no trouble.
Please can someone give me an idea if this phone is a gonner? or might you be able to suggest a solution?
Thank you
Don
Don't you have warranty? Since the device is untouched let the service centre take care, why bothering yourself.
The other way is to press Vol Up + Power while in the red triangle recovery screen and wipe cache

thanks for the reply.
it's a works phone and they haven't shown an interest in fixing it but have just replaced it with a new one x.
that's great but rather than throw it away i'd like to try and fix it.
i have tried the volume up and power button from the red triangle screen and it gives me the option to boot from sd card which is a start!
what can i put on the sd card to get me going? do i need a rom image of the original rom? can i download something and if so what should i go looking for?
sorry if this is a bit noob but i tinker but am no expert!
thanks for any further assistance.

There is nothing to install from the sdcard.
Don't you have a "wipe cache" option there?
yes, i can wipe the cache but it makes no difference.
should i just give up hope or is there anything else i can do?
seems a shame.
since the phone can get to the different option screens i was hoping there might be a cure!
:crying:
There are ways to fix it, but it may be hard if you do not know the basics. Take a look in your SDcard for a file named OTA_blabla.zip
If there is such copy it to a safe place (as a backup) the install it via the option in recovery.
If no then you can make a Goldcard and flash an European 1.47.401.2 RUU while in "fastboot USB" mode
Sent from my HTC Desire S
Unfortunately, it gets better..... the SD card has been reformatted and put into new phone!
I'm quite good at following instructions / using my common sense if anyone has some pointers.
Even keen to read up if someone can point me in the right direction?
[Edit] sorry... Had not seem the goldcard bit in my e-mail. Will look into that.
Thanks
Don
Thanks for your help so far.
I think I'm getting somewhere but..
Gold card, done and in the phone.
RUU runs but after 30% i get, "Customer ID error".
I could not find the exact ROM you mentioned (European 1.47.401.2 RUU) so used:
RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed
Is that where I've gone wrong?
the RUU asks me if i want to update 1.47.110.3 to Image Version 1.47.401.4?
do i need to find 1.47.110.3 somewhere then?
thanks
don
This is the problem with branded phones. Not all RUUs are available. That's why you have to make the GoldCard trick.
The RUU you have used is the proper one. My mistake at the last digit. But the error you are getting indicates that the GoldCard is not working.
Anyway today I remembered that the user Scanob posted another mirror in the "Saga Shipped ROMs" with some RUUs that are not available on the File Factory.
I have searched for it, checked and I found this: RUU_Saga_TMO_UK_1.47.110.3_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3 805.06.02.03_M_release_ 204398_signed.exe
I have opened the site but the file was not longer available there. So I have made some searching, found it on another Chinese site (direct link - you have to hit the blue button to download and the click the option to the right to download it via your browser).
So I guess this is your solution. Forget about the GoldCard, download the RUU and run it in "Fastboot USB" mode. You device should be fine after that.
Good luck!
Thanks. Will try tonight.
It's worked! Thank you very very much!

[Q] Continous Bootloops after S-Off

I tried an S-off as per the procedure everything went well
Supercid 11111111
and Finally A bootloader with S-Off
but when The device booted,it showed the home screen with the unlock screen and as soon as the screen unlocks its gives and error "Process system failed" (somethng almost similar) and gave an option to wait or close the program, choosing either of the two would result in a continuous bootloop
Attempts Made So far
-reflashed the kernals,ROMs, with Factory reset, Wipes Via fastboot commands
-Did A factory reset from Bootloader to clear all the Corrupt files
-Re-locked the bootloader to Install a fresh RUU
Attempted the S-Off from Win8 PC, but later RUUs were also tried Via Win7
Thannks to beaups and jcase so far for all the Help, Appreciated:good:
All the above steps couldnt bring back the cell to normal. Therefore, would Appreciate any help
#Latest attempt was Installing a Recovery via fastboot, it showed 'failed" Error
Thank You
Don't factory reset from bootloader, that corrupts the SD card. Have you tried flashing stock recovery? If your SD card is corrupted, that's the only way to fix it. Also, keep in mind next time that you should post questions in Q&A, people tend to get a little upset when they show up here.
C'mon man, wrong section.... Use Q&A....

