I've checked every possible tag in my mind about this and couldn't find one for Sensation.
Is it possible to revet back to the original state before the Revolutionary. Is it possible to completely uninstall the Revolutionary from my phone?
I'm not talking about the s-off -> s-on
I'm talking about returning the phones software to its original state.
Like it is never installed in the first place.
Thank you.
It's funny because last weekend I wanted to do exactly the same thing.
What I learnt was to go from S-OFF back to S-ON can be quite fiddly and tricky, abd if you mess it up rub the risk of bricking your phone.
In order to get the stock Rom, here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
Now it's just a case of finding which one you are, and your ril and radio.
Good luck
Thank you for your answer. But this is not what I want I can do this already but when I check the bootloader I see the pink "Locked" and it tells me that Revolutionary is still there.
I can go to S-On without any trouble that is not what I am asking.
What I am asking is to be able to get rid of every little bit of coding about the Revolutionary and return my phone to its original bootloader software.
If is says locked then ur good since that's what it said when you bought the phone.

When I get my phone there wasn't such writing. It is the product of Revolutionary.
So it is still there. I want to be able to get rid of it.
I'm not asking this about the warranty purposes. I'm asking this because I've realized that after using Revolutionary I can't install any app from market via wireless no matter what I did. Strangely it is fine to surf and download via mobile.
I know this because this is the Second Sensation I've faced having this problem and I remember some user Leviathan(maybe wrong?) talking about wifi dieing after Revolutionary.
So what I need is to get rid of it and be able to install original bootloader(maybe bootloader is not the right term here I don't know).

i am saying that you probably have a modified hboot, because of the revolutionary sOFF, just like alpharev. you need to flash stock hboot to get everything back, hboot flashing is dangerous, if it goes wrong youll have a brick.

Thank you for your answer. I understand what do you mean. But I'm not sure if it will help because while flashing stock rom it also updates hboot.
so i unlocked my device via HTCDev.com thinking since its htc device and all they said was i had to unlock bootloader to flash custon OS's i already knew about S-OFF but being the site didn't talk about it(why would it) i went and flash virtouous ROM and got stuck at the HTC screen. i wasnt thinking so i never backed up the stock HTC Rom!!
now i tried 2 of those RUU's in the shipped rom thread the tmous ones with 29 and 50 both saying wrong version.
my question here is there anyway to get at least one RUU to work or get s-off from HBOOT?
my reason of doing this after going back to completely stock is i cant wait any longer for HTC/Tmobile to get us ICS so i tried the custom way and failed lol
I am sure unless you super SID you will have to find ROMs specific for the country the phone came from.
Eg my phone was from Asia region and I could not flash Euro ROMs
ok from the Shipped rom thread in the dev section for the sensation i was trying to go back to stock to gain s-off but the tmous(USA) which is where i am from said wrong version.

Hboot: 1.18.0000
Check your CID using fastboot getvar cid to see if these still match the ROM you were trying to flash.
says for cid is t-mob010
i guess out of the 2 stock ruu"s from the post doesnt match that?
edit: ok from what i learned in another post i opened up the rom.zip file and looked at android-info.txt both the cid and mid matched my phones from the RUU file "RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_223976_signed" buuuuttttt it tried to update it but fails saying i need to correct version :\

Yes i am. the 2 Ruu's i am using seem to have matching info to my phone when i went to get the rom.zip it uses to send to my phone and looked in the android-info.txt but tell me to get the correct RUU and try again. i got the from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559 under the tmous RUU one with 29 and the other 50.
so i am just stuck at the white screen with the word HTC. if i could get s-off and SuperCID through fastboot that would be awesome but googling it shows up that i cant s-off via fastboot ughhh
still no luck cant seem to flash anything without s-off or supercid
so looks like i am jumping the boat going to sprint this thursday and geting the iphone 4s...byebye android
If you can get into fastboot you should be able to flash RUU from there. Just download the RUU.exe and run it as administrator. Follow the prompts in the exe program while your phone is in fastboot mode.

