[Q] remapping keypad with Hexgore ROM - HTC ChaCha

I searched and I'm not understanding what I need to do, so please explain or point me to a good link. My ChaCha is s-off(xtc-clip), unlocked bootloader, CWM and flashed in Hexgores stock plus ROM. My keypad, mainly the symbols when using the alt. key, are not functioning correctly. I know I can manually remap the keys, but I'm not understanding how. I would also like to use the facebook button for a flashlight app. Please help me with detailed instructions to remap, and something showing what number each key is and what its supposed to do, along with its location on the keypad would be helpful. I'm not dumb, but this is my first android phone, so please be gentle!

[Q] CECT W73 - Hard Reset

Hi!
I've just bought a W73 and set the password right away.
I used Sprite Backup to get all my contacts and data from my Asus P750.
At that point I put the backup file on my new W73.
After the restart, at the end of the restore, inserting the password, the W73 could't recognize it.
It means that right now I'm not able to access anymore to my new W73.
Does anybody know how to perform an Hard-Reset on the W73?
Because I cannot find anything on the owner manual.
In my Asus P750 it is very easy, you just need to keep the joystick upward while pressing the power button.
So I think that something like that must be present also for the W73.
The other possible solution would be to flash the ROM. Does anybody know where I can find the ROM of the W73?
Do you know which one is the official CECT website, where I can get assistance and download the ROM?
Thank you very much!
from akperio
I am seeking the same solution so if you find one let me know please!

[Q] How to unlock Bootloader on HTC Hero (GSM)??

I'm running Elelinux-7.1.0-Hero-v2.6
Would like to try different kernels, but can't get access to Recovery in Bootloader menu. What I have learned is that I have to unlock the bootloader.
Could someone please send me links to whatever files i need, and preferably instructions as well? I had a look around in here, I googled it, youtubed it, found nothing directly relevant and it bugs me cause I know a lot of people did this. So please, forgive my stupidety and help me out..
Seeing that you already run a custom ROM means you probably already have a custom recovery.
Boot your hero while holding the home button (so you will be holding the home and endcall button). It will boot into custom recovery. Be sure to know your stuff and read guides, do nandroid backups etc and don't go bricking your phone
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium App
God that was way easier than i thought! brand new kernel up and going! 2.6.35.11-Las_Venturas-0.4.6.3
Thanks a lot man! really appreciated!
Edit...
It's even way easier than this...all i had to do was to hold down endcall button, and instead of choosing turn off: reboot-recovery..
Sorry for taking your time, I'll do my best to be less of a noob in the future.. but thanks again!
And maybe other less talented people might learn from this..

[Q] Update to ICS 4.0.3

Hi people,
I am kind of a noob on this matters, i have searched a way to solve the problem but with no success.
I have a GT-I9000 with 2.3.4 XXJVR, its allready rooted, have CWM but no idea how its used...
I was thinking in upgrade to 4.0.3, its said to be the best so far, i wanna some help because i dont know what rom and kernel to use, a rooted kernel... have afraid to brick the phone. If you can help me with that i aprecciated.
In your opinion, do you think its worth? i heard its a lot of bugs so i am a little upprehensive with the possible result.
Thanks in advance.
i'm by no means an expert, but i've done this with mine and didn't regret it (only issues i've had are gps and facebook sync of contact list - tho i seem to be alone on that last one)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462035
there are instructions about halfway down the page.
all you really need to do is go restart to recovery or restart and hold the key combination to get there (i think it's home, vol down)
once there, nav the text based menus using the volume keys to do up + down and the power button to select.
it isn't super difficult, and the worst thing that i had happen was i had to put my phone into download mode and hook it up to odin. not the end of the world
And what about the gps problem? What is the problem with it?

I think we need more info.
Is your device rooted?
I'm guessing you're using clockworkmod?
Are you running a stock Rom?
i fixed the problem by installing a ROM (HD Revolution) that upgrade my phone to 1.28, then the 3dot remover worked.
thanks anyway.

[Q] ONDA VX580W Boot modification

Hello people,
I am working on a small project and I couldn't think of a better place to ask for help!
We are using an ONDA VX580W 5 inch tablet for our project and we need to modify it in such a way that, it always remains ON.
It is using an AXP209 Power management chip. My main question is, can this modification be done in the software itself (the kernel maybe?). For example it is getting it's power from the USB. The USB is removed and battery drains out. As soon as the USB is plugged back in, it should boot up automatically, without the need to press the power button.
We have tried a bunch of methods, using hardware modifications and playing around with the voltage. But I am just curious to find out if it can be modified in the software itself, and I need the developers' expertise to guide me.
Can the kernel be modified so that, it boots up if it is receiving power without pressing the button?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry, should've posted this under Android Q&A! Mods please help move.
Let me phrase the question another way..
Does the android kernel have access to the power management chipset so that I can decide when the tablet goes on and off from the kernel software itself?
ICS Custom ROM for Onda V580W
Hi, sorry if I may seem to stealing your thread, but i'm new and as the rules state, I have to post my problem in a thread that is already created, if it is similar to my problem. My problem is this, I have that same exact tablet as you do, but I'm looking for a custom ROM for ICS (Ice-cream sandwitch), the only ones I could find are either for GingerBread or Froyo. As this is my dad's device since he asked me to make it work as the stock firmware sucks a lot, he wanted me to find a custom rom but he really would like it to be for ICS rather than GB/Froyo.
Once again excuse me for hi-jacking the thread.
