I am on gingerbread and I want to use my college wifi. The problem is that it is proxy protected and there is no option to enable proxy port for all apps in gingerbread.
Currently I have a rooted phone and I have tried proxydroid autoproxy too..
Plz tell me how to use this wifi..
Thanx in advance

Is there already an option to update an app only by using WI-FI?

Hi, what i can think of is droid wall for root user and you can block Market in 3G and allow it in wifi.. other than that is LBE where you can set Market as not Trust it and everytime it will connect to net LBE will ask you I think ... if not just block it when on 3G or 4G and unlock it when on wifi
I hope this helped.
So I need to setup my phone to setup a proxy. I tried ProxyDroid, but i don't know how to set it up. Can someone help on how to setup a proxy with or without ProxyDroid?
Thanks in advance for the help

You could try downloading the tor apk file. It acrs as a proxy among other things. Root may be required, I can't recall. However tor is somewhat slow. Cheers.

I have updated to stock VRBLJ1, rooted and unlocked. I am grandfathered into unlimited data.
I was wondering if there is a way to enable stock native tethering on Jelly Bean? Do I need to flash a custom ROM? If so, which one?
I have tried the guide in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801886 (for VRBLG1) only to get stuck in a boot loop when I replace framework-res.apk.
I have also tried to manually replace framework-res.apk as described by http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800796 also without success.
Why you must use native wifi hotspot? If dont must, you can try wifi tethet application, it works on mine.., dont forget to tickmark mss clamping and routing fix in setting

The wifi tether app doesn't seem to work in jelly bean for me, but it worked in ics. I have clicked mss clamping and routing fix also.

Just get a toggle widget. You don't need any modifications to make it work. Use fattin hotspot toggle from the market

I have the duplicate IP issue too I think. Its running ok though with a WPA2 secure network. WPA and unlocked aren't working
