hello.
i have sensation that is s-off and rooted.
now i want to unroot and i am confused.
i know that my phone came with 1.xx.401 firmware and i have same RUU.
now, do i really need to change to supercid?
RUU will remove revolutionary and CWM and i can do secureflag3 later, right?
i don't see the point in changig cids
thanx
The Super CID is needed to downgrade the HBOOT as Revolutionary changes it to a non-standard one. You can try it without Super CID but if it doesn't work then you'll need to use it. you can then change it back to your current one before running the S-ON command
i've done it without supercid with no problems!
my phone is now stock with s-on
thanx for help!
Wasn't sure if it would work or not, nice to know you don't need it for your own RUU
Hi all,
Used revolutionary to s-off my phone simply to debrand it.. I have now changed the CID which i wanted and now wondering how can I revert back to standard/stock bootloader with S-on and get OTA?
The current bootloader also reads revolutionary highlighted in pink with white hand writing..
I have already followed the very useful and comprehensive guide Viper put but I must be doing something wrong and Im lost needing help
Cheers
This might help. http://theunlockr.com/2011/10/03/how-to-unroot-the-htc-sensation-4g
Run the RUU you want to use, that'll restore the stock HBOOT. Then restore the CID to whatever you wanna use and just S-ON as per the guide

Hi,
If I check in fastboot I get CID 11111111 which I set myself during the setup of a custom ROM.
If I check with CID Getter application I get HTC__E11 my original CID.
Which one should I trust?
Also, anybody know if having a super CID would void the warranty? have to return my phone for repair so cleaning it up. All is different now is the CID.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I would trust the one that you get it fastboot as the one you get from CID getter is the one that is in the build.prop of your ROM.
S-OFFing would void your warranty. You need S-OFF to set SuperCID so there. Connect the dots
thanks!
Guess that's a typo and you meant S-OFF voids the warranty. You are right, if I can connect the dots they can do it as well would they check the CID
Need to find a way to change the CID back. Does not allow me to S-off now with revolutionary coz I think I use a too recent RUU (saw some related threads). Will try with an older RUU version.
Cheers,

YES! I meant S-OFF. That was embarrassing
I think you can just write CID just like how you SuperCID'd but writing proper CID instead of 11111111. I haven't done it myself so I can't help you there.
Just go to viper's thread here. He has instructions for S-ONing

I think what you are searching for is
fastboot oem writecid ............ (Your cid)
Be sure to flash a proper ruu first, or you might end up bricking your device turning s on

yep, already got it working.
I guess in my case the writecid was not working because I was back to S-ON and no root anymore
So, I flashed again the 1.50.401.1 ROM WITHOUT accepting the update, S-off, root, change the CID, flash the 1.50.401.1 again, change back to S-ON with the writesecureflag 3. Device can go now to repair.
Thanks for the help, great forum and info sources!
Hi all, I had to re-install a stock rom from an HTC RUU. Prior to that I was HTC unlocked, HBOOT 1.27, firmware 3.33, rooted, custom ROMs.
Right now the bootloader is re-locked, HBOOT 1.29, european stock 3.33.401.106 with 11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M radio.
The objective is to re-gain S-OFF and go trough all the way to custom ROM again.
I was thinking to execute fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
To my understanding this should clear off the relocked flag.
At this point to go to htcdev and proceed with that like I did already once.
Probably the above is too simple to work, but the whole JuopunutBear timing thing is a bit an issue having tried already in ther past.
Any help/feedback is greatly appreciated.

fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 returns bootloader to S-ON, it wont help you.
The only way to S-OFF 1.2x.xxxx HBOOT versions is JuopunutBear S-OFF. Oh and did you know you dont have to be S-OFF to flash ROMs, search for the Flashing ROMs with S-ON guide and follow it.
Jonny, thank you for your input. To be honest I did not know that it was possible flashing with S-OFF, I will look into this.
From you answer I understand that JuopunutBear S-OFF can be used the same also in the case the device was already S-OFF and relocked.
Thanks again.

you have hboot version 1.29.0000 yes? This means that the easier revolutionary method wont work on your phone (revolutionary is GingerBread only), so the only possible way to S-OFF on your phone is with the JuopunutBear method.
To get rid of the relocked text on the bootloader you need to flash the JuopunutBear hboot (which you can only do after S-OFF) then run an RUU. This will make the text say "LOCKED" again
Hello xda,
I made a big mistake while updateing my Hboot. Not knowing there were two different types of HTC One X, I used JBFW tool on my AT&T One X to update my hboot while s-off and unlocked with superCID. The tool changed my CID to HTC_621 and re-locked my bootloader. I was able to unlock the boot loader again but I can't get the CID changed back to superCID even with the oneclick supercid tool. When I use the oneclick I get an error stating FAILD remote: 41 model id check fail. Does anyone have any idea how i can get my supercid back? any help will be really appreciated.
if you are still s-off just write another cid? i think you can find out how to do it in the s-off threads.
