Hi, i have an i535 phone with broken screen,
and want to know, if someone checked that before, will i9300 lcd work on i535?
if it's the same as our Verizon sg3 it should.only difference between the other's • Verizon, sprint,T-Mobile- is the bloatware(the LCD is just the shell) the international one has the same screen as well.so it should work if I'm not mistaken...
All the sg3 has the same screen...just different guts lol....

i've actually tried this by using a i9300 display on my verizon i535 model. everything seems to work fine except the home button. I wish it would work because the i9300 display i have is the titanium gray and it looks cool

that's due to the new digitizer you think? or is it possible something with your home button was damaged? i would also like to try the i9300 lcd but not if the home button doesn't work

It's definitely gotta be the new digitizer or its just not compatible because I put the old display back and no problems. I have 2 galaxy s3's, but I was trying to use the i9300 screen on the i535 because the camera is dead on the i9300. There's nothing wrong with my i535 with the exception of a little damage to the bottom corner of the glass near the back button.
this thread is old now
what i can tell, is that LCD and Digitizer are all the same between all S3's i9300, i9305, T999/i747, L710, i535, , but the difference is in frames where the LCD sits (the "home" button is attached to the frame btw, "menu" and "back" buttons are on the flex cable connected to LCD)
all frames between this models are not compatible (only ATT and tmobile are the same )
so if you getting screen with frame (it makes installation much easier) you will need to check for exact model,
if it is just LCD+Digitizer - it really does not matter (installation process a bit harder)
Has anyone else tried using the i9300 with the i535?

If you will use just a glass or glass+lcd it will work
If you get glass+lcd+frame it will not work, frames are different because of motherboard design

I replaced just my glass, it was for the international s3 no problems.

Props to these who figured this out. Both my mother and I have a verizon s3 (her pebble blue me sapphire black)
She unfortunately dropped it and cracked both the glass and digitizer. I had been thinking about giving the screen replacement a shot since I'm going to have the phone nearly entirely apart I was wondering if I could buy an sprint s3 housing and do the screen replacement and swap out the guts from the Verizon to the sprint one? The reason I'm asking is my mother is absolutely crazy about the color purple and sprint is the only one that has a stock purple s3. Will it be possible or certain things won't line up/ cannot be modified to fit the vz guts inside?

im new to the photon q and im trying to figure out the beam feature. Ive been googling to try and find it out but I cant get any info on the photon specifically. i tried to beam a picture to my sisters s3 and it opened up the the play store and said search not found or something similar. when she sent one to me it would send me to the same place or it would say that my device cant receive large format files or something like that.
it sent webpages just fine but wouldnt do pics. is this because they are on a newer version of android?
as a side note question is this phone a legit contender in the smart phone world? I bought it from best buy to give it a try because they let you try it for 30 days and if you dont you can exchange it for somethign else. Is it in league with the s3? is it crap? I like the keyboard a lot and hate to not have one but I need to upgrade because my beloved epic is dying. what are your opinions on the phone? versus the s3? some other valid contender?
thanks all
I like it, but I'm a whore for a keyboard.
AFAIK the NFC chip in this thing is completely useless. Doesn't work with Google Wallet, and I seriously doubt if it'll work with the S3. I'm betting Sammy's NFC sharing only works with other Sammy devices....
that kinda sucks. its far from a necessity to have it but it would have been cool. is it a hardware thing or software do u know?
I talked to someone at sprint about the NFC once b/c I was tryna do the same with a s3. They basically told me that its not compatible b/t ics and jb b/c of the way the data is compiled, sent and received or something like that. It's been so long since I was told about it. Ics to ics yes that is supposed to work but not ics to jb.

Uhm... That's not true at all. When the S3 was on ICS, it didn't work. Whenever we get JB, it still won't work with the S3. Again, AFAIK the Samsung beam is proprietary to Samsung.
At any rate, I am hoping it's just a software issue. We have the NFC chip, and I don't believe the chip itself is crippled... but I am just speculating at this point. I do not know for a fact, just wishful thinking! :good:

Hey, the N7's NFC worked with the Photon Q...? That's impressive! So it seems we have a regular NFC chip, perhaps it's just Google Wallet that doesn't work... Wonder why?
Google wallet is typically blocked as per the carrier because they have or are about to have their own NFC payment method (like Verizon and Isis).
Also, the GS3 uses its own funky thing for NFC. The Q's NFC works the same as any other device, so things like Android Beam work. GS3 uses S Beam or whatever they call it, which only works between GS3 devices.
To answer OP's additional question, yes, this phone is up there on the top of the "powerful smartphones" list. The screen has a lower dpi than most, but it makes up for it with the processor. The only faster chips on the market are the S4 Pro (in the DNA and Nexus 4) Exynos 5 (Nexus 10).

