The thread on the latest OTA is all about installing it... I haven't seen any comparisons between the two OTAs, and I have searched. Maybe I've missed it?
Anyways, has anyone gone from the 1st OTA (H2) to the 2nd OTA (I3)? What are the differences, if any? I know some people had problems with the 1st OTA, but mine runs great. I'd like to know if there are any real advantages to the second OTA compared to the first.
I know the OTA fixes a lot of bugs in the shipped ROM, I'm not looking or any information on that.
Thanks!

The one I think most people notice from LH2 to LI3 is the change in S-Note...
LH2 added a preview box on the bottom left. You couldn't really do anything about it. It was just... THERE. Annoyed people like crazy (didn't bother me so much.). In LI3 they removed the box, and added scroll bars. They also added the ability to view notes as a list instead of thumbnails.
So..
Stock S-Note: no preview box, no scroll bars, no list view.
LH2 S-Note: preview box, no scroll bars, no list view.
LI3 S-Note: list view, scroll bars, no preview box
LJ4 S-Note: llamas, no scroll bars, no preview box

I used gala s theme on earlier cyanogen nightly build and it made my camera fc alot of people had this problem and a solution came up to flash a older camera zip i did this and it fixed my camera however now when i update to newer nightly mods i dont thing the camera is updating with it becuase im not gettin other camera features other people are saying they have like ability to chane picture quality and size i can change video quality jus not picture does anyone have an update zip for the newer camera or apk...?
Try this, open camera app, see the settings on the side? click on the first icon the one all the way on top. I can't recall what it is for but anyways from there try scrolling down on the little pop up menu. Some of these settings you're describing are sort of hidden...I guess I can say. I was lost wondering where these settings were before and then I was told by someone on the cm6 nightly thread about where they're located. I hope I didn't confuse you even more. Hopefully this fixes your issue if not sorry thats all I'm able to help you with.

Guys can somebody help me out? I've flashed the very latest 3.32 firmware package from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618) and I've tried out both DarkForest and the very latest Elegancia ROMs. On each, the browser is absolutely awful, Xda for example takes forever to fully load before you are able to double tap to zoom and then scale the page up. And then when you do, the text goes unfocused for a second and then finally scales up appropriately. Also panning around the page tends to get a bit 'sticky'.
This is driving me nuts, the browser in Gingerbread was MUCH more fluid and text scaling was instantaneous. I've tried searching but no one seems to be reporting this issue. Please don't tell me that this is by design? It's really awful, I mainly use my phone for web browsing and ICS has ruined for me a previously enjoyable experience.
Does anyone have this same issue as me?
use google chrome
Browser is super smooth and is loading web pages fast. Perhaps you have high standards.
The only issue I have is, that if I click on a link within a different app, say gmail, it won't take me to the link, but rather the last page I had opened.

You didn't answer my question; are you seeing the weird unfocused and then scale up issue when you double tap?
Well, for me in Gingerbread, that NEVER happened, it was much much faster. And I shouldn't have to use Google Chrome, the point is HTC have broken something.

Yep, it's a bug with the stock Browser.
Also, can people say exactly which firmware version they are using? Maybe there is a problem with the latest one? I want to try every possible permutation to help get rid of this issue.
Also I found this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1550841
Seems like I'm not the only one to have seen this issue.
I have absolutely no issues with the ICS stock browser. Since I've tried it, it's the only one I use. I don't like HTC's take on it though.

Are you saying that when you double tap to zoom, the text DOES NOT got fuzzy for you for a split second, before properly scaling up and into focus?
If it absolutely doesn't then I'd be very interested to know which firmware and rom you are using.
On Gingerbread you see, this fuzziness 'middle step' never occurred, it when straight into scale.
use a different browser, stock everything is lame I use a different launcher GO SMS for messaging and chrome for web
ICS Browser+
Try ICS Browser+ in the Play Store. I prefer using it over the stock one only because of the added functionality and features. Expanded Quick Controls and Gestures are awesome!

