Anyone tried the new Google Calendar on HTC's ICS ROM? - HTC Desire S

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar
Seems it breaks some functionality on some HTC devices

Any idea if the Desire S with standard HTC ICS ROM is affected?

[Q] Replace Desire's Sense with Stock Android

Hi,
I just bought an HTC Desire and I dislike HTC Sense, before experimenting with Cyanogen or such (which I have on my G1), I'd like to test regular Stock Android like the Nexus One has.
Are there any simple ways to change the full Desire's interface to Stock Android (not only by replacing Sense by another home launcher)?
Any ROMs to install a Nexus-like OS?
And, when such a ROM installed, will updates be handled normally?
Or, another possibility, to install all the regular Google Apps on it, like Messaging, Contacts, Calendar,... and let these replace HTC's?
Many thanks!
Steven
You'd be better asking in the Desire Q&A forum

Timestamp on pictures taken with HTC sense camera

Hi,
Looking for a way to automatically apply a timestamp on pictures taken with HTC sense camera.
The feature was in earlier versions of HTC camera with desire/bravo's sense version. Now I have a desire hd Rom and although it's newer, this feature is missing.
Thanks!
So I guess, officially, the feature is gone?

[Q] Sense Rom with Bluetooth Stack?

Ive Been looking for a Sense based ROM for my Inspire 4G that includes a BT Stack that supports HID devices, Ive done my Research and have only found a couple things:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128343
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767150
Now I know that both those have the "Just install CM7 it does everything" answer somewhere in the thread, and honestly, I did just that, I rooted my phone and installed CM7. and the Wiimote and Sixaxis controlers work great with my GBA and Sega Genesis Emulators.
But I don't like a lot of the CM7 interface Choices, such as the Phone that comes with it, and I prefer the HTC Message widget over anything I can find in the market.
On top of that It seems that the process has also Done away with my HSUPA
My Question: Is there any Sense Roms out that have Added the BT Stack that CM7 Uses.
And if not, since their code is on Github, how hard would it be to Modify a sense based rom to add the BT implementation?

No There isnt as alot of the sense parts are coded just for the HTC drivers. Would need to be able to change the base sense coding for the new drivers.
Thanks a Bunch, Guess its back to looking for a Rom,
Second Question: Im looking at Android Revolution and NoSense++
If this removes the Sense Launcher, It seemingly keeps all the things I like:
HTC Dialer
HTC Lockscreen
HTC Contacts app
Facebook for htc sense(I could Deal without this but a +)

and removes the things I can live without:
Sense launcher
Sense Skins
All HTC Widgets
HTC Direct
HTC Hub
HTC Peep
HTC Recommends
HTC Wallpapers
My HTC
Ereader and some Ebooks.
Flickr
News and Weather
RSS Reader
Stock
Weather app
Voice Dialer
SMS/MMS ap

Would this be the begining of a fix? Possibly to Install BT drivers after all this as a 3rd step? (from a non technical explination) Would it be possible to create a Script to then add the CM7 BT implementation, since sense is removed(though I'm not sure what else would get in the way...)
Only a theory

Even with those removed the rom still relies on the com.HTC.resources.apk and the sense jar files. Those are the ones where the coding would need yo be changed. Unless HTC updates the drivers to do this then it will not happen.

[Q] HTC widgets for Inspire w/ ExistZ aospX v3.1 ROM?

Is there anyway to put Sense on this ROM to get HTC widgets. I'm an advanced user and don't need a lot of instruction. Just what folders/files need to be added/edited. Please tell me it's possible. The widgets suck on this Galaxy Nexus cloned ROM. I would rather have the HTC Vivid (Smartbeat Supremacy v3.1) but the camera and google's voice searh do not work (yet)
Nope, your best bet is to use third party apps.

The Widgets are built into the launcher. The launcher needs HTC files, drivers and frameworks which AOSP roms do not use. If you need the widgets then you will have to run an HTC based rom.
A search would have told you this.

[Q] Sense 5 keyboard for AOSP ROMS

Is there any way to get the sense keyboard for AOSP ROMS? I've searched throughout the forums as well as online and have found a few 'themes' on google play (none free so haven't tried) and always come across the same HTC_IME.apk. However, I cannot install it, and when I move it to the /systems/apps directory and give it the proper permissions, it still doesn't work. I continuously get 'Unfortunately, HTC Sense Input has stopped working'. Is there anyway to get the Sense 5.0 keyboard or even the sense 4.0/4.5/4+ keyboard ?
I'm using PACman ROM (22.0.1) on an HTC One X (evita)
I doubt it. Just like the HTC people app, calendar, and other HTC based apps....you need the sense framework. I could be wrong, but I have done research, and without HTC sense framework you cannot properly run HTC apps
Sent from my Carbon-ize Evita using xda-developers app
