Is there is any way to increase ram????
I think not possible
But search in Google (ram expander) : it will use your sd-card space to increase ram size
Like you see in win7 when you plug pendrive it will ask you for "ready to boost"

Take a look at this tutorial. But I don't think it'll work.

Normally in linux that's kind'a what swap does, but don't expect mirrecles. Alto I think 512 is enough, explorer's main down side is 600mhz's proccesor not ram.
Thank everyone for posting

HTC Explorer has absolutely no downside.. Itz a bugdet phone, yet gives the performance of an HTC One V.. This kind of performance is considered very good..
The only downside of this phone, yet, is that we have no method to turn S-OFF.. Once we have that, it'll be a perfect little beast..

Lol! U kidding ? Im holding a One V right now in my hand without any silly tweaks or some rom and its unrooted on the other hand ive explorer with a custom rom and root rights etc.. but still V can feel the difference as u can compare 2 cell phones which hav a vast difference in their prices.

I didnt mean literally ofcourse.. I meant figuratively.. Itz giving a very good performance, when compared to the other phones in its price range..
The comparison betn HTC Explorer and OneV is irrelevant, and was merely a joke.. I failed to make it clear..
So yes, I actually WAS kidding..
But seriously though.. Very nice phone..
You can try swap and compcache.
Also you can try to increase lowmemorykiller values to have more free RAM.

Anyone have an opinion on your phone?

Pros: good built quality, htc sense, qHD resolution.
Cons: size is a bit to big for my hand to use phone while walking, battery time, not very good stock ROM.
That's just some things that I can say now for using this device for a few months.

R u joking? Not a very good stock Rom? For a stock Rom I can say this is probably the best gingerbread Rom that came out stock with any phonr

Sent from my MIUI.us Sensation 4G using XDA App
Cons
. Build quality is great but a number of people have dust issues.
. No camera button on outside (who cares-
Pros
. Great development!!!!
. Overall just a great phone
. The screen is actually really good
. The size is perfect
. The phone just plain looks dope

I came from a gs1. I didn't have very big hopes and I was conscious of the possibility of not having such a great performance on the sensation.
But I bought it used, the price wasn't high and I wanted to play with Sense.
PROS
. Performance is actually very good, much more than what I expected. The phone is fast and you can easily get +7000poins on both Antutu and CFbench. @1.5ghz is more or less on par with GS2.
. Battery (with ICS) is really outstanding
. The phone looks good, the dimensions are perfect
. There's a lot of development
. I don't have dust under the screen
. qHD is great, you'll see the difference when you go back to a WVGA phone lol
. GPS is great
. Sense is pretty great and scrolling between homescreens with ultrasmooth rosie tweaks is probably the smoothest - iphone like - experience I've ever seen
CONS
. The LCD is ok, but I still prefer superamoled (by far)
. The power button is a little flimsy, it feels like it could break easily and for some people it does. I always use a wake up with volume button mod just to be safe.
. Sometimes there are some touchscreen issues due to grounding problems
PROS:
Well built, feels good in the hand
Camera is ace, screen lovely.
Design is good, the slight curve on the screen is a classy touch
It's speedy, very responsive and the best handset I've had (coming from a HTC Hero, Moto Defy then an Xperia Arc S (which was great too))
CONS:
The battery life. Oh god the battery life
I've found the volume rocker on the side to be very sensitive. Find myself pressing it by accident of you hold the phone in landscape mode, or when you're taking pics you zoom in by accident
I also thought the outer case, while durable and looking good, was FAR too slippy to hold sensibly. It felt like it was going to squirt out my hand every time I held it.
Overall, I would have no qualms about recommending it (Although the Sensation XE is probably a better buy now)

After looking at the radar.. it's a Windows phone, that's what you want? It's also 1ghz... 5mp camera (which also doesn't look that much better from reviews) but to each his own. Pick what you like best
If you do end up buying it, you will be coming back.

i used samsung focus before, and here what i think about window phone
*pro:
- smooth, nice UI.
- good battery life
* cons:
- web browser is suck ( no flash option, no bookmark organize ..)
- no official youtube app.
- Almost like iOS ( need Zune desktop, no real file manager , no directly download file from browser..)
Overall, WP 7 is great for normal users, not a geek.

