[Q] Unroot Galaxy note 10.1 (wifi us) - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi i have searched all around for this question and cant find it anywhere. i have been experiencing problems with s-note not working. lots of problems with it. i have a few folders in it and some open while some do not. for example i have 2 folders one that is called ss and one that is called math. my ss works fine and i can open it and work on it normally while on the math one i open up the folder then it freezes and a few seconds later it says "unfortunately s-note has stopped. This happened to me in the middle of school and i couldn't take notes that day. when i got home i decided to try and unroot it and try to do a complete reset. the first thing i did was use superuser and unroot the tablet. then i did a factory data reset. when that didn't work i googled that and got very limited results one said that i need to download a 1 g. file w/ .rar. they said to flash this w/odin like what i did to root it. i downloaded it and when i tried to use odin (i clicked pda like i did to root it) i then realized that pda didn't take .rar it took .tar. i have tried to refresh snote as well. i am on 4.0.4. i tryed to update it to see if that would help. the update downloaded like normal but then when i tryed to install it it brought me to high on android clockworkmod recovery. tryed to install and wouldn't install
thanks for looking

[Q] Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus - Wi-Fi no longer working

I have a rooted GT-P6210 that was working perfectly fine and last night I updated Busy Box Free from Google Play. Busy Box Free reported an error with the install and shortly after I noticed that my Wi-Fi would no longer connect. It just reports "Error" after trying to connect to Wi-Fi.
I tried re-rooting my device but that didn't fix my Wi-Fi issues. I researched everywhere I could think of to unroot my device but all the threads seem to refer to guides that I don't see and firmware links that no longer work. I managed to find a copy of Odin3-v3.04 (not sure if that is the right version) but I still don't have instructions on how to do it nor do I have the firmware that I need.
I decided I would try going back to factory settings by powering off the device and booting into system recovery. I have done a wipe data/factory reset multiple times but Wi-Fi still doesn't work and I don't even know if that removed the root job I did.
When I plug my device into my PC and run Samsung Kies it reports that I have the latest firmware PDA:LA3 / CSC:LA3 (XAR)
So I am stuck and not sure what to do at this point. I have a pretty useless device that won't connect to Wi-Fi. I don't know if I wait around for ICS and install that if it will fix my problem.
Is there anyone that could help me restore my device to factory settings with actual guides, and provide working links to the firmware I would need?
Thanks for your help,
Bryson
I have an identical problem - albeit with a P6200 supplied by UK mobile network "3"
Busybox tried to update itself from 1.20.0 to 1.20.1 (using "Smart Install")
For whatever reason it failed. From then on, the Wifi wouldn't turn on - the button in the pop-up panel (can't remember what it's called!) going from grey to greyed-out green while trying to connect, and eventually giving up and dropping back to grey again - in control panel the Wifi section then just says "Error".
Also Tethering no longer works... clicking on "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" gives me "Turning on..." in grey for 15-20 secs and then "Error"
I've not tried a factory wipe/reset or anything yet. Any suggestions?
Many thanks!
I have also had this issue with my Galaxy Tab 7 Plus (GT-P6210) since Monday evening.
When I noticed the problem I was going to try and restore a backup. During that process is when I noticed that I no longer had root access.
This morning I had a friend look at my device and he noticed that the 'Auto Update' was active. I thought I had that deactivated but apparently not. I’m wondering if an update was pushed out that destroyed root and as a result messed with the Wifi access. So far I haven’t gone any further than this.
Those of you having a similar issue, have you also lost root access? I wonder if re-rooting if that would solve the problem?

I started having the exact same issue two days ago, I've done countless factory resets and same deal, wifi comes up with error when trying to turn on.
I'm using an international p6200
PDA: P6200LUBKL1
Phone: P6200LUBKL1
CSC: P6200LUUBKL2
I've search everywhere for that firmware to try and do a re-install with Odin, but I cant find it.
Update: Just done a full factory reset, and still no Wifi.
Would a full firmware flash sort it? I've found the correct firmware for my UK "3" network P6200 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517934
This is for flashing with Heimdall:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265
... though I've never used Heimdall - or even flashed a ROM TBH - so a bit hesitant to give it a go......
Update 2:
Just flashed with stock firmware and Odin - all back to normal, Wifi working!!
After much searching around I was finally able to find the correct original firmware for my TAB:
P6200LUBKL1
I found it on a Chinese site: (I cant post links yet lol )
With Google translator, I was able to download the file and flash the TAB using Odin3, everything worked perfectly, and Wifi is working fine again!!
I also had this problem after trying to update busybox, only I also had a random SoD issue that had me constantly rebooting my device. The only thing that managed to fix it was to Odin back to stock. I'm reluctant to root it again, but at least the problem is gone...
If you open the zip that you use to root this device, you will see that it is basically a binary called su and one script that move it to your device and set permissions. If you want to remove the root, you only have to delete this single file,
In some devices is not as easy, what the script do on our update package must be done with exploits, but the result is the same: move su to some folder on PATH, and set permissions.
That is it, there is no chance to be root fault, seems like some problem with busybos. Actually people like to blame root a lot
The same exact thing has happened to me with my P6210. When I put the device to sleep, I usually turn off wifi. This time I forgot and when I woke it up yesterday evening, the BusyBox updater was open. It failed, of course, and now my wifi won't turn on. No MAC or IP address.
EDIT: Used Odin to return to stock. Rerooted (but did not install CWM) and then installed Superuser, updated su binary. Then installed Busybox Installer which then installed Busybox. Stayed away from Busybox, which seems to have been the source of the problem on my device.
my bad..
Just updated Busybox to version 1.20.1 myself using the smart updater without any issues. Got message it installed correctly and wifi still works even after rebooting.
edit: One difference between me and the op is that I didn't use Google Play to update Busybox I used the apps smart install through the app itself.
Model GT-P6210 with LA3 build.
Could someone try to uninstall busybox?

