[HBOOT] Upgrade and Downgrade to any HBOOT - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I do all this process to upgrade to HBOOT 2.14, but you can downgrade/upgrade with any HBOOT if you have the hboot files.
First: Any brick or fail it`s not my responsibility. Proceed with caution.
S-OFF NEEDED TO PROCEED
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Procedure:
1-Download the hboot what you want:
http://d-h.st/XdJ //ALL FILES FROM OTA 3.17 T-MO germain hboot 2.14 (incl recovery and other firmware files, be careful with that).
http://d-h.st/bt9 // HBOOT 1.09 THANKS TO liamstears from the other post to provide the file.
http://d-h.st/J1T //HBOOT 2.14 liamstears magic another time.
2-Reboot in fastboot mode.
3-Do the following commands one by one:
fastboot erase cache //optional
fastboot oem rebootRUU //to enter in HTC black screen
fastboot flash zip [zipname.zip] // i.e "fastboot flash zip hboot214.zip"
(wait some seconds, green bar in phone screen)
fastboot reboot-bootloader //to see your new HBOOT
That`s all folks.

was looking for downgrades, thanks bro

My HOX come with 1.14, with JET.... 1 hour or more (installing a linux distro blabla...) with that, less than a minute, what a difference

You can flash this zip from liamstears to downgrade to 1.09:

why would you want to move to 2.14 HBOOT ??

I think nobody knows what are the advantages of 2.14 hboot, but, why keeping 1.09 or 1.14 if you can have 2.14 without any problems?
The first file i posted have more things than a hboot, flashing the 2.14 complete file is like aplying a 3.17 RUU to the majority of partitions (sb1.img, rpm.img blabla), a ROM flash can`t do that, thats because it`s a little more risky

If this requires S-OFF I think maybe a disclaimer in the original post would be good, something like "YOU MUST HAVE S-OFF TO PROCEED WITH THIS!!!!" should be good

There is no s-off at this time. However, if you are on hboot 1.09 or lower then you don't really need s-off. You can flash kernels, radios, boot.img & roms through TWRP recovery.
Hboot 1.13 & 1.14 have different permission and cannot flash radios at all. They also cannot flash kernels or boot.img files in recovery unless you use TWRP's dumlock feature. If you don't use the dumblock feature they can only be flashed in fastboot.
You can also change to supercid with s-on regardless of hboot.

[Q] How to update to latest HBOOT with S-off

With S-off achieved, it seems like it would be worthwhile to bring everything up to the latest version. Is it possible to just push 2.14 to your phone without relocking or any of that jazz?
Why would you want the latest hboot? It offers nothing useful.
Now the 2.14 users can downgrade firmware to get rid of the touch panel junk

well s-off turns off security.. so 1.14 users have no reason to downgrade, but 2.14 users can downgrade and then RUU downgrade to fix the touch screen issue

because 1.14 and 2.14 hboot prevented kernel/radio flashing in recovery.. with s-off, every partition is unlocked with no write protection.. so now you can flash in recovery on any hboot

[Question] Best way to downgrade Hboot now that we have s-off?

any tip, help would be apreciated.
im a old semi-dev (like semi-god lol just a joke) but mostly for samsung and motorola devices.
this is mmm, lets say my semi first HTC device, i briked accidentaly a HTC Sensation 4g, resiving an ota, i forget to change my cid.
There is no best way, there are many ways.
If you are s-off, just run a ruu of your choice with the hboot you want.
Check what cid you need for the ruu (HTC__xxx) (because a ruu will still do checks). I prefer a og HTCcid over supercid anyday, you have experienced that already.
cid is now easy to change with a fastboot command (or leave the supercid).

Its a bit slower going into bootloader or recovery its not much so up to if you want to upgrade also a newer one don't have the loading bar.
Run the RUU
Safest way to downgrade your hboot to 1.06 is to install the shipped rom RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.53.401.2_Radio_0.15.31501S.19_10.12.31501S.06L_release_251412_signed.exe

HTC dev download links only work if they are initiated directly from the htc dev page due to a certain session cookie, so accessing the links directly never works.
Besides, that link is for the encrypted RUU.

I have an international version device (s-off) so I assume that if I modify the info text to my device mid and cid I can run this RUU using fastboot. Is that correct?
If I did install this on an international one, would I have any problems other than network settings?

Is this the same as an RUU.exe file? I mean it does a full wipe of the device and revert it to completely stock?

Updating to 2.15 firmware does not affect the ROM, and you shouldn't have to re-install. Although, it won't hurt anything to do so (or at least clear Dalvik and cache).
Viper its going realy smooth zero drop signals
