[Q] Battery pinout HTC one S - HTC One S

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know the battery pinout for the HTC one s battery? My phone had water damage and seems to be completely bricked. The battery itself seems to be allright (+- 3 volt over the pins measured on the battery itself), but I would like to find out whether the circuit attached to the battery is still ok. However when measuring any of the wires coming out of the circuit, I see no voltage whatsoever. Does anyone know the function of the circuit attached to the battery or the pinout of the wires? (I've added an image of the wires coming out of the circuit)
Thanks a lot,
Daniël

Does anyone have an idea? Our maybe another forum/website where I might find the answer?

There is a post from someone in the general section staying they installed a new one x battery. Maybe she them a pm asking about your question?

Has Exploding charger ruined my HTC?

Hi all, I am hoping there is an Egg head of epic proportions can help.
I had my sensation plugged into a griffin duel car charger which went pop.
The phone works fine if I use a battery charged with an external battery charger but -
when plugged into a wall charger the led is solid orange and the battery indicator animates charging, however the battery will go flat just as it would if not plugged in.
When plugged into the laptop the charging situation is the same as above but the laptop cannot see the phone at all.
I am not against taking it apart and changing a bit but cannot find any other similar problem on the internet.
Any help at all would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance,
K

What do you mean with 'went pop'?
Sounds like your (mini-)USB-board is broken.

To clarify the Griffin in car duel usb charger went pop. I opened it up and a tiny tin can on the circuit board had exploded. From then on the phone has the described problem. If it is the mini usb board is it fixable or replacable?
Thanks for your advice

Yes is fixable search teardown guide on youtube and you will see how to remove motherboard, if not you can at least boot in FASTBOOT USB?

Do you think i need to replace the whole motherboard? I was hoping for a cheaper fix if possible.

Don't know if your phone work you can look at the lines that are used to. Connect motherboard to the charger connection

A100not recognizing battery??

I have an A100 that was given to me by a friend. It works fine when plugged into the charger. It says "battery status unknown" in system settings and when I unplug it it dies of course. My friend says that their dog chewed the charger cord so they put it away in the closet for about a hear and recently bought a new charger. This issue has been a problem ever sense. I'm thinking that the charging circuit may have been fried. I'm not sure however if the charging circuit is built into the battery or the main board. I can order a battery for around $50 but I don't want to spend it if it isn't going to fix the issue. I tried to OTA to ICS but it won't start the install without a battery charge at least 30%. I plan on breaking out my trusty multi-meter later today and testing some voltages at teatbpoints in the mainboard. Any other ideas? Has anyone else experienced this issue??

My A100 does the same thing. It started after I replaced the LCD. I replaced the battery with one from eBay, but it made no difference. The charge may have run down while I was waiting on the LCD, but I don't know for. As far the eBay battery, who knows about that. It could be charging circuit, since two batteries did the same thing. But, now that I think about it, the original showed 3% charge for a while which enabled me to move to another spot and plug it back in.

Wish I could get ahold of a circuit schematic for this thing.....I would construct another charging circuit.

good :good:
Mine did that a while ago, when still under warranty. Sent to Acer, they fixed that charging circuit. Apparently a common problem. I suspect a regulator chip, but it's a guess.

You could honestly just charge the battery sepretly, and I bet it'd work. You could even, if you're talented enough, strap a bigger battery to it and be able to use it for days.

With my A100 not even recognizing that the battery is plugged in, I doubt charging it separately would make a difference. I just want it to "think" the battery is there and charged to at least 30% so I can apply a few OTA updates and acquire root. I don't mind having to use it while on AC power only. I have a Galaxy Tab 2 that I can carry around.

Touch Screen Responsiveness While Charging

Hi guys,
I have a new XT1033 (Aussie dual sim version) Moto G.
When using the packaged charger, the screen becomes quite unresponsive. This seems to be a problem with a few other phones too. (Droid Incredible, GSII and Epic 4G all have threads on this problem.)
Why does this happen, and is there a fix?
Thanks,
Greg
It also happened to me with Samsung charger... I changed USB cable and everything seems to be working fine from that time... but I don't know if it's problem in USB cable with one contact missing or it just happen randomly.
Happened to me as well, when first charged it and was still on Jelly Bean. No such problem since the update to Kitkat, same cable and charger.