Maybe iCrap is better for you. When you use Android phones and want to complete unlock them for flashing customroms aso you shoud realy learn to read before you do something. I hate it when people are not able to read about the stuff they want to do and when something goes wrong they blaim Android for it.
To get s-off, super CID and root on a HTC Android device is realy easy if you read the how-to threads and normaly takes about 15 minutes.
Have fun with your iCrap 4S and please don't try to jailbreak it before you read some stuff.

first off let me say i have rooted and flashed roms on my sensation before just fine. i was unlocking via htcdev.com and figured their method didnt require s-off since it didnt say anything about it. it just talked about unlocking it to put customs os's on it. 2nd i always had a love hate thing for IOS since i had the 3G and ipod touch.
far as using the RUU'ss it tells me i need the correct Ruu version or something like that. maybe because i didnt run as admin but i have all that stuff turned off due to the theme i used for windows 7 required it off.
If I were you I would Super CID your device. That is what I had to do. A great guide that I used was http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298
i tried and i get this error

You can recover this. Firstly read this guide, regarding downgrading hboot and getting s-off.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23222794
The problems are due to HTC.dev not unlocking all parts of the boot loader - you can't flash radio.img or boot.img so nothing is working.

Hi all, got my phone back from repair, with the latest orange crap and newest hboot. Ive read that I need to use Juopunutbear, to the s-off, root etc, but I dont like the look of Juopunutbear, (using wire? no chance_. I found the old revolution way much safer and easy to do. How can i still do it like that? Would i need to flash the old orange ruu on the sdcard?

You can't run older ruu when SON
To have custom rom's you need to do SOFF via Juopunutbear way or htc dev unlock
The later might not work for you.. As you might got motherboard replaced..
So only solution is JB via temproot

I highly doubt it. If you're uncomfortable, you should stick with stock. It's always wise to not do it if you aren't sure of it..
If I had steady hands it wouldnt be a problem, Im a flashaholic, hate stock lol x
Maybe if you read over it a few times you might get a bit more comfortable with it? What I do is even print out the guide so I don't miss a step.this has really helped me in the past when doing new things, I know it may sound silly but its nice to have a printed guide infront of you incase you get in a pinch. This way all the steps are right there in front of you. This is what I do. Just a suggestion. If you DO decide to give it a shot then maybe this might help. I wish you the best in which ever you decide. I just wanted to share this with you because having a printed guide has really helped me out in the past. Good luck and best wishes to you!

If your Hboot still says *locked* you cannot flash a recovery.
Please get the correct Hboot from here & follow flashing instructions: http://unlimited.io/hboot-downloads/
You can then proceed to flashing recovery.
Right done that even though the green line never goes to the end my hboot no longer says locked. I put the recovery zip on the sd, booted into bootloader said yes, completed and rebooted, but no custom recovery there?

hello
having (what i am now convinced is) a hardware issue with my phone, where it periodically shuts itself down, typically when its idle, although it has happened when i have been using it. Have to do a long press on the thing (around 15-20 seconds), to bring it back to life
Its a Telstra HTC One XL.
phone doesnt seem to be overheating etc.
i have rooted, s-off'd, superCIDd, the thing, so when its booting, i am met with tampered/unlocked in hboot, with the initial HTC splashscreen saying that this build is for dev purposes.
have tried numerous ROMs etc, and am now back on a stock/rooted telstra rom.
Interestingly, the phone never locks up/shuts down when in recovery or fastboot (have left for a good 30 minutes/1 hr)
i am looking for a simple way to revert everything back to its original state, i know that if i simply re-lock the bootloader, it comes up with 'relocked', have looked at some other posts which say that you can use a hex editor to change the hboot text.
i am curious, if i wipe out all the relocked/tampered stuff, and then reflash the stock RUU, will that reset the hboot etc? i think i need to relock to reflash the stock RUU.
i am tempted to just hex edit the hboot stuff, uninstall SuperSU from the phone, and hopefully the repair guys arent that smart and dont look beyond some basic stuff..
the 'this build is for htc dev purposes' might be more difficult to remove...
Telstra wont do a warranty repair on a rooted phone!
if anyone has any ideas to the cause of the shutdowns, troubleshooting suggests, that would be great... there are no weird or wonderful apps installed
First thing is definitely try to RUU. If that doesn't work, I (or someone else) will help you after that.
You can remove the red text on the splash screen pretty easily, here's a link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156368
Sent from my Evita
yeah, thats the red text (tampered), will that get overwritten if i relock and then RUU? (i am pretty sure i will need to relock before RUU)
also, whats the standard text on the hboot screen? (if you havent super CIDd)
If you are s-off you don't need to relock to run the RUU.
Sent from my Evita
ok, so try the RUU, see if that fixes the shutdowns? if it doesnt, use that util to change all the hboot text, and take it back to the shop, and see if they are to dumb to notice?
Yep I think that's the best plan. RUU it and keep running that for a couple of days to see if you have an improvement. If not, it's likely a hardware issue.

ok, cool, and do you know if i need to re-unlock the bootlader after the RUU? or if i am s-off i can change the hboot text etc?

