Now you flash some custom rom, 2.3.5 and then cranium, if you want you can get your back up, and that's it .
[friendly advice] Next time you read a bit more and don't panic

backup restored and everyone pannic at first time bootloop lol

Yes, than you realize that there is nothing to be scared about especially when we don't have s-off, to hardware brick this device you need a lot of tallent, or a hammer. First time when i saw htc white screen was really scary, after that I got used to it (then only custom rom was jaggy's 2.xxx something version and to get white screen was pretty much mandatory )

[Q] HTC one X crashes during install, loops, van't do a thing

Oh dear this looks really really bad! I hope someone can help me
I tried to install Slim ICS on my HTC one X. So I did a complete wipe and then I flashed Device_x.x.zip***, and then Slim_Common.zip
But now my phone keeps rebooting and rebooting and rebooting. There is nowhere to go, even if I go to recovery and try to wipe again it goes straight back to the Slim install screen and it starts rebooting again :crying:
Does anyone have any idea how I can get out of this loop?
Desperate here
No nandroid?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I am afraid not. Stupid I know :silly:
Happens to all of us lazy people or when Ur excited to flash ;P. I know the one x requires a flash of a certain file in order to work are u installing the right one?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I think I did yes. I did everything according to the instructions. I did install custom roms on this device before. No problems then. Whatever I do now it keeps going back to the install screen.
I'd recommend you check the md5 for the Rom if it fails download it through Ur pc and transfer via recovery menu (if your recovery supports it)

Will try and report back!
Thanks
now this is interesting. I downloaded HTC One X all in one kit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...very_-_what_to_do_in_the_event_of_a_bad_flash
I then flashed another recovery program and that one DID let me clear cache etc. so no more install screen! However....when I want to flash a zip from sdcard it says no such file! Sdcard seems empty but I am 100 % sure I did not format that!
So question now is how do I install when it's not on my sdcard. you were saying transferring though recovery but how do I do that. Mount USB storage does not work: unable to open ums 1unfile. Oh my...I need a beer
Well I give up! I am now going to try to unroot and get back to stock since you can install stock rom through USB. Flashing stock recovery works....I got that far Now I have to wait a few hours for the rom dowload to finish so I guess I am going to get that beer now. I sure hope I don't have to throw my phone out of the window tonight
My phone is locked again, RUU, and SDARD works. Sorry for the drama but I really thought I bricked my phone. I think I will leave it alone tonight......and start rooting again tomorrow
Lol its all good. Sorry for leaving haha mw3 lol and I don't have the one x I got the LTE EVO

About rooting

Hi, I need your help.
I wanna know if I can come back to the stock rom (The official rom - htc sense 4) after rooting and flashing other roms ?
And I wanna know if there is a really improvement for the battery life in other rom and other kernal ?
Also, can I unroot my device ? (If it was root)
Yes u can go back to stock completely by running an ruu. There are many benefits of custom roms the amount of customisation and also the battery life can improve depending on what Rom you Use some are for performance others for battery savers

So does it really make my phone to be unrooted?
Ohh and I want to install any rom, but I see that there are new updates for the rom. So I need to flash the new rom (the update) ?? I don't want to lose the messages, contacts and etc with the new updates ...
Once rooted download titanium backup and make a back up then also make a nandroid backup when u install a new Rom its advised to wipe the phone (sd card does nt get touched ) once your on the desired Rom restore files with titanium back up if anything goes wrong when rooting run nandroid back up ans ye super su will totally unroot u that's what it says or u can run and ruu specific to ur country and update version and that will also take u back to stock

Great comment I must say
And can I get the htc original updates in the stock rom?
Yea u can update on stock HTC but there is no point personally I don't recommend it if your rooting and going onto a custom Rom no point because developers base their roms around the latest update from HTC and HTC sometimes add stupid things in their updates to make it harder for us to get roms on making phone easier to brick like I'm still on HTC update 1.73 never updated just make sure before put on a custom Rom that you have
Titanium backup and made a backup
Made a nandroid backup this is built into clock work mod (recovery) and your good to go
I never keep my backups on my phone I transfer them to the computer because they can take upto 2gb on phone and that's just nandroid backups
Another reason why you shouldn't update via HTC updates is because you will have to keep changing your ruu for the newer ones and sometimes can be hard to get hold of by staying on the one you have right now just find and download it.and u will never have to change it if anything ever goes wrong like bootloop you can run ruu if less experienced or run adb push a Rom onto phone if you want to learn about that I can send u a link for xda thread
Hope this helps sorry for any spelling errors I did not check over it because wrote this via my one s and its quite late ;p
Edit
And u only get super su once rooted

