I just want to knw basics of rooting like wat s a kernel,rom,mod,flash,stock,ics etc etc s ter any page in dis forum to knw abt all these if so Pls share it

Your phone might be galaxy ace right .. .. First root ur phone ... just search on xda "Rooting of galaxy ace"
Then search custom roms for galaxy ace ..thn hudge list will be available.. Each rom wil be having itz own specialities man.. Read the description and also the comments and then download and flash..
Tutorial for flashing is also there .. goto to youtube for videos

Windows phone 7

Guys do you want windows phone 7 or wp8 for our little pico. Then follow this steps and enjoy.
1. Download launcher 7 from this link.

You can also use paid version. Its better or you can use launcher 8 if you find it good enough.
2. Transfer this apk to system/app using ny file explorer and set permission as follows:-
Read Write Exec
Owner * *
*
*
3. Delete any previous launcher.
4.Reboot.
You can download following apps from playstore to enhance experience.
a.Wp7 contact lite.
b.Zplayer
c.Messaging 7
If you want i can upload a rom with aokp jb beta#2 with overclocked kernel released by cute_prince.

Launcher for PICO
Launcher 8 is quite good. But when you open an app in the phone, irrespective of the status bar style you choose in launcher 8, the status bar in the app reverts back to the stock one. Can you do anything to fix it?

Tried. But after reboot many things start force closing.

Getting into android development

What's the best way to start android development (ROMs, kernels, etc)

start from the basics
there are many guides out there to develop roms and kernels
kernel development needs knowledge of C
you can start with rom development but referring custom rom development threads , preferably for your device
first you can develop from base firmware like stock or cm7
add/ delete apps , ringtones , bootanimation , font etc
then you can learn how to decompile apk's so that you can edit Icons , add modifications like 15 toggles , Jelly Bean style notifications etc
once you are familiar with all this
you can approach to source development

Hi , hope u all r fine, i have a question from senior members of xda.. Can anyone tell me how i can upload my some creative work on xda? I have make some uccw skins & their uzip files, now want to share with others but no option i did found in xda app , kindly help me, will be really thankful..

You can share your themeing creativity in Android Themes section. And if its Device-specific, you may have to share it in your device forum's Android Theme section.

If you're asking about Device-specific forum, then the "Android Apps & Themes" must be under the Android Development section. Try to open your forum in web view to see exactly like in webpage.

[Q] how to port roms???

hey i want to port a cm7.2 based rom from the GT-S5830 to the GT-S5830i plz help

There are tons of threads here on xda-developers teaching how to port ROMs.
Do some search next time before posting a question. This is the first rule on XDA. Always do some search before asking.
No offence but if you can't even find a thread to teach you how to port a ROM then I'm sure you won't be able to to port a ROM. It's not as simple as you think.
