Hi guys,
So I have this qt. I have currently unlocked boot loader and rooted stock ROM and also a custom ROM on my htc one x.
So I wanna unroot my stock rom. So unrooting this will it cause issues like data wipe of my phone?
Also I have twrp installed so can I switch between this unrooted stock ROM and custom ROM?

Answer: Yes...lol..
there is a unroot option in the supersu or superuser app....i think
so...do that..then make a back up with twrp...no it won't wipe your data..

Hey guys, can someone tell me how to update my phone to run on 1.85 or higher. I'm on a mac and already rooted with unlocked bootloader. I'm not opposed to running a custom roms.

Do you have a custom recovery? If not, look around for CWM or TWRP. After that, download a rom and you'll be on your way Use the custom recovery to flash it (rom threads have more specific instructions) CleanRom 2.6 is what I'm running and I love it. It's based off 1.85/1.88
If have cwm then the only thing I need to do is flash the rom. Will that automatically put me on 1.85 or whatever? No other installs will be needed?

Ever since I rooted I have not been able to get into recovery to flash anything. Is this because I rooted and have to have clockwork to get into recovery now? I was stock rooted 1.73 now stock rooted 1.85 OTA
Thanks

How did you update via OTA to 1.85 and keep root? Does the OTA not take your root away? I'm only asking because 1.85 isn't rootable at the moment. Did you ever unlock your bootloader and install a custom recovery when you were on 1.73?
I rooted 1.73 then used Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper to keep root while I did the OTA to 1.85. I never unlocked or installed a custom recovery mostly because this is a company provided phone and didn't want to go that far. This phone is so much different than the Rezound I came from and I'm kinda gun shy I guess. Lol

Gotcha. Your phone still has the stock recovery. You need to unlock your bootloader and install one of the custom recoveries before you can flash anything.

That's what I figured. I guess I need to "grow some" and just do it.
Thanks!

I'm currently on cm10.1 with s-off and unlocked.
just wondering if I can use the JB OTA zip file from ruu.androidfiles.org to bring my phone to official JB. If yes, can I just load the zip file in TWRP and flash that way? thanks!
If you do it may lock your phone back down and I don't know what would happen if you flashed a sense based update to an aosp ROM.

Just flash a stock rooted ROM posted in Development.
Simple rule, don't install OTAs on a rooted Android device. At minimum, you will lose root.

Hi guys..i need help here..my friend ask me to unbrick his HTC Explorer..its rooted already..he said its happen bcoz he wrongly deleted software..system file perhaps..so the situation here, its stuck into white screen with HTC logo..i search google, i can unbrick it using RRU..but one of my friend said, RRU cannot be done on unlocked bootloader..so i wanna ask if anyone can guide me, how to unbrick it to stock rom..i dont know whether this phone bootloader unlock or not..how to check it? thanx
EDIT : Done..its unlocked and i just flash any custom rom..is there any pure stock rom that flashable on CWM? or i only can use custom based on stock only?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189199 This is as close as it can be to stock rom, there is pretty much no difference between this and ruu, only installation method. If you want check out this thread also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225776 this is with the newest official update for explorer

my friend, i tried both, but end it with bootloop..but other custom rom can boot to homescreen..hurmm..but i wanna stock rom..did i need to flash stock kernel first?
That's weird... No, kernel first is not needed for the phone. Can you try first flashing this http://www.mediafire.com/?lim1od8qrjdbblp and after that one of the roms, another idea is to search for a backup of stock rom, then just restore it, I'm sure somewhere here in the forum I saw one, just couldn't find it now and I don't have a lot time, will try again later.Or ask in of the rom's thread, I just have no clue why stock roms don't work for you.

It appears to be the case of soft brick. Just download any custom from of your choice (IMO go for cm9#12) and flash it.

wipe everything via recovery, make sure your bootloader is locked, get into fastboot mode and run the RUU on your PC.

I have an unlocked rooted Verizon M8, and I used sunshine to root it. But for some reason I can't get any updates what so ever.
I need to get a stock HTC sense UPDATABLE ROM. I'm new to this stuff, so I need some help.
Any help would be appreciated.

You don't get updates because you uninstalled or disabled some of the bloatware.
You only have root through Weaksauce or did you flash TWRP and SU through it?

The rom runs on top of the firmware. If you want to run a 5.1 Lollipop (LP) rom you need to have install 5.1 firmware first.
For you it's probably best if you flash the S-off RUU from dottat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...zip-ruu-m8vzw-5-0-1-s-off-onlynewest-t3047103
That'll get you to stock Lollipop, rooted with stock recovery. It does wipe your phone, so do your backups!!!!!