There's no need to relock the boot loader if you're s-off. You can change the hboot and some bootloader text using the tool in the Android Development forum for this phone.
Pretty sure its hardware, same after ruu installed. At least now it restarts, usually after shutting off screen or taking off charger. Gonna use that util to change text back to s-on etc, doesn't say tampered, which is cool (must be ruu). What do I need to set to get rod of the cid-1111111 entry in hboot? What is default Telstra text? Hopefully they won't dig too deep.in the repaier shop!!

Ok so you'll need to RUU, relock the bootloader, change the text, change the CID, and the last thing you'll want to do is make it s-on.
The fastboot command to change the cid is:
fastboot oem writecid TELST001
I can't remember the command to make it s-on again, Google that, but it s-off be the very last thing you do after all other steps.
Sent from my Evita
cant i just change all the text, to make it 'look like' its s-off etc?
sorry for all the questions, do i just need s-off to write the hboot text etc?
I don't think you can change the s-off text. I think you can only change the tampered/unlocked/relocked text.
And yes you need s-off to write change that text and to change the CID back.
Sent from my Evita
thanks for the tips, i think that util changes text to s-off, although it might be better, to set everything back as normal (RUUd/relocked/s-off), at one point i thought that reverting all that stuff was not possible...
cannot get rid of the **RELOCKED** text.. that little util doesnt seem to remove that
Hmm you might be SOL then. Telstra are pretty strict when it comes to this stuff I think. I know Optus are, I used to work for a place did that took care of Optus repairs and warranties.
Sent from my Evita
managed to do it, now says ***LOCKED***, had to reunlock bootloader for that text to change
Good outcome, got all bootloader text back to standard, put the ruu on. Telstra repaired I within a few days by essentially giving me a brand new phone. All the battery issues (very fast standby drain) are also gone.
2 days in and resisting the temptation to root!
Hi, I need some serious help. So I had a custom rom on my at&t htc one x and i made like 3 backup of my rooted stock rom to be safe. My phone is unlocked cause I live in the Caribbean (No AT&T). Then I realised that my 4g wasn't working on the custom rom so I booted to Recovery using Team Win, wiped my data, cache and the system then tried to restore my backup. It said successful but it just booted the HTC Quietly Brilliant screen over and over. So of course, I tried the other 2 backups and it did the same. So I decided to flash the custom rom back on then try to restore the 2.20 stock rom .exe (which I've done before) from my computer. But I didn't want to go back to ICS so I downloaded the 3.18 jellybean rom for AT&T HTC One X directly from HTC's website and proceeded to relocking my bootloader and unrooting the phone, etc. Again, it said successful. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS BAD. The phone never came back on :'(... It doesn't charge, no red light, no boot screen. I can't get into the bootloader, recovery nothing! When I hold down the volume down and power key nothing happens, not even the blinking lights. When I connect it to the pc it makes a sound I've never heard. While connected, when I hold down the buttons, I hear the sound I usually hear when you know it's connected but then it makes the other sound and in my device manager i see "QHSUB_DLOAD". I can't run nothing because the computer can't find it.
Sigh, forgive me I'm a noob who got overly exited about rooting and roms but was I wrong to jump to 3.18 considering it is an official update from HTC? But now what do I doooo? Is it gone? Dead? Can it be revived? Please help me
Did you have s-on or s-off? If you had s-on you've bricked your phone. S-on + SuperCID + jb RUU = brick. You can either get a jtag repair done or send it to HTC for motherboard replacement.

1. no
2. It's Super CID. It bypasses CID checks allowing you to flash things not intended for your device region. it also allows you to S-OFF
3. If you JTAGGED you might already be S-OFF, check in bootloader. IF you try to RUU and you are not S-OFF you risk bricking.

you do not need to do that. that exploit gives you supercid so you can unlock the bootloader through htcdev. Since you already have supercid, if you're bootloader is not unlocked, unlock it through htcdev.com and then flash recovery, then flash a rom or flash su to get root.
Yeah, what exad said.