Yes please give me the link
And there is a possibility that my phone can stop working because the root/rom/htc ?
When I say stop working u can go into bootloop for example installing wrong boot.IMG or forgetting to install boot.IMG with a Rom erm you very rarely will completely brick your phone I think I've seen one person on xda who completely bricked their phone not 100% tho u will make mistakes one s was my first android I went into bootloop 4times I understand everything now and it is very worth it just don't install radios because if ur new to it and do something wrong I think its perminant brick everything else is bootloop and to get out of it u run ruu , adb push Rom or the easiest one run the nandroid back up u made
I would only use adb when I go into bootloop and If I don't want to go back to stock by running ruu.

When putting a Rom onto the phone easiest way is to connect it to pc via USB put the .zip on there and flash it with cwm

Read post above I editted it... U hold down power for 5sec to do soft reset if u think ur phones still on then hold power and down button and u will enter hboot / bootloader then u navigate to recovery and phone will display some red text with HTC logo and then cwm will launch you click backup and restore then click restore
Ruu is a exe file u run on the computer and u connect ur phone to the computer via USB and to run ruu phne has to be in fastboot which is in.bootloader and I just told u how to access that
This link will help you with ruu and going back to stock

rom manager app g2x

hello all, im very new at this. I currently have G2X rooted stock rom GB, I saw oon googple play about the rom manager and i saw the video example on how they can change the rom. I want to know if anyone has use this app what are the specific steps to use this app with the g2x. I know the phone is special and it may or may not work like the example on google play, also is this app worth it and can it be use safely without damaging the phone.
thank you for the time
You need to flash CWM using NVFlash on the G2x; ROM Manager won't do the trick.
Look in the forum fire a thread titled "Getting Started with your G2x" or something like that.

Just make sure you use NVFlash and your good. First time I tried to get cm7 on my phone it got stuck in a boot loop easy to get out of but just use nvflash saves u the hassle I'm pretty sure somewhere on the cyanogenmod forums they got a guide on exactly how to use it with pictures worst comes to worst Google it

thank you all very much...my phone already has the CWM... im just very nervous of chaingin the rom again. When i got this phone it originally had froyo and i didnt wait for the OVA update so i use lg then i had a few problems so i rooted to fix the battery with some apps and now I want to change the rom to the cm7 rom but im very nervous about it and i need to know how to do that and how to download that rom
As long as you used NVFlash for CWM, it's super easy. Just download the ROM you want and save it to your SD card. Then go in CWM, wipe data, cache, and system, then choose "install from zip file"and select the ROM you downloaded. Voila
Oh, and don't forget gapps, too. It installs the same way

You could easily find this but
1.download cm7 and appropriate gapps
2.go into recovery recommended you make a backup
3.wipe data and factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache
4.go back install zip from SD>pick cyanogenmod
5.install zip from SD>gapps
The names of what to click may be off by a bit and You probably already found this or know how but just in case xD

Hi,
Try THIS TOOL
dead scared now
the cell used to flash red light for a few seconds at regular intervals before when charging..but now its even stopped doing that. the red led now just comes on for a few seconds when i put in the battery. nothing happens after that.
What i did before this is that i flashed 4ext recovery though adb. Nothing else
Is there a probability that the battery must have drained out?

Till then can you suggest me any rom that doesnt need s-off and will be a very safe rom to install without any chances of bootloop.
Also i had updated to ics 4.0.3
I was wondering if i could find someones backed up stock rom (rooted) which i could just flash and not go through the hassle of tryin to flash a completely new rom with chances of again ending up in a bootloop?

i think my battery has gone flat...but i kept it on charging for more than 3 hours,it hasnt even warmed up a single bit. I cant get the phone to start. Please suggest some methods
Also when i tried connecting the phone to my pc, nothing happened. While the wire was stil connected to the pc, i pressed the power button and the red led flashed reglar at one sec intervals about 10 times and then one long continuous flash and then it went off. Also that was the time when i heard the notification sound in the pc of a device getting detected.
What to do now?
Do you have a replacement battery to use while this one charges? Maybe that will help.
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.
