Man, making a build from sources takes about 30 seconds. Debugging it and making it boot represents about 99% of the workload. This belongs to the G2x Q&A or XDA-University forums.
Furthermore, there's absolutely no way you could get any help only by providing a broken build without additional informations.

Hi there
I will shortly be joining either the custom rom user world or bricked phone world. :silly:
I am absolutely new to the topic and would love some advice from you all.
My phone is stock ICS and I want to switch to a ROM which is very stable and fast.
Earlier i was thinking of going for PA or Cyanogen but neither seem to officially support Motorola Atrix 2. :crying:
MoKee is the only distribution which apparently has official support for my phone.
I was wondering if there is any other ROM which officially supports Atrix 2?
How good is MoKee? Would you recommend this ROM to a newbie? From what i know, Cyanogen seems to be the easiest to install.
Also, can someone list the steps to installing Mokee?
I read the content at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305303
but for a 1st time newb all that seems very intimidating.
thank you

All of new ROM's for our Atrix2 are fast and most of them are stable (depends on user )
& Even though CM 11 is not official for our phone, but currently it is the most stable and all bug fixed rom for our A2
(I am not saying Mokee or other ROMs are not stable, but at this stage CM 11 has all bug fixed and I am sure Mokee & other will incorporate it soon :fingers-crossed: )
Also all ROM's have same procedure to install, so all ROM's are easy to install (Thanks to BMM)
You can follow steps in that link or check this video tutorial for using BMM
"Axxiom Kat" also has official support to our device.
It doesn't matters (at least for this device) whether the ROM has official support or not, our device has a team of some Recognized Contributors and A2EPT (Atrix 2 edison porting team) which keep the ROM up to date as like it is an official ROM :victory:
So dont worry flash any ROM you want :highfive:

Thanks Sameer!
Guess CM11 is the best bet for me.
Btw, what is the kernel update?
Would you recommend me to go for a custom kernel now? or is it something i should attempt only when i have the hang of modding?

All rom's have inbuilt custom kernel (kexec kernel), if you wanna try overclocking your device you can use JBX kernel
JBX can be flashed after ROM installtion.
But for a newbie like you dont flash it yet, first try some ROM's; when you get used to it then try JBX.
And if this helps you, dont say thanks press Thanks button below the post !!
And we have separate Q&A section for question and answers
Please dont post questions here in general section
MoKee is bug free and gps works berry good
Mokee is stable and you can try SlimKat as well
Slimkat worked best for me as far as battery life, but cm11 was best overall
atrix 2 cm11
Hi,
I see at least 3 different CM11 roms based on kitkat:
* http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524961 [ROM] CyanogenMod 11.0 | Android 4.4.2 KitKat [KANG] [May-6]+[NIGHTLIES]
* http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530073 [ROM][STABLE][Android 4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11 with 3.0.16 kernel [July 25, 2014]
* http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2692278 [UnORom][3.4Kernel] CM-11 Android 4.4.4 [Stable v2.0][29 July][Final]
All more or less unmaintained as far as I can see - please correct me if I'm wrong!
What are the remaining difficulties to get a official CM11 ROM out of these? Then a lot more infrastructure from CM could be used - e.g. development tools, build machines & downloads. If the problem is to get a build machine on which 3-5 persons could would together over the Internet - I'll spend a vserver on my own dedicated server if there is a serious effort to bring up an official CM11 ROM.
If there are rather tiny things I could try(!) to help - I have almost no experience with android system development, but with Linux and development (C, Java, embedded devices,...) in general.
Two links for the rough procedure:
* http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_porting_intro - the hard part, but luckily almost done (isn't it?)
* http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_Submitting_A_Port - the final

+1 for uptodate pure CM11 rom for sensation. I hope someone will join to you.
I think Flemmard's variant of CM is ready to be official!
official CM11 to Sensation!!!! We need it
+1
+1 It would be great thing for senny to so see official CM11 because many developers left us.
I don't think it's possible to make an official CM11 for our phone. IIRC, to be official it can't use legacy drivers and for the CM11 to work on our phone, I think we are using drivers from ICS because that's until where our drivers are updated, I'm not sure.
And "official" one in other hand would be amazing, I tried PA and etc but I always return to CM.

