Can I print directly via a USB to a local printer ( not a network printer) ? I am trying to use the galaxy note 10.1 ultimately to dispose of my lap top permanently, but this is the missing step .
I don't believe so as there's no way to have the print drivers.
Yes you can print with usb easliy but you need paid version of printshare app there will be any other free app but I dont know

Download Google Cloud Print from the Play Store. It allows wireless printing from any Android device to any printer so long as the PC the printer is attached to is switched on.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5wYXVsb3NsZi5jbG91ZHByaW50Il0.
Works like a charm and it's totally free- I've been using it for a few years now.
I use printershare to print from my androids. Yes its a paid app, but it has paid for itself already. I use mine via wifi, not sure about usb. There is a free version you can check to see if it works with your printer before buying.

You can Print directly via USB OTG with a Samsung printer. and only samsung printers!
But, why you want connect a printer to your Note 10.1 when you can print via wireless(WIFI)?
Install CloudPrint from Google PLAY store.
have a PC installed last version Chrome, setup a Printer with this PC(no mater with any LPT, USB or Network printer).
in Chrome setup section open advance setup then login cloud print account, setup cloud print default printer.
after that open CloudPrint App setup cloudprint defalt printer in Google CloudPrint,
Then you can print anywhere, anything in your Note 10.1.
I too use PrinterShare. Where this app is great is you can remote print from anywhere to your home printer. You must have the app on your computer as well. It detects your computer via email address. Very dependable

Is there a way to print to a WiFi printer?
That depends on your printer brand. Most companies have an app for their printers on the market. I use the Canon app.

What is the application called for Canon? I have a Canon printer I'd love to use, but don't see anything but "printbot."

Thanks. Now I need to find the app.
PrintShare in the market, I think there is a free version and a paid version (PrintShare Premium).
I use the paid version an it works well with my HP printer.

Would this also work on a printer connected to a PC via WiFi?
If you have Dropbox (which is one of my favorite apps) install this. Works great.
I have installed PrintShare on my phone and printed the test page without any problems. I purchased and installed the key (PrintShare Premium) and PrintShare still ask for me to purchase the key. How do i get past that message?
I have version 5.5.0 installed i have tried to install 5.6.0 but get a signature error.
Need some help.

+1 for printershare. It works great!

Google Cloud print!
Surprised nobody has mentioned Google Cloud Print. You have to have the latest Chrome version installed on your computer, but I've used it with my rooted Nook Color, and it's pretty cool.
You download the android app from the Market, and then there are instructions to be found on the web on how to set up Chrome.

My father has a Samsung GT 7.7. Being a noob, he doesn't know much how to use it. Device is not yet rooted. I am not staying with him. So no possibility of connecting through wifi connection. I would like to remotely access his device from my pc, so I can remotely install apps and such. Installing apps is easy, cos I have his google email and password with me. What I'd like to be able to do is connect to the device in real time with something like teamviewer so that I can customize his device, access his files load his device with my huge collections of ebooks. But with team viewer android device can access PC and not vice versa. Is there any way I can do this?
Teamviewer has a Samsung only version, wherein you can remote the device from a PC or another mobile device with teamviewer. It can be downloaded on Samsung Apps. Oh and btw you can only install it on a Samsung phone/tablet with stock rom.

if you have your fathers google account just sign onto google play, select the apps you want to install and it will automatically push the app to the device associated with the google play account. very easy to do

I can find team viewer remote control, which I have already installed. But it works only android to pc and not pc to android. Can you point me to a link or something?

That is easy. But I want to be able to access his file system and apps so I can make it user friendly for him. He he doesn't even know how to import books stored in memory to ebook reader.

Thanks so much, team viewer quick support enabled me to access my father's device remotely. Only caveat is that it's a bit slow. But otherwise I can get the work done. No more giving instructions over phone which is really irritating for him as well as mine.

Hello I have been trying to print on tablet but it would always tell me google cloud print and stuff. I want to print on a actually printer. How can I do that?

Depend on which printer you have, at least it should be a network printer -- not USB hooked to dedicate PC.
I have a HP printer(Officejet4620),WIFI connection setuped. Install "HP ePrint" APP from Store, and it's good to print.
As for other brand printer, I believe they have the similar solution.
Hi, i tried connecting my printer to my GS7 via the provided usb connector but the phone cannot detect it. I'm using printershare to link the printer to the phone but the latter does not detect it...
I downloaded printershare app for my cheap android tablet and the latter detects it without any problem...
What's your view on it?
Do you know any alternative printing app?

I'm guessing you have a basic (non-network) printer. You may need to download the plug-in for your device model.
Settings - More - Printing - Download plug-in
Another alternative, if your printer is connected to a computer that is running Chrome, is to use Google Cloud Print. Really simple, you can print from anywhere and your printers sync between all devices that are logged into Google.

What app or service are you using on your "cheap Android tablet"?
Maybe try adding the printer with the Samsung print plugin.
What is the printer normally connected to? Would Google Cloud Print be an option?

i was just wondering whether it was possible to do so with the gs7...
i tried google cloud print a while back before getting the s7, sometimes, the formatting of the document does not come out right..
If you have local network share the printer on your pc and afterwards downolad the apropriate app for the printer
