Is it waterproof? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Wondering if Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 or 10.1 are "waterproof" or something like that. Have any of you guys dropped your device in the water? Did it survive?

you can try and tell us!!!

Absolutly sure that they aren't waterproof.
There are too many Positions where Water can run into the Tablets.
Slot's, Speakers...

I'm sure it's not waterproof. You can use it, for example, in the kitchen to see your favorites recipes and touch the screen with wet hands but nothing beyond...

Tribute to a note2.

Broke a note2 and had to come back to my cappy as my primary until I get it replaced. I found this broken telescoping radio antenna and started messing with the screen. To my surprise it works like a stylus. Immediately I decided I don't wanna lose this so I emulated the note 2 and I molded a dock for it into the the back cover. Its unfinished but I thought it was pretty neat.

Whoa! Do you put that thing in your pocket or attach it to your arm with duct tape?

I'm sorry I don't understand your comment.
The "stylus" slides all the way in so that it isn't obtrusive.

Need help on a cover

So here is my dilemma I have a galaxy tab 2 7.0 and a 2 year old daughter. Naturally baby wants tablet baby wants to throw tablet.
Can anyone suggest a very strong hard rubber case that protects the tab all around. Been prowling the web but can't find anything that I have in mind.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I'm not interested in silicone covers, bumpers or flip cases just a straight forward hardcore rubber casing dare I say it in pink (cmon guys you would do the same for your daughters) lol.

You should see if the rubber case from the 7" main tablet will fit. It's made for kids to throw around. May not be a perfect fit but it's definitely kid tested.

Tablet or Fablet?

What would you prefer? Tablet or Phablet?
Depends on what you want to do. Or, you could get both.

While I think girls are more fit for a Phablet, as they always has a bag.
I love my GS4, but I can't imagine trying to carry anything bigger in my pocket day to day, so I'd have to go with the tablet as a semi portable device.

Yes, I agree with you. Get a tablet and one nice smartphone.
Prefer phablet

Display issue after 4.4.4 upgrade

Hey, so I Just upgraded my moto to 4.4.4 in the UK, and now there's a sort of smudge on my screen near the center left of the display, its very obvious when i use my phone in bed, and it annoys me non stop. The smudge looks like a white fingerprint but its on the display, like a dead pixel or something which it obviously isnt. I will take a photo on my tablet so you can see it, as unsurprisingly it doesnt show up in screenshots. I would greatly prefer software alternatives over hardware ones due to the fact im in quite a rural area. Thanks, Neo

Here's the picture. Sorry for horrible quality, but at least you can distinctly the smudge.

In my opinion, it looks like the display had some water

Try to dry the humidity with an hair dryer, carefully, really. This was the suggestion I can second, in my opinion. The better photo?

I've been really busy today working, so I'll take one in the morning. Also, if its water under the screen should I put the dryer on minimum heat?

Correct, I suggest medium heat and try short, multiple time heating. Difficult to sort out without a much clearer photo as stated from smbody else.

Here's a "better" photo, as my moto has the best camera of my devices, and my tab 2 has a 3mp shooter so the quality ain't great.
EDIT: been blow drying to seemingly no gain, will try later. In the meantime, any other ideas?

Are ( or is, the spot appears to be the same of the other photo) the places of the screen responsive to touch inputs with your littlest finger?