I've found it to happen on both JB and KK.
But I've also had periods on both where it works as usual. you're probably just experiencing one of those periods.

Just as I grabbed the phone to read the email about your responce and it happened again Soo yeah, apparently it happens on KitKat too... Good thing the phone charges relatively quick.
I got the same with a charger screen doesnt work...but it doesnt work also on other phone..
Im using another 1A charger now and no problem when charging.
It's caused by electrical interference from the charger affecting the capacitive screen. Sometimes using a case can make it worse.

I had the same problems as well, and i contacted Motorola, they said the voltage in the charger you're using is to low

You nailed it right!! It is usually due to the 'Parasitic capacitive coupling' and poor quality of Power/charger/USB cable.. This occurs only in capacitive sensing units and when using SMPS based power supplies. This even affects laptop trackpads..
I'm having the same problem with my moto E and don't think its worth starting a new thread. I googled the issue and ended up here. Does anyone know of a charger that doesn't do this while charging? Also it doesn't have the issue when plugged into the computer. Right now for charging I am using a charger from an old blackberry bold. when using a charger that makes the phone do this, is it causing damage to the phone at all?
I had a similar issue with my old Motorola Defy+ and its charger. It's a problem linked to charger you are using. Try a different one.

I'm using a samsung charger that someone abandoned at one of my dads sporting events and it seems to work ok but I can't jump to conclusions to quickly. So far so good though
I also noticed it when charging. The screen became less responsive, not really a problem for me since i only charge my phone overnight.
Is this related to the charger voltage? I'm using the original motorola charger.

It could be related to voltage, because capacitive touchscreen recognizes finger's position from the the voltage variations on the display's surface
As you can read on Wikipedia:
In this basic technology, only one side of the insulator is coated with conductive material. A small voltage is applied to this layer, resulting in a uniform electrostatic field. When a conductor, such as a human finger, touches the uncoated surface, a capacitor is dynamically formed. Because of the sheet resistance of the surface, each corner is measured to have a different effective capacitance. The sensor's controller can determine the location of the touch indirectly from the change in the capacitance as measured from the four corners of the panel: the larger the change in capacitance, the closer the touch is to that corner.

By the way try a different charger and be sure that matches these specs:
voltage 5.0V
current 0.5~1.5A

wow that is so far off from what I was using to charge mine no wonder I had problems
The one that gave me issues was only 750mA and 1.5v or something like that.
The one I have now is 5V 2A
will the fact that it is over the 1.5 A damage the phone at all?
My charger also has 5V 2A and I am having the responsiveness problem

No, it won't.
I took the text below from here
In order to keep the price low, Motorola made many cost-saving decisons. In this case, our research showed that many people already had a suitable Motorola charger available, or a PC or other device that can be used to charge Moto G.
Any Motorola charger with the correct micro-USB tip will charge your Moto G. You will see the best results when the output of the charger is between 500 mA and 1.5 A. The higher the output, the faster your Moto G will charge.
If your charger output is higher, the MOTO G will automatically restrict the charging rate. If your charger is lower, it will simply take longer to reach a full charge.

Just example of bad responsive touch screen. Can't erase
I have totally different issue. Touch screen of my MOTO E is not responding. When I connect it to PC through USB Cable, after some time, touch becomes OK. But again when I remove the cable, after some time again the touch become un-responsive. Has anyone face this problem.

Reasons For Not Charging Battery

Hey there,
So, HTC Desire S, running a stock ROM (O2 i believe). Worked fine for ages until the charging port was broken. So replaced it then i broke the connection on the main motherboard. So bought a new motherboard, new screen to accompany that board and a new charging port. Only original parts are the battery and casing. The battery does not charge but will boot with a charged battery?
Any thoughts on what could be my problem?
Cheers,
Adam

Might be your charger?

Or it could be that your usb cable is damaged. what I dont get is that you say you got a new MB should have came with a new working charging port with no need to fit another one. Are you sure that your connections were sound?
Fixed
Cheers for the replies but the battery was a dud, i tried another battery from another HTC and it charged!
I was shocked when the new Motherboard didn't come with a new charging port but oh well sorted now.
Cheers,
Adam

I have the same problem on my phone. I am not a hardware expert but i went to one and he added number wires on the battery and soldered them into the board where the connector was. It worked flawlessly i got 5 to 7hrs sot depending on the usage for about 2 years and than one day the battery died I replaced the battery and it still works
