Hi,
I have recently lay hands on a Motorola Droid 2 Global and I want to upgrade its OS to ICS (GB in origin).
I tried 4 or 5 different ROMs (CM9, MIUIs, liquid ICS and more) and everytime the device is booting up it pops up a message "com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly..." and keeps popping it up every few seconds.
what can I do to fix this?
thanx.
p.s.
I restored to back up nandroid already. device is alive and kicking, but with GB...
As I have explained many, many times.
Enable airplane mode.
Add mobile data to the notification pulldown toggles.
Long press the mobile data toggle to open Network Settings menu.
Choose GSM/WCDMA auto.
Disable airplane mode.
Mobile network not available and com.android.phone has stopped

This forum is for the Motorola Droid 2 Global, and Gasai Yuno's instructions work correctly on that device. They do not apply to a Samsung Galaxy Ace. I suggest you ask for help in the correct forum for your device.

So, when I got the phone I wanted to turn 4G off to safe battery. So I went onto the market and downloaded the LTE On/off app and used it accordingly. However, I've changed multiple roms and now that I've re-installed the app and want to enable 4G again there is no option for it at all. LTE is not mentioned in any of the setting options. How can I enable 4G again or get the options to show?
What ROM you running? Had the same issue running Liquid.
Try fixing permissions?

Wireless settings, mobile networks, select network, cdma/auto or LTE. If that isn't there I don't know.

You shouldn't need the LTE on/off App
You can just go to the wireless and network settings and enable it there and you should see LTE and CDMA Auto select it and it should give you back 4G, unless of course it is down. Good luck.
Also try and uninstall the LTE on/off and re install might help also.

If for some reason, it's not accessible in mobile networks as mentioned above (it depends on the ROM you are using), it might be in the notifications > quick settings or you can dial *#*#4636#*#* on the phone and it will bring up those settings.
I'm running Liquid.
And it's not showing up in phone information, wireless settings or anything.

IIRC, not a setting in Liquids ROM. Above 4636 method works, 4G/LTE shows up as unknown. Be advised, last time I switched to 3G and tried switching back to 4G it would not connect, stayed on 3G. Had to reload a different rom and re-aquire 4G. Oh well, I just leave it on 4g. Btw, also running Liquid GB.
Doesn't really answer your question, more of a heads up.
Good luck

On Liquid GB 3.2
I am running Liquid GB 3.2 and here is how I was able to get my 4g back up and running:
Settings- Wireless and Networks-Mobile Networks- Network Mode- I set mine to CDMA+LTE/EvDo auto
I have played around with the different setting in the pop up menu after you hit Network Mode and the CDMA+LTE/EvDo auto seems to work the best for me.
Good luck and let me know if that helps solve the issue.

Got it, thanks a million.
I'm surprised no one else has faced this problem. Mine and 2 other Explorers I have seen have it.
The mobile data gets disconnected on its own. The 'E' symbol from the network icon goes away. But mobile data is marked as enabled in the settings.
Sometimes, toggling mobile data a couple of times does the trick. Sometimes I have to toggle airplane mode then toggle data. Sometimes even this doesn't work and I have to reboot the phone to get data to work.
This disconnection happens every couple of hours, so it is a real pain.
I am using cm9, I had the problem on stock too and on every ROM I have tried.
I have tried marking the network type to 'GSM only' in the 'Testing' menu (from 'GSM/WCDMA auto') as I read somewhere that this solves the problem. Still no luck.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I guess my apn is correct, since net does work normally (ie. when I'm able to connect). I have tried two sim cards, and know 2 other people who have the same problem, one of them uses a different operator.

