I had faced this issue when I tried to install Le Droid tweak on stock ROM ..
If you have a backup of ROM restore it.
If no backup then try doing factory reset using Hard boot .
If that also doesn't help the only option is running RUU

reflash your ROM, that should fix it.

How is restoration of apps works after reset?

Firstly, I'm totally new here. I had root my nexus s and installed cynogenmod 7.1 RC on it just last 2 days.
Then I tried a lot of cracked apps til I faced an annoying error non-stopped pop up when installing the new 3d interface apps..
I have no choice to reset my nexus and thought need to take time to reinstall all my apps and data again.
Reboot into recovery > backup (just feel curious to see what will happened) > wipe data/factory reset (decided to clear everything) > reinstall cynogen > reboot
It comes to the starting menu again and asked to enter my account and so on.. then I left it for around 30mins. When I come back to it, all previous app dy installed n restored..
Just wonder how it works even I dy wiped all data.. and how can I reset my nexus in very clean condition?
Thanks in advance!

What happened? All apps tied to your gmail account were restored. Including paid and (if it didn't screw up) even the free apps.
Why it happened? You didn't uncheck the restoration boxes in the Android setup.
Want to keep it clean? Don't check the restoration boxes after a factory reset/full wipe.

[Q] hardware reset galaxy sl

Hello,
i'm having problems with my galaxy sl, i don't know if it's from updating the version to 2.3.6 or if from rooting. the device when operate is heavy and the wireless take 2 mins to lunch and sometimes it comes with error sign on the wireless setting.
i want to do a hardware reset probably will help.
thank you
there isn't anything called hardware reset.if you want to reset then you can clear cache from recovery menu and then factory data reset data reset(if you're rooted)
but before doing this you must know that you'll lose all application and SMS's and phone contacts.please make a backup of these before data resetting.
how can i know if my phone is rooted? is there an application here that i can download it? i know i rooted it but then i think i might unrooted it but i'm not sure.
thank you
swith off the phone and then switch on again while pressing the volume up button+home key+power key.if a custom recovery shows up(with blue fonts) then you're rooted.
The easiest way to know if you are rooted is to check for the superusr icon in your app drawer
Press thanks if i helped

please help! com.android.phone and process.acore stopped

att one x, rooted and bootloader just unlocked. i had just restored a titanium backup when it suggested a reboot. after the reboot i get the messages com.android.phone and process.acore have stopped. then the phone reboots and the same messages again. anybody know how to get out of this loop?
We're you restoring Titanium Backup to a new ROM? It sounds like you could have accidentally installed the past phone application or other system applications. I suggest restoring again and checking the apps that are being restored

Hope you have not restored system apps or data... just do a factory reset... and restore only user apps... also u have not mentioned about whether you installed any new ROM, if yes then app data compatibility issue may crop up between different ROMs . Try the first solution first however....

i cant get the phone to stop rebooting long enough to do anything ive tried to do a factory reset and clear storage but all i get is an htc warning about development purposes
Can you get into the downloader? I'm prettysute you can access it by holding do the sleep/wake button and the volume button for about 30 seconds to a minute

Hold down the power button until the capacitive buttons start blinking (about 5 seconds). Keep holding it until the phone shuts off. The phone will be off for a few seconds, then reboot. While its off (screen and buttons dark), hold the volume down rocker. Don't release it until you see the white bootloader screen, you can factory reset from there, or go into recovery and do it.
solution
use cwm recovery reset everything(including data,system,cache..) ,switch to twrp and install any rom and see it working.it worked for me too(i had this problem).

why I should not factory reset phone again? Explain do let me knw!
Well you've seen what happened, that's why. You can do a factory reset, just do it from recovery, if you wan't more details check out jaggy's rom thread, somwhere there was explenation why this happens, I just couldn't find it now, sorry. Most roms get fu*ed up when you do factory reset via menu.
Simply because fonts folder symlinked from data to system.. .I think.. ...all you have to do is copy fonts folder to sdcard before reset. ..then if you're struck then copy fonts folder to data after getting stuck in HTC logo by going to recovery and using file manager? Aroma .. ..
This is just a theory. .I did it once and it worked for me. .

Factory reset from menu = death.
Factory resetting from recovery is recommended.

[Q] Factory reset rooted ICS?

What is the right way to do a factory reset in a P970 rooted ICS O3D?
I read I can´t do with the ICS setup menu, or I will be in a loop reboot
So, must I do it from the recovery? I will loose the root?
I don´t know why (well, I imagine I installed too much apps, and there is any bug with them) but I can´t expand down the upper notification bar, and maybe a restoring to factory will fix it.
Thanks