Flemmards CM use KK drivers.
+1 for me too.
It's good to take a question - how many developers are developing at this moment?
Albinoman moved to Galaxy S5
SultanXDA has forced to developing Nexus 5 device
Shantur give up his work and we can flash new builds only if Sajito will up new version (contains upstream changes)
Ivanich has decided to close his storage, so we cannot download anything...
...Ideas?

That's not true... Team Venom also left us
For now we have official slimkat builds and maybe bilal liberty still develops for senny.
That's sad. We had many great developers and suddenly many of them left us. It will be great to see official CM builds.
Thats very sad, why they all leaving, i dont understand that. How's Ivanich latest 08/27 rom? Better than Sultan 07/25?

The good thing is that all the great developers left us with good ROMs.
I think it is difficult to replace the devs. I can't fix the bugs they didn't fix until now, but I would like to try to keep at least one of the Cyanogenmod ROMs updated with upstream. I think in a month or two I will have time to start with that (if no one else is doing it until then).
@mifritscher: I think the lack of a build (or at least download-) server was a problem for devs here and then. So yes, your offer could be very helpful! Thanks for that!

Sensation is a 3 year old device. i think as the devs have moved on to other devices, so should we. though our sensation has a lot of potential, i dont think devs will work on an android L port or making CM11 official. though there is hope with ivanich & bilal_liberty

I can give storage space and bandwidth if it's useful, please contact me to discuss the details.
I can build but i dont know how to make a device tree so if someone can do the device trees i can do the builds
I don't know if we have everything working as on stock, also I don't know if the rom would pass cts.
But even if everything works, I don't think there's anyone around who has enough time to maintain an official build.
But at this point there's only one cm which is still updated and that's ivanich's one. Where's the difference in having an official build?
Where to go from here?
I'm just a casual user looking for a ROM. Going through these threads is confusing and so many links are dead.
What available for the sensation right now?

Except for official slimkat all available and maintained roms are part of DevB so just click here in forum in the dev:db bar on roms.
Developers out there... Our C2 has been idle/dead for almost a month now and we still don't have a stable KitKat ROM as there's too many bugs. Some devs helped but in the end they couldn't fix it. I volunteer as a beta tester and test out new roms or kernels. Is there anyway you guys can atleast bring us a stable KitKat ROM - maybe omni ROM or carbon kk ROM. 4.4 Sense ROMs are fine as well.
We need your help developers, we need more updated stable ROMs.
Anyone out there with decent knowledge on fixing kernels and ROM bugs, we need your help.
Thank you for reading and I hope you guys consider it.
You can visit our Development thread and get a sample 4.4 rom and check it out.
Thanks again
Best regards,
ClarkOwen

Thanks for the information, I need say thanks for @Android-Andi and teamomini, to make nice work here and give extra Life for our Tab 2. You're rock guys
I haven't i am working on Omni7, lol. I only said nightly builds stopped because Omni Team is working on 7...
First of all, before any custom rom with android 7 will show up, let us wait to get our aosp ready and fixup bugs there. @Ziyan is working on 7 like a monster, but there's some stuff which needs to be fixed before there's a build ready for user.
Be patient and don't scream for it, screamer only delay or destroy development.

"CM is going to make official rom."
not CM team, but we push a request.., rohan is the reviewer aka maintainer, everybody can contribute to it, and rohan review it.
no updates??, hey man i am student , and this is just for a hobby
"im searching every day for new rom for mi4i specially android N."
please, i know you like to use or test a new rom, but remember to read the thread...
all bugs is remain the same
i guess you're not read the thread..., all source (tree, kernel , and vendor) came from ferrari-dev-team github repo
i will say
sensor and bluetooth will not working at CM official build
to be honest, somebody push a request to CM official ... and didn't know we made a dirty changes at msm8916-common,this is the reason sensor and bluetooth works in unofficial build ... ,
back to topic
mokee just Copy and paste ferrari device tree from CyanogenMod repo, (with unworking sensor and bluetooth)
we're working on it
the chellenge is, we're not allowed to modify msm8916-common
so we must load sensor at init.target.rc
i already did an attempt( more than 10), and the results is "nothing"
