Not sure what you're asking... When google play music is playing, it will give you lock screen controls
You need to be using either the aosp or a secure lockscreen. It doesn't work on the touchwiz lockscreen.

Ok great. This is what I was asking. If I could use the controls without having a secure lock on my screen.
I am on a touchwiz rom. I see a theme that has an aosp lock screen. I'm guessing that will work.
Edit: flashed a theme with aosp lockscreen and it worked. Exactly what I have been looking for. Thanks for the help!

I have been searching the Google/XDA world for an app or mod that would allow me to control the music play at the moment. That's my favorite hing about iOS. In the lock screen you can control Pandora, MOG, or iPod.
The notification bar is accessible from within almost any app so it would be ideal to have global controls there. If there is anything like this please feel free to chime in.

I'm also looking for the same thing. I have a jailbroken app on iOS called JukeBox that let's me have a music widget and it controls any app playing music and shows artwork pretty cool.
Google Music?
Cm9 lets you add music controls to the notification panel.

Stock 4.0.4 also lets you pause/play and skip Google Play Music from the notification panel.. so, I'm not sure what more the OP is really wanting, unless you want a miniature version of Play Music to show up or something like that. The dev of the respective app (Pandora, etc) would have to support controls for their app from within the notification panel.
Miui Music and Playerpro both have notification music control too.
I use Pandora a lot and Mog. Google Play music is nice but I prefer MOG. I just wanted to know if there android could possible do what iOS does.
Sure I could go back to my iPhone but I enjoy Android. I was just curious if the option existed anywhere.
Cm9 does allow me to add those widgets, thanks foe the reminder. I will try that out...any suggestions for my first cm9 flash?

Another option is to use the MIUI rom; its idea is the same as iOS, any music app can be controlled from lockscreen controls..

Go back to your iPhone. That's the best thing you can do!

Most custom roms have this built in now. Google.music has it and so does poweramp. Try em out!

I think I know what you are referring to. I too came from IOS and that is what I liked most. No matter what music player I was using I could control the music (pause, next, previous) from the lock screen. The default lock screen does not offer this, most custom lock screens do not either. However the AOSP lockscreen will, and so does MiLocker (provided the theme has music control built in). MiLocker should work with any ROM, the AOSP lockscreen may or may not depending on your ROM. If you need help let me know. :good:
Also many music players do have controls in the notification pull down. Grooveshark is the only music app that I use that does not give me controls in the notification pulldown. Hope this helps.
Hello I'd really like to have the lock screen notifications that are swipeable to enter either the missed calls or received text messages but I don't want to go without the jellybean messaging layout. So if someone has already found a way to intergrate the touchwiz stock with the jb domination secmss or any other way to work his out I'd be greatful

Download mihome from the play store. You dont have to use the launcher if you dont want to, but it also installs milocker. Use this to select a vareity of lockscreen themes, I am sure you can find one in the app or on XDA and import I think. Good luck.
I found one called oppo, that is very cool.
Thanks for the idea but not what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion but sorry not what I"m looking for. Again, I would like the jelly bean messaging interface with the touchwiz on screen lockscreen notifications.

To do this without coding, you could use this app and then change the lockscreen shortcut to this messaging app. Then, when you get a notification, you hit the lockscreen shortcut to this stock messaging app and then select the message. One more press of the screen to get similar functionality from the stock app. That's what I do.

I am willing to pay someone to make the digital rings clock from this to be able to work on the stock Touchwiz launcher. If so, I would want it to be fully functional as well.
I should mention that I've already tried the options in the Play Store but they don't have the same functionality, graphics, animations or notification integration Iike the official version.
Here is the link to the launcher and clock widget. Credit for the link goes to incubus26jc.

I installed this launcher and clock widget on Beans 14 and it worked like a charm. But the clock widget only works with the Motorola launcher.
That is my favorite clock widget ever but I hate the Razr launcher. Is this even possible? Let me know!

Will you pay me if I tell you to do a search on Google play store for "one more clock" and then select the chaos rings theme?
Never mind it is late and I just saw that you tried the alternatives in the Google store

Haha yeah dude I tried it. It looks decent but it doesn't have the same functionality or integration of notifications and stuff. Thanks though!
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I doubt all the integration will work without the matching launcher. Its possible but its probably the same issue trying to get sense widgets to work on AOSP or Samsung phones. You need the Rosie launcher. I'm not a developer though so I could be wrong. I'm just going by my experience of what I've seen with custom UIs and accompanying widgets.
i dont think so it seems that it has a check built into it to check and make sure it is running on motorola's launcher i installed that pack of 4 apk on my gs3 and then tried putting it in nova launcher and a grey box with rings widget must be used in motorola launcher only.
And there are two alternatives that were close but neither one is quite right.
I'm sure its possible with the right work, taking code from the moto launcher and tweaking it to make it work inside of a touchwiz rom, though I'd think it'd have to built into the rom, and not into just a flashable file that'd work on every rom
On cm 10.1 and chronus widget doesn't work. Can't figure it out. Clock works but weather doesn't
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
What doesn't work? If it is not showing, you need to drag the widget window to a bigger size. If it is something else, please specify.

Well I may be slow because that worked on my home screen but not on my lock screen. The weather is not showing
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
When you are at the lock screen, try swiping down the screen, starting at the clock in the middle. It should slide out the weather. It is by design. At lock, the widget area starts minimized everytime. You can swipe it open, just like swiping open the notification area.
Hope that helps!

Nvm! I didn't realize I had to turn it on in system setting.. Looks great, thanks Cm team :good:
I'm loving Chronus, especially on the lockscreen . For the record, to get it on the main lockscreen page, you hold the clock icon on the lockscreen and remove it like the standard homescreen widgets, and then press the add button, and select Chronus.
Chronus has been cherry picked to AOKP. For the life of me I can't figure out how to put the weather widget on my screen (not lock screen), the clock is fine. I've searched high and low, I wonder if it's broken for the rom.

Go into the Chronus settings and enable the weather features there, it will automatically add the weather data below the clock then. Also, make sure you have expanded the widget box to make enough room for the extra info to show!

Thanks, I did find out it was go launcher that caused the issue.

Same here. Using CM 10.1 on xt912 and the 'stock' trebuchet launcher. Weird the weather won't show data at all, but the calendar event stuff works just fine.
I designed a simple app that disables the backlight for the capacitive keys. It also installs an init.d script that disables them at each boot, meaning you can uninstall this app after using it, if you wish.
Perfect for roms that have a navbar but no option to disable the button lights, or anyone who doesn't need the glow to tell you where your buttons are.
I tested this on SkimKat. I'd like to know if it works on JB roms.

Edit: I noticed that the screenshots make it look like a widget. This is definitely not a widget, but an app overlaying the home screen. In other news: I'm accepting better screenshots (I don't own this device)

Does it have an option to undo the init.d script after it runs? Can it do it on the fly or does it require a reboot?

Sorry about the delay. Does it disable the backlight at all or is it only after a reboot that it fails? Does your rom support init.d?
Also, my app only disables the light, not the actual button.

I decided to give this a go since the option hasn't been merged into AOKP 4.4 yet. It does what it says. Thanks for the simple app.
K, so I hate to go back on this...It is still nice, but it doesn't seem to persist on a reboot. Any thoughts on why that may be?

If it doesn't persist it's because your rom doesn't support init.d. You could try another kernel for now. I'm dabbling at support for roms without init.d, but I hate to make my app run at boot.