Not necessarily, sometimes it goes off while I'm browsing etc, and then just won't come back on. And keep data always on is enabled in settings, and I don't use any battery saving app.
Any idea what the problem is?
Which rom you are using now?
Check if you have data connection or not.
Did you try to connect internet using the same sim card with another mobile
If another mobile connects to internet then reflash your ROM or try another ROM
hit thanks if helped

I am using the unofficial cm9.
I have data connection right now. I have used this same sim with my Nokia phone before I got my Explorer without any issues.
Maybe it IS an operator issue, but then there should be many complaints from India about the same thing right?

whenever i flash new rom
data wrks fine
bt persinally i hv seen that wen i install twitter
it behaves like ur prob n dsnt mtter if i uninstall it
it kps on dscnncting randomly until i flash new rom
it's a network problem, I had the same issue once so I called the network service centre & they told me that they were upgrading the system & recommended me to use the data plan after few hours.. so after few hours I called again & they confirmed that the problem was solved..after that till now I have no disconnection issues.
With BSNL sim card, I have helped so many friends connect to internet properly by creating an APN "bsnlnet". By default HTC and all use the old APN (gprssouth.cellone.in). That connects for a while and disconnects.
And Nokia phones automatically receive a configuration setting message from BSNL but Android doesn't.

I've used cm9, cm10, cm10.1, aosp, aokp, jaggy, cm10.2 weekly. It's the same with my TATA DOCOMO sim. I ported to vodafone and with the correctly configured apn settings, its working great. It's definitely a provider problem and has been for the last 2 years.
I had searched prior to this post but no definitive answers were found
Phone: VZW S3 running BeansROM 14 (and formerly 15). Android 4.1.2.
As the title says, Network Mode has disappeared from Settings>More Settings>Mobile Network>Network Mode. I just re-flashed build 14 yesterday and it's disappeared already. Why did it disappear? Normally it wouldn't make any difference but I'm planning to take my phone to Europe in July and I need to be able to switch it to GSM/Global.
I have Phone Info as well but that hasn't been working properly either; I can switch some CDMA options but it gets stuck on the previous selection and never switches back to 4G/LTE. Only the option in Network Mode can reset it.
Is there a solution to this? Thanks.
Edit 1: It seems to be something caused by Phone Info. I have Phone Info installed, haven't opened it, and Network Mode is still there. I'm also back on build 15.
The other day I was on my Razr HD and the mobile data stopped working. This has happened before so i went down the list of checking if my data was set to on, airplane mode was off, etc. Everything was how it should be, and I still cant use my mobile data. The only time the 4G logo shows up is when I am connected to a wifi network, and when I turn wifi off, the logo goes away. In the status settings it shows my Mobile Network State as disconnected. I searched the forums and saw something about making a new APN, or editing an existing one, but it wont let me edit the APNs and there is no option to make a new APN. As a last resort I did a factory reset of the phone, and the problem is still happening. Does anyone have a clue what is going on?
You can try Tweakker in the play store....there are others as well

I have tried that but to get it it to work i need to make a new APN, and phone doesnt display that option anywhere. The only option it has is "reset to default"
Just use House of Moto and flash with the keepdata script

I had the same issues on official 4.4.2 (XT907 - Razr M)
I fix it with replacing APNS.CONF (*/system/etc)
I took APNS.CONF from KitStalk (AOSP-based ROM)
To this way you need to have root-access
You can try attached APNS.CONF
Don`t forget to backup original file!
Good luck!

Okay so the other day my phone just stopped connecting to my wifi. This is an open network that you have to have an account to gain internet access after you connect. I have no access to the settings on the network side. It gives me the above reason nothing else. I know the the problem is on the phone side because i have numerous other devices connected. Also my phone ( LG X charge {SP-320} 7.1.1 stock no-root) connects to every other network with no problems. Ive done factory resets. Ive done network settings resets. Ive done resets via dialer codes, via pwr+voldown. Ive gone into the settings in my account fir the wifi to which i could not find even something alike to enable/disable, blacklist etc etc. One time i got the network to connect for about an hour by using the dialer code to enter the hidden menu and entering the SSID into the "enablenetwork" section which has not worked sense. Theres a "disablenetwork" also whoch i tried to disable then enable, nothong not even a toast notification. No matter what i do in the wifi section of hidden menu the app stops and has to restart. Ive read a few post about trying to connect with airplane mode on, useless lol, no effect. My favorite part lf all this is i can enable one of my other devices as a "repeater" and connect to the network through the second phone. Thank you all in advance for any and all help.
As of yesterday, I too, am having the exact same issue with my LG X Charge!! Never had this happen before. Totally stumped. . HELP!!!
