CSC code represents the locale settings, apps, etc for a specific country, region, or even carrier. for example, TGY is the official code for Hong Kong, with default locale set to Traditional Chinese, timezone set to GMT+8 and come with some localized apps for Hong Kong. and since there is no carrier specific CSC here so we don have other CSC code, while in England for instance, there are branded or specific carriers' CSCs

Connect to Kies and look at the main page, it will display your CSC towards the bottom of the tablets information.

Hi i have a Samsung Galaxy 3 gt-i5800 and i need to flash new firmware for it.
I have done this in the past using this thread click here I cant reply to that thread)

Hi thanks. what version do i get for 2.2 i am from New Zealand and we speak english(i assume the uk version). there is only one for united kingdom. the origional xda developer post i mentioned had more than one uk version without boot loaders to minimise bricking.
How did your update from that site work.
You can change the language from settings if you install any rom

i also want to note i want an open firmware that will not lock the phone to any particular carrier. my phone now is unlocked anyway. i guess i just need figure that all out.

Samsung is mixing the FW names anyway, so that is not really relevant
Alright so just wanted to let people know that 4.3 for I9505 Vodafone Uk is just started downloading on my phone. Dont know the exact firmware as its just showing update and download is aprrox 680 mb so i think better than Sammobiles Odin Updates. No offense they bring the stuff first in samsungs line. HARD WORK