But does that fix the fuzziness on double tap zoom? I don't care about extra features really, I care about the rendering and the speed.
I haven't had any of the probs you mentioned. I've been using the ARHD 6.5.1 ROM for ICS. However, are you using the stock HTC Browser or the AOSP one? Its easy to confuse the two. The HTC Browser is 'stock' for an HTC phone but its NOT the real ICS browser that Google makes. Once I figured out how to get the AOSP one in my ROM over the HTC one, I've switched to that every time I loaded a new ROM. I feel that its better than the HTC one and I think its hardware accelerated too, but I could be wrong. There's another thread somewhere on how to switch the browser.apk files that I've posted in before. Maybe that could resolve your issue? Also it could be possible that those ROMs removed something or did a tweak that could be causing your prob too.

Well, I've just flashed LeeDroid, and it does exactly the same thing, so that's 3 roms now all with the same issue. I tried ICS Browser+ just now which I believe is pretty much the stock ICS AOSP browser, and it was the same deal. I also earlier found a flashable zip file which installs the AOSP Browser and I gave that a try, I still got the split second fuzziness on double tap or pinch to zoom.
I'm wondering if I might have had a bad firmware flash and it's broken something; I've tried re-flashing the latest ICS firmware but nothing improved. I think I'd like to go back to Gingerbread and start again, but I have no idea where the Gingerbread firmware can be found.
One other thing, do you use the 'fomat to fit screen / text reflow' option? I've noticed that turning it off speeds things up a bit, although there is still a slight moment of fuzziness during the zoom after double tap.
I've also got ICS installed on my HTC Desire and it does not have that issue, but it mentions in the changelog that a fix was applied. This leads me to thinking that it is a problem with the ICS version of WebKit. But, you say you don't have any issues, which is baffling. Which version of the ICS Firmware are you using?
What you're seeing is normal for ICS. The reason it does that is because it is rendering the page into an array of images - this is called a backing store. It is much easier to scale and transform an image than it is to redraw the page for every frame of a scroll or zoom animation. This makes for better frame rates during scrolling and zooming, at the cost of that momentary pixelation when you zoom in. A lot of people whined about the non-smooth scrolling in older versions so I guess they decided to go this route with ICS (which, by the way, is what Apple does in iOS, and if you've ever used an iWhatever you'll see the same thing when zooming in).

This is not unique to Sense ROMs either, I'm on a de-Sensed ROM at the moment and even then the browser does the same thing. In any case, personally I find the scrolling much smoother than before, and I think it's a worthwhile tradeoff.
I don't know if it works on Sense 3.6 ROMs, but try typing "about:debug" in the address bar, hit enter, then go to Settings>Debug and then uncheck "Enable OpenGL Rendering". Then you get no pixelation on zooming in, but the scrolling will be slower.

I do see what you're talking about, but the pixelation is only for like 2 milliseoconds, so who cares.

Thank you SO MUCH! This is exactly what I was looking for, I searched around but had you not said this, I would never have known.
I can live with the slightly jerkier scrolling, in fact I don't really notice it. What I did notice was the slow zooming and rendering, but thanks to you that's now fixed. Cheers!
this is why i don't use custom ROMS. to many bugs/issues and no matter how much someone that makes a roms and tests it, they will never have a perfect product. Let me ask a few questions that may get your attention. One big issue for me is that how do you know that the folks that make these things aren't embedding malicious software in there? How many people pay bills or access their bank accounts with their phones and how do you know that the ROM isn't sending your data back to it's creator?
No worth the risk for me.

Have you spot that new Opera version is a little bit laggy with that new interface?
Anyway.... is there any way of fixing the adress bar not to hide when scrolling?
It is making me mad when it is hiding and showin and hiding, and showing... grrrrrrr
And i think the quality of rendered sites is worse compearing to previous version.

I couldn't agree more. I hate it. they've just followed in chromes footsteps.
if I wanted chrome' I'd install chrome
There is modded multiwindow version of old one in one of the threads to be downloaded.
Already overwritten new one... it sucks... the only good solution in it is option of moving the toolbar to the bottom, but they didn't have to rewrite the code from scratch to implement it
Huge minus for opera....
.
I guess I'm alone, then- as I find myself selecting it for browsing more and more.
I love the old version but I find the new one utter rubbish. All the features that I used are gone just for the sake of a change of look, I can't believe they actually thought it was acceptable to release this trash rather than keep it in beta until it was feature equivalent. Luckily I had a Titanium backup.
Features such as?

