what rom are you on?if you are on 4.0.4 ,maybe you should use fix-recovery

how to flash using recovery img? can anyone help pls...

Go to market and get superuser instead of supersu. I have rooted 2 10.1 tab2s. I skipped the work around on one and used the work around on the second. Same results each time, no root access. I went to play store and got superuser, problem solved. You can then remove supersu and keep superuser or reinstall supersu, which ever you like. They are both great apps, you're rooted it just can't see it.

[Q] superuser 3.0.7 doesn't work with i9023 ICS OTA,even adb su works

Like the title says,
I installed the i9023 OTA which is no rooted.
Then I flashed the recovery to CWM and flash the superuser 3.0.7 efgh.
I know 3.0.7 efgh is no for ICS,but in adb, su command works well.
However any program needs root just fails.
Is there something missing causing the problem?
so do i.
and my cwm 5.0.2.3 will be reset to default recovery after halt.

that's normal.
Every official Google image does that (it rewrites the recovery after boot completation)
As for root: I can confirm that superuser is not working here too
Me, too! So sad that I cannot use market enabler, hope they can update the clockmod and the su faster.
Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed still not working - tried it over the weekend - on HTC mts4tg - it installs/flashes fine - but any apps that need root - titanium backup, rom manager, etc... dont work.
reverting back to Superuser-2.3.6.1-efghi-signed worked fine, know its a step back but at least my apps that need "root" work
Maybe the rooting of ur device didnt work like it should. Maybe this will work for you.

you could try su from here it may be a more current version than what you have http://goo.im/superuser/Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip

I don't think downgrading your SuperUser will fix your problem. if you just want to root your phone i suggest you follow zedomax guide on how to root your phone. it is complete with the files, pictures and video on how to do it.
heres the link: http://nexusshacks.com/nexus-s-root/how-to-root-nexus-s-or-nexus-s-4g-on-ics-or-gingerbread/
Thanks
Thanks, i will try that
Flash this zip in clockwork recovery, its the same version of Superuser, but it works on my NS4G great. Sounds like the su binaries might not of been installed correctly.

I tried it, it works.TY very much. installed titanium and superuser ask for permission, great.
In recovery i was able to make an nandroid backup and in Titanium i backup all my Apps
Also Rom manager now works, you were the missing link, Again Thank You very much

[Q] Did I root correctly?

So I got my 300T a few nights ago.
It's already got Asus's JB on it.
Wanted to root to use the SwitchMe app for multiple profiles.
I was able to get the system to see fastboot, and ran all of the commands. Was able to boot to CWM and install root-signed. When I was trying to reboot, it said root was possibly lost, asked me to fix it, i said yes.
When I open up the SwitchMe app, it just keeps trying to open a SuperUser window about 7 times, and then does nothing else.
Have I done something wrong?
SuperUser just says No Apps in List.
edit: tried to update SuperUser. It says "gaining root access.....fail!". Guess I'll try to install root-signed again. Not sure how I could've messed it up the first time.
edit 2: wiped cache and dalvik, installed root-signed again, same problem. SwitchMe says I haven't granted superuser permissions. SuperUser shows no apps, is set to auto-allow root access, and fails getting root access when running binary updater.
im pretty sure you have to unlock the bootloader
and go through some crazy process before you can root with JB
My tablet was running JB when I bought it. I unlocked and still could not get my tablet to root using CWM. On top of that, CWM would not make a proper backup. I highly recommend you switching to TWRP. I did, flashed a rooted custom ROM and haven't had anymore issues.
Many people are having issues with CWM. TWRP is definitely the way to go. :good:
1 wrong section
2 root checker app(s)
Well, what I did to root my stock using TWRP was to flash the root-signed in the CWM thread, but as this didn't really got me full root, I flashed the flashable zip from here, downloaded SuperSU from market, there then chose "update binary" and then I had root
I'm pretty sure flashing the root-signed of the CWM thread wasn't needed, but if you do this steps (need to be unlocked to flash a recovery, strangely recommend TWRP 2.3.1 or 2.2.2 for 4.1 ROMs and 2.3.3 for 4.2 ROMs (as 4.2 has this sdcard/0 directions because of Multiusers, 2.3.3 uses this directories too))
So what should work:
1. unlock bootloader
2. flash CWM / TWRP / MobileODIN installable ZIP: CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip from here
3. download SuperSU from market and there update binary (don't know how it's called exactly)
4. enjoy!
if you decide to use a Custom ROM, you just need to flash the ROM in TWRP and should get Root too with the ROM (as all of them include Root afaik)

[Solved] Root lost after factory reset

Hi all,
My phone is 2.3.5 stock with sense 3.0
I have followed the easy root kit to successfully updated hboot, unlocked bootloader, installed CWM and rooted with superuser working just fine.
However, I did a factory reset from the Settings afterwards, and superuser started to misbehave:
1. it either won't load with a complete white screen.
2. Or it would load successfully but won't be notified when other apps trying to request root access.
I have booted the phone into recovery and flashed the su.zip couple times, but nothing has changed for the better.
I am wondering if I have to
1. rerun the root kit one more time to unlock BT, flash CWM and install SU.
2. or have to go back to the original state by rerunning the RUUxx.exe file downloaded from HTC, then run root kit.
2.1 Will rerun RUU clean up all the CWM and SU stuff and go back to the original state?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Try reflashing SU in CWM or flash superSU...you don't need to run the tool or a RUU.

Thanks for your advice.
I did flash SU several times to no avail. I can see the SuperUser in the app drawer, it just won't work as before.
So I can flash superSU in the same way in CWM?
Would that override SuperUser or they would just co-exist?
Thanks
Flashing SuperSU did the trick!!!
Much to my pleasant surprise, SuperUser is automatically removed! At least I don't see it in the app drawer anymore.
It is rooted again now!
Thanks a lot
Glevitan rocks!

[HELP]can't reroot or flash stock recovory

so, when i rooted my N5 i wanted to see if i could use super user and not supersu, so i uninstalled it. but not how you think. i went into the supersu app and uninstalled it to add a new superuser app. i downloaded super user but it didn't work. so then i posted a thread on here asking what happened and i had the response that i need to reflash root. after watching so many videos on how to do it my N5 stays stuck in downloading and doesn't do anything. i still have an unlocked bootloader but i cant flash supersu. i assume i need to be rooted to reflash stock recovory...
To flash root, you flash the root zip from you custom recovery.

You need to have a custom recovery installed to flash SuperSu.
Everything you need can be found here:

oh, i thought i needed to be rooted or have supersu to even use a custom recovery. (in my case TWRP)

Nope. Just for those silly "companion" apps like "TWRP manager" need root. But you don't need those. Boot into recovery manually to use it.