You obtained S-Off but corrupted phone's internal card b/c perhaps you did not wait enough time when did the last step (adb shell su -c "/data/local/tmp/soffbin3" before reboot) when did S-Off.
1. Now, Re-lock your bootloader and then reboot into RUU flash mode: fastboot oem rebootRUU
2. Flash either HTC RUU or OTA Update from here
3. Reboot - you will have stock ROM
4. Now unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery, root, do backup, (you still have Super CID) and then do S-Off (if you really need)
P.S. Q should be in General Thread

Em why not? So what its in the wrong section its a bit late to ***** about it so why not help and just let him know he did wrong like trathiang did and he only has 17 posts so shame on you.
I've factory reset from bootloader and stepped on other land mines as well. Don't worry, as long as you don't mess up your bootloader I think it is pretty hard to brick this phone.
I would suggest you flash TWRP recovery if you don't already use that, wipe everything including internal SD card, mount it and copy over the ROM and flash it again. Maybe it's something wrong with the ROM you are using?! Perhaps try a different one and of course make sure it's for an HTC One S (ville) phone.
If you try mount the internal SDcard and Winbloz says the sdcard needs to be formatted then do that using all defaults (fat32).

I also Googled alot before posting it here .. In case Someone missed out the procedures i followed to get it back, its a long list of tries
I Already tried the RUU process ( will give it one more try now)
I also tried with different ROMs but the same issue

The night I got my phone, I did a factory reset from the bootloader and spent 4 hours having a panic attack trying to fix it. Helping people while reminding them to post in the right section will make people have a more positive experience with xda. Telling them wrong section and refusing to answer them is petty and alienating.

[Q] need help with installing custom rom on htc sensation pyramid

hi everyone
i havebeen struggling with this for 2 years now. i have HTC sensation with hboot 1.18.xxxx that i bought in 2011. after the first year i have been keen to move to a newer rom. i have tried to look up inf in xda and elsewhere and got no where with this.
i have been worried about bricking so much that i didnt try to many weird procedures. i had even tried to go through with the android revolution installation procedure but failed right on. because revolutionary does not with with my device even though thr hboot is supported.
i badly need to move to a newer jelly bean based rom or later else my device is like a stone-age crap. i sincerely request some straight forward process / guidance of getting through this without weird, wire trick etc.
i really want to keep this device instead of buying a new device for no reason. but i dont know how to start and how to end. kindly help me out.

This is definately not the place to ask for "all inclusive help".
You should at least do some own basic researches or leave your phone as it is,
especially when you're worried about bricking your device.
There are so many excellent descriptions here, that could guide you to flash a custom rom.
2nd
If you are on hboot 1.18 you don't need to do the wire trick for s-off, just have a look at this.
If you searched a little bit, you'd find out yourself.
But even the wire trick is nothing "bad", I did it on 6 devices till now.
I'd like to encourage you to simply read/search a little bit more here in the forums before coming back and asking for help.

Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751187 to gain S-OFF. Don't worry about the htcdev part.
I did it on a complete stock sensation xe with hboot 1.27 or 1.29 (can't remember exactly).
Just use the temp root and rumrunner.
For any information read the thread first, before asking.
Also this thread should be moved, because it doesn't belong into the development section.

i went through the thread again and again but still find it somewhat confusing. I cant seem to separate the temproot process start and end in there. can someone outline just the temproot procedure and the pre-requisite for it ?
Does temproot require controlbear files ? rumrunner site says it requires a htc dev unlocked device. is that a must ?

I'm not 100% sure about the exact steps anymore, but you don't need Controlbear, you just need the temp root.
When you have temp root, run rumrunner and follow the instructions.
I said read the thread, cause it might be possible that you get the message that it didn't work, while it actually did work.
You'll get everything needed in the thread. Otherwise just ask.

if revolutionary.io method doesn't work then try to update officially
see this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425
then try with juopunutbear or rumrunner method again

One thing you could do is:
- get your phone updated to ICS (OTA over device settings) to get the latest firmware/hboot on it
- HTC Dev unlock your device (nothing complicated, you need to have fastboot running)
- Install/flash latest 4ext recovery (once more via fastboot) and enable smart flash option
Now in recovery with updated firmware/hboot make a nandroid backup and flash almost every rom you like.
In first place I'd not flash a CM12 rom.

since you update to ics you will be able to flash every ics/jb/kk/lp custom rom you like
so should i go ahead with the official ics update?
It's up to you.
Might be you're just satisfied with your new ICS firmware.
If you want to go further, unlock and custom recovery is an quite easy step.
For custom rom s-off is not necessarily needed.

If you do the update, try again with rumrunner after it has finished.
Thanks. I updated to ICS and did a full factory reset. The device seems to be quiet smooth compared to GB though. The next update i do will be using what you suggested. Without SOFF flashing a custom rom.
When i get there i will message back on this thread. Going to test drive this ICS now for a while.time.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the HTC One X at http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!