The most important is text wraping. No I had to switch to Dolphin. Also it is very strange that they remover opera bookmarks! It is red-colored chrome adaptation.Very miserable update.
Download the opera classic in the app store

Hey guys, I searched for this issue but couldn't find it anywhere. I use to be able to long press on any text in any application and it would highlight the text, then I could move the bars to select more or less text as I needed. Once I had the text I wanted selected I could quick press on it or long press and copy the text. Then I could long press in another area and paste it.
Before I had rooted and installed one of the gingerbread OS, not sure which one. Everything worked great on that ROM build, and I loved it. Recently I decided to wipe my phone, and once again followed the Galaxy Blaze Bible post to re-root and install CWM, followed by this freaking great CM10 stable ROM. However, I can't select text in a game I'm using, when I could before by long pressing.
I know this sounds like a minor inconvenience, and it is, but I sure would like that functionality back if possible. I've tried selecting text in other apps and it does it perfectly and I can paste too.
I'm noticing that if the text isn't in a "text box" it won't copy, and it did before.
I also installed Gapps 4.2. I got the stable CM 10 ROM from the Cyanogenmod website 2 days ago (cyanogenmod dot org). Hope this info helps.
Hopefully, someone has a fix or a work around? Maybe there is another app I can install or if the developers of CM 10 stable have the time to look into this issue and fix it, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for any help you may have.
CM 10 Stable - Keyboard issue
Oh, I almost forgot. Before when I use to type in text, if the keyboard took up too much space the text field would rise above the keyboard so I could see what I was typing. Now in the CM 10 stable ROM, the keyboard covers up my text fields and I can't see what I'm typing or erasing. I've also tried installing the go keyboard and still have the same issue.
Again, if anyone has a work around or an idea on an app that will take care of this issue, that would be great. Or if the devs have time to look into that would be awesome too.
Thanks guys / gals

For the nightly ROM do I have to backup and completely wipe the phone again, or can I just update the stable ROM?
Also, should I just go with the newest CM 10, or should I go for the 10.1 ROM?
Thanks so much!
Update
Ok, I found the update function in my phones settings so I got the latest CM 10 nightly ROM. However, same issue with not being able to select / highlight text in non-text boxes. The keyboard is still blocking my view of what I'm typing as well?
Perhaps there is an app from t-mobile that took care of this issue before? I forgot to mention that t-mobile is my carrier, so perhaps they had some functionality that this build doesn't have?
If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated!

As far as the copying of text in apps goes, different apps behave differently between different Android versions. 4.1.2 is very different from 2.3.7.
As for your keyboard issues, that's just CM. My phone behaves the same way. Sometimes, the text field simply doesn't gain focus when it's selected. The workaround: when you select a text box and the keyboard goes over it and hides it, press your back button to hide the keyboard then select the text box again.
I seem to remember this happening more frequently with early versions of CM10 for our device and it continuing until i started fresh. If i were you, i would download the latest nightly and erase you phone completely with Black Hole and FSC aka Gremlin Remover, then reflash cm10.

I'm on a Pixel 3 XL with the latest Android update (not rooted, no custom ROM, or anything like that). I am using Nova Launcher. When I try to switch to a recent app, there is a long lag time. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens more often than not.
In the video link below, I have the "show taps" on so you can see what is going on. I clear all the recent apps. Open just 4 apps. And then try to switch to the most recent app. I tap two times, and nothing happens. But the screen is not frozen since I can still scroll through the recent apps. I tap one last time and there is still no response. And after a while, the app finally opens.
Is this a common issue on Pixels. Is there anything that can improve this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Tried it with the stock launcher and it did not happen. This is super frustrating. Pixel phones are becoming iPhones now, limiting our choice. I don't know how they haven't fixed this issue yet, despite having Android 10 out for so long.

It has to do with everything being built into the launcher now, including animations. If it makes you feel better this seems pretty much completely fixed in Android 11. Are you rooted? There is a magisk module that fixes this completely on Android 10 as well.
Edited to add: it's called quickstep switcher I believe in case you're wondering

Thanks! I'll look into it. This is the first phone I haven't rooted or had a custom ROM on, mainly because of the ease of monthly OTA updates. But now I am leaning towards rooting. I'll have to research a bit about how to deal with monthly updates while rooted.

Root it but keep the old boot image. Flash the original boot image before taking the OTA. Then download the fastboot files for the new OTA from the Android site, patch that new boot image and flash that.
Feel free to PM me anytime you need any help, I'll even patch the boot image for you if you like.
