[REQ] VZW Touch Wiz Voicemail For AOSP - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I've tried and tried and tried, but can't get any combo to work.
I love AOSP based ROM's but HATE the VVM app that I can hack in from the Nexus. The Samsung Touchwiz version is fantastic.
I know everyone will suggest google voice, but I need VVM for my work so that's not an option.
What would rock: A flashable VVM app that works with ASOP. I'd even make a great "Donation" to whoever came up with this.

Anybody?

I have something. I will post later tonight when I get home, maybe tomorrow morning at latest..

Visual Voicemail for 2.1

I swear I'm not new here (I mostly lurk) but I'll be damned if I can get the search to cooperate. Is there a VVM fix for 2.1? I could have sworn there was but i can't find the thread. And I'm sorely missing some voicemails.
its only in damage 2 at this point
most of the 2.1 roms here are not sprint based and therefore don't have the sprint apk for vvm working in them yet. Also damageless just introduced us to actual sprint vvm on 2.1 earlier this weekend with his DamageControl V 2.0 releases (R2 Currently).
In short:
you want Sprint VVM in 2.1? Get a rom based on Damagecontrol 2.0.R2 or newer.
Or: use google voice ;D
Ah ok, I guess I was mistaken then. Thanks for the input guys! And yeah I was trying to avoid putting ANOTHER rom on but, at this point...
Has anyone tried ripping the Visual Voicemail app from DC's Sprint based ROM and applied it to another 2.1 ROM to see if it works?

not to deter you as everyone will have a different experience but i used the Damage v2r2 yesterday and could not get VVM to download the voicemails or work properly...
there may be a fix in the 2500 posts, but i read them all before i flashed and although i tried valiantly to search, i could not seem to find a fix in the thread or elsewhere and i'm not about to read 2500 posts of which 1900 are COMPLETELY useless again just to fix something.
i will say though it was a SWEET ROM and i look forward to flashing once it all works out of the box...
R
I've tried both Damage and Regaw's variation and I haven't gotten VVM to download either.
I have the vvm app on my legend rom, so it's not only restricted to sprint roms

So could i in turn use dcv1 and use vvm?
I'm running DC2r2 and it's working fine but i'm getting text messages letting me know I got a voicemail too which is annoying. And I can't blacklist them with handcent since it's like the contact is sending it to you so if I do I won't get REAL texts from them anynmore.

Best ROM for me?

I keep trying to find a froyo ROM since I'm still on stock eclair 2.1 even though I bought my captivate on release date. There seems to be no ROM out there that doesn't try to shove their theme/style/apps down your throat. I just want a fast ROM that looks like default, preferably with TouchWIZ because I'm used to it and the music app, lockscreen, app launcher are awesome. I haven't been on the forums for a long time so I'm assuming ATT still didn't bother updating to 2.2 either.
Any suggestions?
I believe cognition is what your looking for since it is built off the leaked att captivate rom. I'm no expert but I think on most roms (pretty sure I've seen this) you have the option to use touchwiz when you go back to home it will ask complete action with and give a list of launchers and you can select to have that launcher always used.
Hopefully others will chime in but that's what I would do if I was you but for me I like the launchers and themes of the other rims.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Just get GTGtwlauncher with any rom. You can download and apply with SGStools.
Should be what you want

Ah, I see. Thanks guys.

Questions About De-Sensing The AT&T One X

I deleted probably around 85-90% of the HTC files via Root Explorer & TiBu. Everything is still intact except for Play Store & Talk, both of which I use pretty frequently. Does anybody know is there is anything besides the apks themselves that they need to work? I might have gotten a little overzealous & deleted a little too much trying to slim the rom down lol...I'm coming from using AOSP based roms (most recently AOKP on a Galaxy Nexus and have never had this issue after trying to debloat.
On a related note, if you uninstall the stock gallery, you won't be able to access pics from the camera thumbnail preview. If you install everything lockscreen related, it will default to the stock ics one which I thought was very cool.
*Edit - Crap, I borked native screenshot capability now too lol...
just wait a month, I think there will be good aosp roms....maybe even aokp...the rom I like the best...
there is aokp ported for htc one x ....when we got the cwm working perfectly...then it wont be far...
That's awesome news. AOKPs my favorite too. I'll have to search around for a market fix. Thanks for the info. I might just reflash the original rom tonight & be a little more selective with my uninstalls

No Love For Sprint N5?

What gives? It seems many of the roms in OG or in AD do not work with Sprint, data at least, on the nexus 5. A fix has been found by Team Slim, yet I don't see the roms being updated to work on Sprint. I understand some devs choose not to fix it as they don't run sprint which is fine but why not try fixing it, giving you a larger user base? I bought the N5 because I wanted a true google experience, and figured I would get to try out some awesome roms that were not available for my previous devices, but its almost the same here. This is a legitimate question, and I hope I don't get the usual high horse answer, "why don't you fix it" "we do this for free" etc etc I love that the devs put in personal time, im just looking for answers as to why a fix wouldn't be implemented if it is tested good and working.

Give it some time....... Its the ONLY CDMA carrier this phone works on... so for most of the devs this is a completely new thing
Or try fixing it yourself, like restore your APN's from a ROM with data working.

the thing is there is a fix, and its proven to work on Slimrom/Slimkat and the code has been put up for use by other devs, that's why im asking this question is it just the devs don't want to support sprint or is there something else
I agree completely. The fix has been posted for weeks now. Any dev releasing a rom without it at this point is being sloppy.

While I agree that ROM devs should be updating their code with the fix from Slim, one thing I can suggest is maybe just try using a stock rooted ROM with Xposed framework. I am also on Sprint, and while I used to love using SlimBean for my Galaxy S 3, I am also perfectly satisfied with stock Nexus 5 ROMs with Xposed framework and GravityBox. If you're not happy with it, then it's easy to just disable the module and run along. Just something to try out if you're craving more customizability.

side note do we know each other? lol same city
Is it only aosp that don't work? Stock works I assume?
Have you tried posting the link to the commit in dev threads asking for it to be implemented? If you're not doing it, maybe no one else is either

Lol. I doubt it, though it is a small city. I wouldn't be surprised if I passed by you a few times.

Google Voice Searches

Good morning.
I'm running Hyperdrive RLS12 in Safestrap running on Verizon S4 MK2. I thought I could say "google" and the search function would start but that is not working. Can someone provide me with some insight into how to get this to work.
BTW. Great ROM. Loving it so far.
Thanks.