I think windows phone has potential. Get it *unlocked* and add a file browser and a proper video player I will be down!! SOOON!!! But only if ICS(BEST OS EVER) and FLASH didnt exist LOL
I would never give up a sensation for that. That's comparable to an exhibit 2! but the camera is way better on an exhibits 3mp! If you don't have ICS on your sensation I would def suggest it. It's amazing I put away my galaxy s2 for a while because it's so smooth. Went 13 hrs with power save mode on and still had 64% left. Then again everyone has different needs... What do you truly need?

I came here from WP7, its a lovely looking OS and the Titan I had was so quick, 105th quickest on WP bench. But the development is non existent! Unless you buy one of the 1st Gen ones, you cannot do anything. And if you want it dev unlocked the only way is to pay MS and with that you can only side load 3 apps!

No the unlock is a developer unlock. Pretty much just allows you to install non market apps. If you enjoy the freedom of android, youl have a shock going to windows. But if you just want a nice, good looking, fast phone then go for it. To be honest, i wish i kept my omnia 7 aswell as my sensation. I do kinda miss windows but android gives so much more.
i thought the sensation has f2.2 lens also
I would stick with the Sensation... you will regret it if u choose Radar as I think that it is step back..
Im planning to maybe pass on my sensation to my 67-year-old father. It would be his first smartphone as well as first touchscreen one.
The issue is, that my father is not an expert in electronics by far (barely knows how to read and write text messages). His old phones have been plain nokias (yeah the legendary ones) and such. Also his fingers are very thick (about the size of a billiard stick).
Alas what do you think would be the best ROM to suit him?
What im looking for is a simple interface, easy to use, and something that has good batterylife (he often forgets to charge his phone)
Trying out different ROMs isnt that simple to him because if he learns to use one function of a ROM then it will be difficult to adjust to a different ROM that functions differently.
So what do you suggest?
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
How about virtuous inquisition,? It is senseless, stable, excellent battery life, no frills, Rom. I personally think that would be a excellent choice for seniors. He won't have any problems with it. Hope this helps. I know if I gave my mom a Rom , I likely would choose this for her. This way he won't be burdened with problems or battery drain .I think this is the best choice. Best wishes .

That might be a good solution
Im currently running Bruces CM10 kang and I think its a little bit too complex

VI is my favorite stable ROM but I'd have to say that MIUI is the best ROM for an elderly person. The large icons, the simplicity, really everything is much easier on it except for the browser (download dolphin instead).
Good luck
Thanks for the good answers

I think it is opposite. Gb is easier than Ics..also as CM7...If you install CM7 you can install launcherpro or other launcher, and resize big icons on your preferances. i think that ics has much "rigid" interface than cm7.
ics has incorporated those bloatware "beasts" like tweeter, facebook chat,gtalk...etc. etc...so you should think to remove them from rom before installation.just to avoid sporadic popups and notifications that could confuse him...CM7 does not have it. (and it is noot needed to have).
I recommend Hypersensation CM7 .
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that a stock looking Sense Rom like ARHD would be suitable for elders. Sense widgets are pretty user friendly, setup a coupe of home screens (not the default 7). I think that would work. That's whhat I would do if I had to give an android phone to my parents.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
If you are going the MIUI route, gb/ics/jb are practically all similar. From my experience ICS had over 20hour battery where GB had like 12hour so you might want to look into that as well.
I'd go back to stock or install hypermiui (by far the most battery efficient)

You posted this in the wrong section .
For me, its durability, i had an accident while driving a bike, i slid over the road with my Pico in the pocket, it survived without any scratch.
Other than that, they way it provides excellent performance even though its 600 MHz, and its easiness to install root and custom roms (i have used many samsung phones but they are a pain and most of the time i ended bricking them).
