I Deleted the Stock Music apk, Help - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was freezing something in Titanium and screwed up. I really do not want to have to restore and start all over. Would it be possible to post the default samsung music player apk, or is that not allowed. I also am not sure if it is possible since it is a system app. I am still learning as I go. Thanks!

How to prevent Android reinstalling unwanted apps

How do you prevent the Android Market from re-installing SOME apps after reformatting or installing a new ROM?
I've searched all over and can't find a solution other than don't sign in with your account at the initial start-up. However, this prevents ANY apps from being reinstalled from the backup.
I like the feature and want to use it, but I tested a whole bunch of free apps which were junk and now they keep coming back everytime I flash my phone! I just want a few of the ones I thought were quality apps not everything I've tried.
Please help an Android noob!

Removed Bloatware, but now concerned DInc

Hey guys, So I rooted last night and installed titanium backup and removed amazon mp3 and city id.. then i did a test to see if i could simply restore them by titanium backup. I quickly found out that it could not do that. My phone is working fine I am just concerned for when any new update comes out that my phone wont be able to update.
What do I need to do to reinstall these apps as system apps. I have the .apk and placed it in System/App and installed, but it just installs as a normal application. I am sure I am missing something here.
Will amazon mp3 and city id be required when I do the next android update?
You might find a system dump in the dinc forum. For future reference use titanium pro to "freeze" all the unwanted apps meaning all things verizon. They can easily be un-frozen when you need to ota update.
good day. From my Fascinate using the XDA app.

[Q] Quick question regarding restoring apps after changing ROM's

I've always used Titanium Backup to completely back up all of my apps just before wiping, resetting, and installing a new ROM, then restoring. Someone told me that in essence, the Google app store does the same thing, so long as your phone is set to back up your apps. If this is the case, which process does everyone here prefer?
I still use tibu. Google is unreliable. You can't force it to restore.

Not exactly the same. The Play Store will restore your apps without data. In essence, it just redownloads all your apps so you don't have to. TiBu will store data as well. Also, TiBu will backup and restore any app that you installed from outside the Play Store (like Swiftkey 3 Beta or the Amazon App Store) and restore apps much faster (since they are already downloaded, all it has to do is batch install them).
TiBu has a plethora of features too like automatic backups and syncing and such. However, restoring your apps with data may cause some headaches sometimes. For instance, restoring Friendcaster Pro with data after doing a wipe will break push notifications until I remove my Facebook account and re-login. Though restoring data to something like Tasker is freaking great since I don't have to go through the hassle of setting up all my profiles again.
Thank you very much for confirming my thoughts. I'm a long-time Titanium Backup user, and I don't doubt that sometimes the app store restoration process can be unreliable. I shall continue with what I know works, and works well!

What Bloatware Safe To Remove: Verizon S3

Is there a list of what Bloatware is safe to remove from Verizon Galaxy S3?
I ran across this spreadsheet the other day but don't recall which thread the link was from.

Another noob question...What is the difference between freezing an app and uninstalling one? I mean, it's a bit obvious, but also a bit vague...
My first few questions are rather broad/major... What's the different between a "package" and a ".APK" based on the spreadsheet being linked? Does freezing keep the process from restarting upon rebooting the phone??
Do I want to freeze apps that I want to keep for possible future use? Uninstall is for anything I want to get rid of completely and never plan to use, correct? I likely know the answers to these...But I also read that freezing an app is better and frees up more system resources than uninstalling....how can that be true? I assume uninstalling an app also "freezes" it, AKA stops it from processing...Correct?
So apps I might want in the future, like clock widgets, I just want to freeze, correct? Same for calender, calculator, etc?
On the other hand, I was to uninstall items like VZW Navigator, correct?
Sorry for redundent questions but I'm just making sure I do everything right.

From what I understand, freezing essentially deactivates the app. As long as the app is frozen, it should not start, regardless if your phone reboots. If you freeze the app, it will still be there, just not working where as uninstalling it will completely remove the app. If you are not sure if you want it, just freeze it.
Freeze disables it and leaves it in the rom and usually hides from app drawer. Uninstall deletes it from rom making rom footprint smaller but saves it in TIBU backup folder. Defrost re-enables app in rom. Uninstalled apps can be reinstalled from TIBU. Bottom line frozen app is still in rom thus not actually debloated just disabled. Uninstalled is removed from rom but saved by TIBU thus debloated.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have an updated list for TW 4.3?
I have this link
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqTvctlW89DtdC1qVUlLeVFTV3ZOdUtDclpBdVRQOUE&pli=1#gid=0
but it's clearly old as I don't see listings for Cloud and Backup Assistant Plus, which appear to be some Verizon (not Samsung) backup options.
Anyone have a current list?

[Q] The holy grail of apps

HI all,
Not too sure what to ask here,
I want to know if there is an app that will allow me to pick which apps i want to stay in memory.
In other words, stop apps from running or restarting, unless I open them, and to kill them when Im done.
Ive tried a few apps, but none seem to actually stop the app from restarting.
Running SGS i9000 Gamerzrom JB 4.2 Root
Titanium Backup Pro
Try titanium back up pro, it has the feature to convert downloaded apps to a system app. Apps converted to system app won't be killed and should keep it from restarting. For more info, search about titanium backup and converting apps to system apps.
Try using 'All in One Toolbox and go to Startup options where you can configure which apps can start on boot(needs root). You can also uninstall apps from it. It is as its name does many things and alos has a nice Home Screen widget for quick access. Try it.
Sorry forgot to mention ive been using ZDBox all in one, it has a task killer in it too.
Hard to elaborate what im looking for.
Put it this way, I want everything to stay closed until I use it, and once im done using it, for it to close and stay closed again.
Killing at startup only works on startup. If the app is set to restart then thats a wasted feature.
I dont really want to change an app into a system app as that will keep it running when the system allows it to.
Any other suggestions? there has to be an app out there that developers or memory attentive users, are using to keep their memory and cpu free.