That sounds kinda sorta along the right idea. From what I've read jelly bean enhances NFC for larger file transfers by automagically initiating a Bluetooth connection between the devices to send data like pictures.
Here's the fist link I found that briefly mentions it too.
http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/27/google-details-jelly-bean-nfc-features-android-beam-upgrade-ta/
So yes, in essence NFC is useless for us with ICS, you could send contact info (like palm pilots used to do with IR), web links, and other very basic textual information and that's it for now, the larger things should be doable once we get jelly bean hopefully at some point in the first half of this year.
Samsung's S Beam uses wifi direct to make a connection as opposed to the bluetooth connection made with Android Beam.
Wifi Direct can send a hell of a lot more data at a faster rate than bluetooth. U can download the app "wifi direct" from the app store and send photos, movies, etc.
i sent a website to my friends tmobile galaxy s3 with NFC enabled on both devices just by touching the backs. it DOES work on this phone
Hi, I've always loved Motorola, and the Nexus brand always keep my attention; I know that in specs, Nexus 5 is better than Moto X, however, I'd like to hear your opinions, I even checked on eBay and the 32 GB model of Moto X is more expensive than the Nexus 5 one, so that makes me think, which one is actually better? I will purchase one tomorrow, so I'd like to know what do you think! THANK YOU!
EDIT: Do you know what are these phones made of? I have a Note 2, and I hate the "plastic" that is made of, which one is better between Nexus and Moto?
After weeks of hard thinking, I chose the Nexus 5 over the MotoX. Still waiting for it to ship to see if I actually like it.

I'm moving away from Verizon and retiring my Galaxy Nexus. I'm going to be using AIO-Wireless and the ATT version of the MotoX doesnt have an unlockable boot loader... But every other MotoX version does ... I love the Nexus line up as I have both generation nexus 7's and a Galaxy Nexus.
But the Multi color LED light is a plus for me. It's unlock able and root able without voiding any warranty. I'm a bit sad of the reported battery and mic/sound issues for the N5.
Does to Moto X lack of LED light? what's about battery and mic/sound? is it serious? :S thanks!

I believe it doesn't due to the Active notification screen.
For the issues with the N5 check the links below. I'm sure Google/LG will fix these in updates.

I am considering purchasing a Nexus 6 when it becomes available on T-mobile but would really hate not being able to pair it with my Gear 2. I really have become addicted to it. I had been originally holding out for the Note Edge to replace my Note 3 but then was able to get one of the Nexus 9 tablets and I think that I am becoming a convert to "pure android"! Any thoughts or speculations would be appreciated. Hard facts would be even better.
still looking?

I have both devices but have only paired my android wear watches so far with the N6. that being said if you are still looking for an answer let me know and we could do some testing.
Probably not... I don't even think you could get the gear to pair on non tw roms? It took awhile for them to port it to the n2 but that didn't have full compatability. The way I understood it is there more concerned with running it on the Samsung devices so it is left up to the devs and I don't think samsung has quite hit the mark on the smart watch market yet.

I have been using my gear 2 and my gear S for a while now. The nexus 6 is no different. There are a couple ways to go about it without using touch wiz. The gear 2 is actually much better considering that there is already a rooted custom rom out for it, and like i said, with that you will get about 95% functionality. I believe the weather app isnt 100% working and one more thing whixh i cant think of, but all the good stuff works perfect and even a few added features. Making/ recieving calls, ir blaster, watch faces, bluetooth, notifica.... all thats 100%. If you need any help or wan't to try it just pm me. I think this op may have found his answer already though.

Hi there. I sent you a PM about a similar request. Can you please check and let me know?
Did you guys actually figure out if it works with nexus 6?
Hi, someone managed to connect the gear 2 with nexus 6? I'm trying but, but I do not get results. If someone have a solution can post a guide?
Would appreciate it too
Please help!!
I have gone through all the methods in trying to connect my gear 2 to my nexus 6 and nothing will work!! Has anyone actually found a way?? I don't mind if some thing don't work, I just like the text and call features anyway.. Please respond to me, I love my watch and don't want to go over to a different one
any updates on this? will the samsung gear 1 OR the gear 2 watch work with the nexus 6 2014 version? thx
I tried following an XDA tread to connect Gear 2 Neo to Moto X 3 XT1575, with watch still on Tizen. No joy.
This method worked easily, but it will be an Android Wear watch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-2/development/please-help-kernel-compiling-android-t2992953
I don't know if it's posted but if not this video helped me connect both my gear watches to my phone.

Yeah thanks I'm sure some might use. However the downfall for this with the gear s Is you are severely limited. At this point why own the gear s? You might be better off getting the gear s2 at this point. That or just get another cheaper smart watch that doesn't have 3g s2 capabilities.
There is a forum on the gear s part that they have been able to get it dang near fully functional but I and a few others haven't gotten it to work on the v10. It sucks as I prefer the gear s but if I can't get it fully functional with the v10 I might just try out the s2

I did just this, switched from the Gear S to the Gear S2.
As you,I actually liked the Gear S,but,I'm glad I made the switch, works well w/the V10.
My preference is the square/rectangle form factor, but, the S2 has quickly grown on me.They finally got the watchband right, flows right in w/the body of the watch & the clasp isn't clunky when doing desktop work.
I still have the Gear2,which is still my favorite watch by far & holding out hope that someone can get it to work w/Marshmallow.