I tried to uninstall busy box still no wifi.
In recovery mode I tried to reinstall my previous load from the file I had on my SD Card. Again no luck.
I'm willing to do a wipe on mine and put the original firmware back on. Has anyone done this with P2610? I have been looking through the forums and I have seen a lot for the P2600 but not much for P2610.
Thanks
Kyazuh
Do you have root still? I can give you a copy of my /system/bin and /system/xbin. As you are about to flash it new i think it could worth the shot.

Yesterday after I flashed with the stock Rom, wifi was working fine, I rooted the tablet again installed busybox again and have not experienced wifi issues as of yet.
leodfs using RootChecker it showed that I did not have root access anymore.
isalas16 did you flash from the SD Card using the recovery mode? Or did you use a desktop program like Odin or Heimdall? Also do you have the name of the stock ROM file that you used?
I'm on the newb side of things here and I want to make sure I'm using the right process and files.
Thanks
Kyazuh
leodfs, could u send me theses files, I m with the same problem....my gt-p6210 (brazil)....no wifi, ill try fixit...
thanks....

That did the trick for me. Uninstalling busybox and factory reset did not work. Flashed stock with Odin.

[Q] p3110 stuck on logo after Heimdall root and Odin root...

Hi,
I've been using Linux for over ten years but am a newb with tablets and flashing etc. Thought I'd be able to stick Linux on my P3110 but soon realized I needed to take baby steps first. So I tried Heimdall to root my device according to the instructions on androidauthority.com galaxy-tab-2-7-0-p3110-root-clockworkmod-recovery-96473
This did not work so despite many attempts so I eventually filed a bug report for Heimdall which was addressed in the wip/1.4RC3 branch... which I may have got a bit too eager to use before it was quite ready. I rebuilt despite the warning the build files weren't then updated. I tried it anyway and it didn't seem to work, but third time or so lucky it appeared to work. Unfortunately the P3110 reset but stayed stuck on the Samsung logo.
I've now got a Vista install inside VirtualBox and have sucessfully used Odin to flash CWM Recovery onto it, and then used CWM recovery to install some other root package ( tips4tab.com how-to-root-and-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-7-0-wi-fi-gt-p3110 ) but still have the same result: the P3110 stays stuck on the logo.
So all the while I've been researching how to do this I've seen hints the solution is to install the stock rom onto the device, but many solutions seem to involve Kies which from my experiments thus far won't recognize a non-working device such as mine.
Anyway, I eventually found sammobile.com and am currently downloading P3110XXCLK7_P3110OXACLK7_BTU.zip which is the latest firmware for my P3110 (UK) which from what I believe needs to be copied to an SD card and the SD inserted into the P3110.
My question is does this sound like the right thing to do to get my device working again?
Yes extract the 1.1gb P3110XXCLK7_P3110OXACLK7_HOME.tar.md5 from the Zip and use Odin to install it to the P3110. It takes some time and afterward you'll see a yellow android dancing the dance of life with a blue data stream. After rebooting the device will then take you through the initial setup stage again
good
Yea just what dat guy is sayin :good:

[Q] Connection issue with some apps. plz halp? :/

I'm having a similar issue with 2 unrelated apps. The first is the playstation app that was recently released and the other is Triangle Away. On Triangle away, it is saying I need to download an add-on, but then get a connection error immediately. It is the same with the playstation app, It times out on the launch page before even getting to the log in prompt.
Now, everything else works perfect on my phone. I'm getting 30Mbps d/l and 20Mbps u/l. I've tried them on all LTE/4g (hspa+)/3g/2g and wifi. SuperSU is also working fine with all the apps I have installed. It was happening while I was rooted with custom roms, so I used Odin to unrestore factory image and unroot. While unrooted I tried the playstation app and still nothing, I then rooted via odin and tried both an no luck. I then tried rooting through phils recovery and nothing changed. The only reason I care is because I'm worn out on custom roms and want to go stock and just update like normal when 4.3 comes out, but I can't reset my flash counter.
I feel like there's something wrong with my phone, but with factory everything it just doesn't make sense. if you'd like me to grab info for you, please post instructions if it's a lengthy or possible unfamiliar process as troubleshooting system info isn't something I'm familiar with.
Thanks for your time! I hope someone out there can help.
Edit: I have a T-mobile Note 2 (t889)

[Q] [SOLVED] 220.27.1 OTA install problems

Hi everyone,
I received the OTA update notification a long time ago but didn't have time to take a deep look into it (baby on the way... now arrived !), but I'm trying to install a lollipop ota update on my moto g.
It's not my first android device, I had about 10 of them and messed around with them, so don't be affraid to use the vernacular directly, but I'm aware that I might be making a rookie mistake too
My phone is a 1st gen 16Gb Moto G. IT's running 4.4.4 (System version 210.12.40.falcon_umts.Retail.en.FR, I'm in France by the way). I did a few things to it :
- unlock bootloader
- install CWM
- root
- install xposed
- install cerberus and moved it to system apps
Before trying to install it I tried to reverse the steps back to stock :
- move cerberus back to user apps, and uninstall it just in case
- remove xposed
- unroot using the option in the SuperSU menu
- go back to kitkat stock revovery, using mototool v2.6 (so this might a 4.4.2 but I didn't find another one so far)
Then I clicked on the OTA notification, anouncing that 220.27.1... was ready to be installed, downloaded it ok, chose to install it.
Everytime I tried the phone rebooted, began the install and after a short while showed a error message and rebooted.
I tried to install it by putting the OTA zip file in /sdcard and install it with the stock recovery, but here's what I found out :
After downloading the OTA on the phone if I go to /cache/ (where the ota zip file is downloaded. To do that I need root access so I got to flash cwm and root it again, fyi) it shows another file, not corresponding to 220.27 but named : Blur_Version.210.12.40.falcon_umts.Retail.en.FR.zip .... which is weird because it's the version that's supposed to be installed already !
I tried something else, found the "Blur_Version.220.27.1.falcon_umts.Retail.en.FR.zip" file on a forum, put it on /sdcard/ and try to install it through recovery... same error.
Does anyone have an idea on how to install it succesfully without having to flash back a stock firmware ?
Thanks a lot to anyone giving a shot, you rock !
Mat
Ps : i tried to find anything similar on the forum but didn't manage to. If i searched with the wrong terms or didn't notice it while browsing trough the different topics, please tell me if you have a clue, and sorry about not having searched well enough.

Need help with Samsung Galaxy Amp 2

Okay this is my very first post. Let me start off by saying this is like my second Android phone. Previously I had the Galaxy J1 thru verizon but never had any issues. All my other phones have been all iPhones and I don't know anything about Android rooting/flashing etc. I've switched to Android recently after having practically every iPhone since the original. My problem is that I rooted the Amp 2 following the instructions from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/galaxy-2-rootable-t3384285/page4. It worked, the main reason why I decided to root the phone was to gain more system memory which I'm disqusted that Android takes up a lot of it's OS or w.e in its system memory and to bypass Cricket's stupid tethering block on the $60 plan without the mobile hotspot. Once I flashed the file provided via odin and rooted with kingroot, I would get a security notice that unauthorized changes have been made and that I would need to reboot my device, that was fine with me but I did so only to find that the message still appears every fifteen minutes so I disabled it with the package disable pro that I bought on the google play store. The problem I'm having is that I can't encrypt my phone and
SD card. Everytime I try to do so it wont work and I can't even get the SD card to mount properly so I unrooted the phone with kingroot and restored my phone back to factory. Still the same issue.... For whatever reason, it wont let me encrypt the phone again and I cannot get back whatever pictures from my SD card I had and a backup of all my contacts I imported from my J1. All I wanted was to try a custom recovery and ROM but I want to make the phone stock again because I been having so much issues. Like I've stated before I don't know anything on Android rooting and flashing, only iPhone jailbreaks. If somebody can help me out that will be great. I understand that the phone was given to me for free by porting over my number and that I can easily get another Android for cheap but all I want to do is get some assistance.
I downloaded the stock ROM file but I can't seem to flash it in Odin or using the recovery mode if that makes sense to anybody reading this thread. I've tried clicking the AP box to select my file but its a zip file and I can't get it to work.
Helppppp
Bump need help recovering back to a stock ROM. I must of screwed something up. I've downloaded the stock Rom over the internet but I can't seem to get it to work by Odin. CAN SOMEBODY HELP CUZ I CAN'T EVEN DOWNLOAD ANY APPS OFF GOOGLE PLAY!! PLZ HELPPPP
